Avatar Hong
- Badass Bookworm: He was a professor before he died.
- Posthumous Character: He's Shepard's predecessor as the Avatar.
Avatar Sajuuk
The Prothean Avatar who existed when the Reapers invaded in the last cycle.
- General Failure: He manages to alienate most of the Prothean's allies.
- Jerkass: He is not very likable.
- Pride: Pretty much what causes him to lose to the Reapers.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: He is a solid Renegade, with all the Jerkass tendencies that implies... and as it turns out, him constantly being an asshole even when it wasn't necessary alienated all of the Prothean's client races and led to their destruction, as well as shooting people (see: the Metacon equivalent of Legion) who wanted to help them stop the Reapers.
Ovar
A Prothean cultural anthropologist who joined Sajuuk to stop the Reapers, and the one responsible for consistently calling him out when he crossed a line.
- A God I Am Not/Stop Worshipping Me: In the modern day, he's known by his second name, Athame, as the goddess of the Asari. When he was still alive, he apparently tried to discourage this, but was unsuccessful.
- Benevolent Precursors: Unlike Sajuuk, was a lot more reasonable and well-intentioned towards non-Protheans, and gave the early Asari knowledge of things such as numbers, writing, and weaponry such as primitive spears.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After the Reapers destroy the Crucible, he leaves Sajuuk behind to aid the early asari in hopes of stopping the Reapers.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Does this to Sajuuk whenever he does something screwed up.
Okeer
- The Fog of Ages: Has difficulty remembering a lot of things because of how old he is.
Zaeed
- Badass Normal: Has shown no signs of bending.
- Big Damn Heroes: Shepard and Kasumi are pinned down by Hock/Hoq and Vido, when Zaeed shows up in a Mini-Mecha for his revenge.
- Hero of Another Story: Is sometimes seen in the main story for short periods.
- Refusal of the Call: Not him, but Shepard, who decides not to recruit him after freeing him and seeing how crazy he is.
The Rachni Queen
- A Form You Are Comfortable With: Takes the shape of Kaiden when she's speaking with Shepard.
- Undying Loyalty: To Shepard, for allowing her to live.
