Provisional Government of the United States of America (PGUSA)
Formed from an alliance between the New York and Los Angeles Provisional Governments, the PGUSA is the internationally recognized government of the United States. While it is beset by internal struggles (not to mention being divided between the East and West coasts), it remains the single strongest faction.
Eastern American Workers' Army (EAWA)
Officially known as the People's Republic of Liberated North America, the EAWA seeks to establish an authoritarian socialist state. Since the schism with the Western American Workers' Army, the EAWA has become an absolute dictatorship under Liam Sutton.
- Commie Land
- Dirty Commies: The EAWA is a Stalinist dictatorship.
Western American Workers' Army (WAWA)
Officially known as the Confederated Free Workers' Communes, the WAWA split with their eastern counterparts after Liam Sutton attempted to purge Salvador Gutierrez and Richard Trumka (the other two leaders of the American Workers' Army). The WAWA is dominated by anarchist ideology, similar to the Ukrainian Free Territory.
- Anarchy Is Chaos: Averted.
- Chummy Commies: One of the nicer factions. The WAWA have seen their territory actually grow in population due to refugees from elsewhere.
- Commie Land
- The Other Rainforest
Federal Republic of America (FRA)
Texas and several neighboring states seceded in 2017 to create the FRA, kicking off the Second American Civil War. The FRA has since suffered several setbacks, and is increasingly seen as little more than a Russian client state.
The Dominion
The Dominion is a fanatical Christian sect that believes that the Apocalypse is at hand. Their goal is not so much to create a theocracy as to build a Christian army to fight against the legions of Satan.
- Church Militant
- Knight Templar
- Sinister Minister: Marcus Winshape. Unlike some Sinister Ministers, he is a true believer.
- The Theocracy: To a point. They are certainly religious fanatics, but they aren't actually trying to create a government.
Sons of the South (Sot S)
A neo-Confederate militia that came to dominate the South. They are openly racist, seeking to subjugate nonwhites.
Knights of Columbus (Ko C)
Originally a Catholic fraternity, the Knights of Columbus have become a Catholic militant organization. Their goal was originally to protect American Catholics (mostly Hispanics) but some seek to establish a Catholic theocracy.
- The Mafia: The Knights have close relations with both Italian and Irish gangs. Under their watch, New Orleans has become a haven for smugglers and pirates.
National Revolutionary Guard (NRG)
Originally the southern affiliates of the AWA who were not as successful during the February Revolt. While isolated from each other, the NRG does enjoy support from China, Cuba, and Venezuela
Gadsden Militias
A decentralized militia built on anarcho-capitalist ideology. The Gadsdens have no central organization, but their cells are widespread.
Native Guardians League
A loose association of Native American militias. Of the three surviving branches, the Navajo in the Southwest have formed a de facto independent state, the Oklahoma branch has taken control of half the state, and the Lake Traverse affiliate is allied with the EAWA.
Canada
So far, Canada has mostly stayed out of the conflict (in part due to agitation by the leftist Quebecois Liberation Army). However, Canada did permit PGUSA forces to cross Ontario to attack EAWA-held Detroit, and later hosted a ceasefire conference between the EAWA and the PGUSA. Canadian forces have also (at the request of the PGUSA) occupied the Angle Inlet to prevent the Dominion from doing so.
