Now that he's able to function, Gendo's been making efforts to reconnect with his son, and it comes across as surprisingly timid and uncertain; clearly he's got no experience with this kind of thing, but he's trying anyways. None of his attempts have worked however, since Shinji loathes his guts and wants nothing to do with him.

* DamagedSoul: Played with. Kyoko was barely coherent and mentally sound when she returned from Instrumentality because her soul was still split into several pieces. After she [[spoiler:got murdered again]] Daniel promised Asuka he could bring her mother back, even if he had to fit the pieces of her soul back together. Asuka was skeptical about it being possible or her mother coming back with no nasty aftereffects, [[spoiler:but everything went well.]]

It was agreed leave him like that for a while and then hang him.
