The Flag of the Union of Galactic Proletarian Republics

Born from a successful proletarian world revolution on the world of Mir in the Fourth Age, the Union of Galactic Proletarian Republics (Their entry here) had gone from strength to strength, triumph to triumph to become one of the foremost great powers of the Equusian Sphere, and the leading civilization advancing the cause of the Proletarianism in the Fifth Age across the galaxy. While by no means perfect, with the subtle and overt aid and guidance of a leading figure from Tellus who championed their Second Age predecessor, the UGPR and its fellow interstellar nations of the Third Proletarian Interstellar may yet succeed where many others had failed in achieving a true utopian civilization where all beings, regardless of differences, may live in equality and be able to enjoy and share the fruits of their labours for the betterment of all. And to that end, no matter how great the effort or how terrible the trials, the UGPR would soldier on, and the galaxy will learn and tremble before their resolve...

General

• Alternate History: While not actually one for Earth or Equus, the 'Mir Revolutionary Era' appears to be based on the premise of their version of the German Sparticist Uprising of 1919 succeeding.
• Applied Phlebotinum:
  • Ersatz, an Expy of Polymer from Atomic Heart is one of the technological cornerstone of the UGPR and Proletarian Bloc, being a wonder material with incredible programmable, electrochemical and adaptive properties enabled it to quickly revolutionised Mirian and Union technology and society, making it ubitiquous across the Union by the Fifth Age.
  • Temporalium, an Expy of Element 99 from Singularity is an exotic mineral crystal which when refined into various allotropes generates fields which allows for time manipulation of varying degrees and effects. While heavily regulated even by the Union due to their potential misuse and dangerous consequences, they still use it extensively for purposes such as preserving life and objects in stasis, accelerate agricultural production, generate rifts into hyperspace for their Hyperfold Drives, create artificial gravity (since time and space are interlinked), Time Travel and para-universe jumping for research and exploration, build Weapons of Mass Destruction...
• Capitalism Is Bad: Like their ideological predecessors, Proletarianism stands resolutely against any form of socio-economic system which exploits, oppresses and alienates tlabour of the masses for the benefit of a few capital-owning elites. Any form of activity resembling capitalism is noted to be banned by Union law within UGPR and TPI territories.
• Chummy Commies: They are much more benevolent and functional compare to the Second Age counterparts and Real Life Communist states, if not perfect and still very hostile to other factions and civilizations who oppress and exploit the proletariat. The main ideology of UGPR (With variations between different members), 'Galactic Proletarianism' further emphasizes this trope as it was derived from the Mirian Revolutionary Era 'Plenary Proletarianism, noted for its resemblance to the socialist tendency of 'Council Communism', which emphasizes democratic workers councils arising in factories and municipalities as the natural/main form of working class organisation and vehicle of revolution and subsequent political organisation.
• Faster-Than-Light Travel: The UGPR's and Third Proletarian Interstellar's primary means of interstellar travel is the Hyperfold Drive, which allows spacecraft to travel to the stars beyond lightspeed via a fourth physical dimension which permeates and allows shortcuts through the three-dimensional universe. While travel is instantaneous and could reach almost any star system, they work best within the gravity well of celestial objects, and travel is limited to channels or 'Hyperfolds' of curved spacetime formed from overlap between gravity wells of interstellar objects.
• The Juggernaut: The UGPR is one of the larger Great Powers of the Equusian Sphere in the Fifth Age, controlling over 8 million plus star systems directly and having allies in the Third Proletarian Interstellar which control even more territory in the name of Galactic Proletarianism.
• The Revolution Will Not Be Bureaucratized: Different circumstances and New/Comrade Hooviet's secret guidance and assistance led to the Mirians' proletarian revolutions avoiding the authoritarian divergence of Second Age Hooviet Union and their allies and the totalitarian degeneration of the Soviet Union and other communist regimes in Real Life.
• Utopia: Discussed. Like their ideological predecessors Proletarianism aims to achieve a moneyless, classless and stateless utopia where everyone would work for the common good and be able to enjoy life and the fruits of their labours without fear of deprivation or exploitation. Whether or not this is actually achievable (or even desirable) is much debated both within and beyond the Union on account of how previous attempts at utopia often not ending well or ultimately proving unsustainable. Still, the UGPR is determined to give it their best shot.
• Truth in Television:
  • The UGPR's economic system of 'Collaborative Planned Economy' is inspired by the CPFR logistics model utilised by Walmart and other massive retail multinational companies, which had been cited by some scholars to be a potential model for a functional planned economy revolving around open, inclusive and transparent collaboration between all participants of the logistic network to plan, forecast and replenish supplies and goods from production to retail, emphasising on applying innovation, maximising efficiency and minimising costs.
  • The Synchronised Cybernetic Decision Support (SCDS) system which complements the UGPR's Collaborative Planned Economy and forms one of the technological cornerstones of the Union is based on Project Cybersyn, scaled to interstellar levels. Like Cybersyn, SCDS enables transparent, efficient, democratic and non-bureaucratised economic planning via a decentralised network of computers allowing effective real-time feedback and coordination of economic activity.
• Shout-Out: In part one to Spartakus: World in Revolution, as crucial to the triumph of Proletarianism on Mir was its Germany analog falling to Proletarianism, forming the Central Eurysian Proletarian Republic which led the Proletarian bloc to victory in the subsequent century-long Mirian World Revolution.
• Time Master: Thanks to the Union's great deposits of Temporalium and exploiting their properties, the Union developed advanced time-manipulating 'Chronotech' which formed one of the technological cornerstones of the interstellar revolutionary state, allowing them to accelerate, decelerate, stop and even reverse time to various degrees for various purposes, as well as create other effects related to time which they could use. They had even begun using them to travel through time and into parallel universes for research purposes, though in the former case are prevented from altering time accidentally or deliberately via natural laws preventing paradoxes and acausality.
• Well-Intentioned Extremist: While much more benevolent and functional than their ideological predecessors as well as some of their rivals, the UGPR and the TPI are still willing and determined to build a better future for all races and civilizations in the galaxy by force if peaceful means fail, especially where they find egragious cases of oppression and exploitation. They proactively try to spread Proletarianism and instigate proletarian revolutions throughout the galaxy, arming revolutionaries and invading planets whenever and wherever they could. In short, they are a case of Good Is Not Nice to many who agree with their goals in principle, and Dirty Communists to many who otherwise do not.

Notable Figures and Leaders

Comrade Hooviet

Formerly New Hooviet, the preeminent Communist superhero of the Hooviet Union in the Second Age, Comrade Hooviet had survived the end of the Second Age and reawoke on Mir at some point in the Fourth Age. From then on, he would become involved in the history of Mir and later the Union of Galactic Proletarian Republics, helping to usher forth world revolution and later galactic revolutions in hopes that the UGPR and the Third Proletarian Interstellar would succeed where the Hooviet Union failed in emancipating all races and civilizations from oppression and exploitation.

• Battle Cry: Gave one during the start of Mir's Proletarian World Revolution while in disguise as one of the revolutionary leaders, during the storming of one of the strongholds of the old imperialistic and bourgeois regimes.
  Comrade Hooviet: ALL POWER, TO THE PROLETARIAT!
• Big Damn Heroes: He revealed himself and his powers in full to save Mir from a Doomsday Device the last enemies of the Proletariat unleashed in their Last Stand.
• Chummy Commies: He is a Communist from the Second Age and one of the first Proletarianists of the Fourth/Fifth Age, and he's as noble and idealistic as the ideologies he represents were meant to be, and helps keep the Union on the straight and narrow path.
• History Repeats: Openly defied by Comrade Hooviet, who did his best to prevent Mirian Proletarianism from committing the same mistakes as Hooviet Communism back in his day. By all accounts, he had been largely successful.
• Humble Hero: When inquired by the people of Mir whether he was responsible for the century-long proletarian world revolution, he insisted that even he alone cannot achieve all of it, merely helping to nudge things here and there, and that ultimately their victory was largely by their own efforts. As far as he was concerned, this was THEIR victory.
• King Incognito: Played With since he is not and would not see himself as a king due to his ideological representation, but he was one of the major figures and leaders in the proletarian world revolution on Mir, helping to see its success from the shadows before finally coming out in the open.

• Weapons of Mass Destruction:
  • The Type-99 Temporalium-Boosted Transatomic Detonation Device (Also known simply as the T99 Bomb) are one of the more powerful weapons available in the arsenal of the Union Armed Forces, utilising the properties of time-manipulating Temporalium to further increase the power of the already enhanced transatomic nuclear devices, giving them continent- or even planet-busting levels of destructive capabilities.

Union Cosmo Fleet

General

• Flying Saucer: Has one in the Strato-Vs, an Expy of vehicles of the same name fielded by East Meg One in Judge Dredd. Developed from antigrav magitech acquired via espionage from the Fourth Stellarian Empire, the aerodynamic crescent/horseshoe-saucer craft is capable of atmospheric and orbital flight and primarily serves as a transport for troops and ground vehicles, tactical bombing operations, strategic bomber interceptions and even aerial command vehicles for relaying or issuing orders for both War-Automatons and conventional forces. It is VERY fast, and is frequently used in shock assaults where a wave of Strato-V tactical bombers surgically pulverises enemy forces with bombs, missiles and energy beams at blistering speeds, paving the way for Strato-V transports carrying Union Cosmo Army forces to arrive and deploy troops and vehicles which could then exploit weakpoints opened in the enemy lines.

Admiral Hard Water

First mentioned in a Drabble, Admiral Hard Water of the 85th Spinward Fleet is a prominent commander of the Union Cosmo Fleet who achieved famed in the fairly recent and brief Union-Anthrosaurian War, defeating a numerically- and tonnage-superior space fleet of the Anthrosaurian Empire as part of the UGPR's campaign to relieve and liberate the invaded world of Erth from the invading evolved sapient Dinosaurs of the empire.

• Four-Star Badass: This admiral managed to defeat an Anthrosaurian fleet which outweighs and outnumbers his fleet at 2-to-1 in tonnage and 80,000 to 50,000 in vessels through superior technologies and superior tactics.
