    State of Manchuria

Official Name: State of Manchuria
Ruling Party: Kantōgun - Manshū-hanote
Ideology: Military Juntanote
In today's world, Manchuria is seen as a strange combination of military dictatorship and corporate statism, as well as a provisional puppet government of Japan. After the death of Emperor Aixinjuela Puyi, Ryuzo Sejima, a reformist and economist in the Kwantung Army, staged a coup d'etat against the Chief of Staff of the Kwantung Army, Takashi Katakura, a militarist of the Tojo faction, and Zhenduo Ruan, the Prime Minister of Manchukuo.

After overthrowing and purging them and their dissidents, they undertook major reforms aimed at creating a civil government of friendly military officers, local people, businessmen and bureaucrats, and eliminating corruption. Then, when the GAW broke out, they mobilized as allies in the sphere and fought a decade of fierce and brutal warfare alongside the Japanese army. At that time the companies of Canton, a former rival, approached the Manchu side to defect to Manchuria, but many Zhujins and others accepted on condition that they would serve the interests of the Kwantung Army,

and the country suddenly became a corporate state. The war ended with Japan's defeat, and not only did Jehol lose Manchuria to China, but the previously active partisans ceded Outer Manchuria to the Soviet Union peacefully. Sejima did everything in his power to protect his dream and Dai-Nippon Teikoku, and fortunately his efforts paid off.

Today, in 1996, Manchuria is making a name for itself as a country where military dictatorships like OTL's Park Chung-hee continue, but neither Sejima, Tokyo, nor anyone else is quite sure how long that will last.
