* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: To Eden, both are foreign Adept organizations led by a powerful figure (ZedΩ for ATEMS, the Mysterious Girl for Eden), both launch an invasion of Japan to retrieve an object of interest (The Muse for Eden, Moebius for ATEMS), and both are devoted in their loyalty towards their respective leaders. The difference between the two is that Eden is fought inside their base of operations located outside of Japan (Tashkent), while ATEMS [[spoiler:is fought inside of a palace using the UTU Media Tower as a base (a location inside Japan).]] [[spoiler:Most importantly, unlike Eden, none of the ATEMS members display any form of hatred towards non-Adepts and ZedΩ declares in his opening cutscene of "Epilogue ATEMS" that he and his research division will use their research of Azure Spirits to save not just Adepts, but humans (and all life) as well.]]

* OurWeaponsWillBeBoxyInTheFuture: One of the aversions. Their weapons (excluding the wrist-mounted missile launchers and heavy gunners) are round, sleek, and comparatively alien-shaped.

* TheSpymaster: Because Luxia can manifest long-distance away from Layla without issue (and as a sentient Septima any possible damage to her won't reflect on Layla), she is often used for reconnaissance. It's to the point she can manifest past the barrier Sumeragi erected around Japan without a problem when the rest of ATEMS were still unable to enter, thus allowing her to play a hand in the Berserk Adept incidents. In the playable epilogue, it's also revealed ATEMS has been using Luxia to keep an eye on things back home while they're doing business in Japan.

* TheUnfought: The only Knight whom Gunvolt and Kirin never fight. Justified as her Septima has no proper application for combat, coupled with not holding a Binding Brand that boosts the other Knights' offensive capabilities. [[spoiler:{{Averted}} when she becomes the FinalBoss of "Epilogue ATEMS" due to the Azure Spirits possessing and powering her up, though it is ZedΩ who still fights her regardless.]]

The primary antagonistic group of the first game. An incredibly powerful zaibatsu that rules the country from the shadows. Though a philanthropic organization on the surface, they are responsible for the kidnaping and human experimentation of countless Adepts. * AnimalMotifs: Rabbits. She wears a ribbon on her head that resembles rabbit ears. Also doubles as FairytaleMotifs as it ties into her overall ''Alice in Wonderland'' theme.

* BackFromTheDead: In a variant, [[spoiler:Zonda eventually uses her power to create mirror copies of several members of the Grimoire Seven, with all the same powers and even memories of the real persons]].

* BatmanGambit: In the prologue of the second game, she has Eden kidnap Copen's sister Mytyl and cause the Sumeragi airship, Seraph to crash into the city in order to draw out both Gunvolt and Copen so they could imprison the power of the Muse [[spoiler:in Zonda's mirror shards]]. Later, in Copen's story, [[spoiler:they kidnap Mytyl ''again'' to bring Copen to the garden so they can reclaim the shards.]]

* BrownNote: Her Paradise Lost LimitBreak has her sing a dreadful tune [[spoiler:with the power of The Muse]] that drains an Adept's power - and their health, if they have no power left to lose.
* TheChessmaster: The sequel and Drama CD's reveal that [[spoiler:Zonda has been planning her scheme since before the events of the first game. She had Eden stage an attack on Sumeragi's media tower to act as a cover while she (with a little incidental help from Asimov) snuck through and used her Mirror Septima to infiltrate Sumeragi's ranks so she could steal their technology right under their noses and use their tech to enact Eden's plan to create an Adept-only paradise. Gunvolt's (unrelated) raids against Sumeragi that caused the deaths of their strongest men and Asimov only [[UnintentionalBackupPlan played perfectly in her favor]], putting any potential opposition or competition out of her way. Despite a surprise attack from Gunvolt afterwards, the plan still went off without a hitch.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: With [[spoiler:Tenjian]]. According to his Dengeki profile, she grew up in the same orphanage as he did.

* DistaffCounterpart: To Asimov. Both are powerful Adepts who are the leaders of a SuperSupremacist terrorist organization (though Asimov hid his true intentions for QUILL from almost everyone including many within the group, while she was up-front about Eden's goal) that seeks to wipe out humanity to create an Adept-only paradise. The only difference is that in ''Luminous Avenger Ix'' it's revealed that [[spoiler:Asimov ended up merely controlling Adepts under dystopian conditions for the sake of, while Zonda is shown to genuinely care for her fellow comrades.]]

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Specifically, her sworn brother, Tenjian. [[spoiler:They were orphans who grew up together. Upon her death, her final words has her tearfully calling Tenjian's name.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When Gunvolt asks her if she plans to enslave Adepts by [[spoiler:rebooting Sumeragi's Diva Project]], she vehemently denies this, stating she wishes to use [[spoiler:the Muse's power]] to enhance the Septimas of Adepts worldwide. It's telling that it's [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness one of the few moments where she briefly breaks her calm facade]].

** After [[spoiler:gaining the power of the Muse]], she can be seen as an EvilCounterpart to [[spoiler:Lumen: Both are fairy-like beings with abilities that are related: Lumen's Anthem strengthens an adept, while Zonda's Paradise Lost debilitates them. Zonda planned to use the Anthem to transform every Adept in the world into formindable powerhouses so they could stage an unstoppable uprising, while Nova planned to use Lumen to ensure they lose the will to incite chaos.]]
** She can also be considered one to Gunvolt. Both of them were SS-rank Adepts known for owning incredibly powerful Septimas, uses them with superior effectiveness and were orphans with a DarkAndTroubledPast. However, [[spoiler:Gunvolt believes that humans and Adepts could coexist and thus enters a road of confrontational pacifism, but Zonda's deep-rooted beliefs that all humans must be exterminated by Adepts made her go down the path of a genocide motivated by radical supremacy alongside several equally persecuted Adepts]]. While Gunvolt deserted his comrades in QUILL upon discovering his mentor's treachery, [[spoiler:Zonda and her friends hold tight until the very end, and she even cries for her brother (and mentor) upon her death.]]
* {{Expy}}: Respected amongst their individual group? Wears pink/purple clothing? Has blond hair with pink tips? EvilPlan involves [[spoiler:[[TheFairFolk fairy-like beings]]]] and whose OneWingedAngel resembles a fairy/angel? Intends to KillAllHumans [[spoiler:using said fairy as an AmplifierArtifact]] and create a paradise for their [[FantasticRacism suffering race]]? She is essentially a genderbent and more dangerous version of [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Elpizo]]. Considering she's similar to [[spoiler:Asimov]], who's also an Elpizo expy, it makes more sense.
* TheFairFolk: Her OneWingedAngel form resembles a fairy, which is {{justified}} as [[spoiler:the Muse Septima itself, which she absorbed, also takes the form of a fairy.]]

* FirstEpisodeTwist: Her appearance in the prologue stage comes with a shocking twist that ties to the previous game: she's the real Zonda, the forms we see in the first game are merely her illusions, and she was TheMole in Sumeragi's ranks.

* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: '''Inverted'''. During the [[spoiler:final battle with her and Gunvolt, she'll unleash her Paradise Lost Special Skill which can only be countered... by having ''the player'' sing Reincarnation, meaning the fourth wall doesn't protect ''her'' from ''you''.]]
* FromNobodyToNightmare: She was just a relatively normal Adept girl who suffered discrimination at the hands of humans. Then she [[spoiler:met Tenjian and they]] formed Eden, and the rest is history.
* GodhoodSeeker: When Copen asks her if she intends to become a god with [[spoiler:the power of the Muse]], she states that she's "strongly considering it".

* MagicMusic: Her Paradise Lost Special Skill has her sing a song and release shockwaves that will drain Gunvolt's health and can only be countered... by [[spoiler:singing ''Reincarnation''.]]
* MasterOfIllusion: Her Septimal power, Mirror, allows her to create realistic copies of objects and people or distort landscapes. In particular, her Lustful Mirage form was so convincing that neither Gunvolt, Copen or Nova suspect they're [[ActuallyADoombot a decoy]]. During the [[spoiler:final boss fight, she combines this with the power of the Muse, allowing her to effectively [[RealityWarper control reality itself]].]]

* MysteriousPast: Averted this time. Tenjian's ''Dengeki'' profile and his in-battle dialogue imply that [[spoiler:Zonda was with him all the time, meaning that she met Tenjian in the same orphanage, were one of the two kids who survived after its abandonment and saw Tenjian poisoned by an anti-adept man who feigned them kindness.]] Neither source refers to [[spoiler:her by name, but it should be awfully obvious who they are referring to.]]
* NeverRecycleYourSchemes: Averted. [[spoiler:Nova's original plan was to merge with the Muse to subjugate Adepts worldwide, but this failed when Joule started FightingFromTheInside. Zonda remembers this when putting her own Muse-fusion scheme into motion and takes extra precautions to weaken Joule and adapt her Septima to herself before merging.]]

* OlderAlterEgo: Her alter-egos look certainly older than her. And [[SexierAlterEgo sexier,]] too.
* OneWingedAngel: For the FinalBoss fight, she [[spoiler:absorbs the power of the Muse and]] transforms into a fairy-like form [[spoiler:that resembles a dark and twisted version of Joule and Lola.]]

* PowerDyesYourHair: Her hair, once powered up by [[spoiler:the Muse's Septima]], becomes stark white with pink tips. Her hair tip colors also change to match her wing color.

* RankScalesWithAsskicking: As the leader of Eden, she's among the most powerful foe Gunvolt and Copen have ever fought. [[spoiler:Even more after she takes on the power of the Muse]].
* RealityWarper: Initially {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Zonda can twist landscapes using her Phantasm Mirror septima, something that she put to use against Gunvolt in Sinner's Row and in Eden HQ, but she couldn't blatantly warp reality itself. Played straight when she combines [[spoiler:her Phantasm Mirror Septima with the power of the Muse, upgrading it to the Reverie Mirror, which essentially allows her to control reality itself.]]

* TheReveal: Later in the game, it's revealed that [[spoiler:she and Tenjian are sworn siblings]].

** Once she successfully [[spoiler:absorbs the power of the Muse]], however, she truly becomes this, her power enhanced to the point she can [[RealityWarper create an entire dimension]], [[DeathDealer create cards that all transform into different forms]], and even [[MagicMusic sing a song powerful enough to drain the energy of her opponents while making herself invincible]].

* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Even discounting her stoicness and her desire to KillAllHumans, the fact that [[spoiler:as part of her cover at Sumeragi Zonda deliberately played up the part of an exuberant sex-changing LoveFreak who ''drips'' with innuendo using every word and action]] should be a sign she really doesn't think like someone her age should. Considering [[spoiler:her shared past with Tenjian and that she had one of the strongest Septimas to ever made manifest however, there's no wonder she would had been ended up completely insane.]]

* VillainousBreakdown: When defeated in the final battle, her last words are her sputtering in complete disbelief that she would've been defeated despite [[spoiler:wielding the power of the Muse]].

* VisionaryVillain: Much like Nova, she believes that the [[spoiler:power of the Muse]] is necessary to bring peace to the world and make it a paradise...[[spoiler:only for her, it would a paradise for the Adepts only since they [[KillAllHumans would be the only ones left]]]].

* YouHaveNoChanceToSurvive: In her final battle against Gunvolt, the entirety of the mid-fight dialogue is her bragging that Gunvolt is dead to rights since [[spoiler:she took the Muse from him - and unlike Nova, she took measures to prevent her from using Anthem]].

* GratuitousEnglish: In the Japanese version, the rhyming texts are all written in English (roman letters and all) instead of Japanese.

* OreOnna: She uses "ore" to refer to herself and she's fittingly a rude, foul-mouthed young girl.

* CloningBlues: [[spoiler:{{Averted}} by the mirror copies in the BossRush. All of them know they're just products of Zonda's Phantasm Mirror Septima, but they don't mind and even seem to embrace this second chance to serve Zonda, however empty and "fake" this second life is.]]

* ImpossibileHourglassFigure: She has a large bust and has very notable hips, her armored form definitely help accentuating her hips.

* HartmanHips: She possesses very notable hips, especially in her armored form.

* BoobsOfSteel: She boasts what is potentially the largest bust in the series and is an incredibly powerful Adept.

* MissFanservice: She's a gorgeous young woman with a shapely figure and attire that leaves little to the imagination. She also has a flirtatious personality to match. One of the male {{Mooks}} in her stage outright says to himself she's smoking hot, though it also comes with the caveat that she's quite the slave-driver. BB can't help but use comments like "that perfect peach" [[spoiler:even as she's kicking his ass off-screen]] during the final stages.

* ItCanThink: Unknown to everyone until the very end, Azure Spirits have a will on their own.
* {{Teleportation}}: Despite the ATEMS having secured the Azure Spirits in a safe place, they easily vanish from containment to join their kin deep within Sumeragi's Future Institute

* KansaiRegionalAccent: In the Japanese dialogue, Grazie speaks with this dialect. Since this is the English equivalent of a country twang or drawl, that's what her character has in in the American dub.
