Jacques Schnee (née Gelé)
- Things change, and so must we with them. Lest the new, stronger Atlas we thirst for so desperately be taken from us before it even gets off the ground. To protect people's hearts and minds, we must first win them.
- Adaptational Villainy: While the worst thing Jacques could have been accused of in canon is callousness, parental abuse, selfishness, and ambition, this version of Jacques is a member of a right-wing populist movement originating from the 'Old Guard' of Mantle, i.e. the people who started the Great War.
- Affably Evil: Much like his underling, Slater, but he's even more dangerous than he is thanks to his sheer political and corporate power.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Jacques has taken a few levels of villainy in this AU, but he actually stands up for his children in private, shown when he tersely corrects another member of Mantle Ascendant, implied to be a member of the Atlesian Council, on Weiss' gender identity.
- Gratuitous Mantlean: Much like many other members of Mantle Ascendant, Jacques peppers his speech with old Mantlean phrases, though subverted in that he's not even Mantlean at all—his family comes from Mer-de-la-Mere, in Vale.
- Manipulative Bastard: As in canon, and he even uses Weiss' identity and her hero-worship of her grandfather to toy with her emotions.
