[[folder: ''Super Mario Bros.'' Overworld Theme (World 1-1)]]
* The original ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT3NA5Q08mk Super Mario Bros.]]'' theme. It may have been a simple MIDI tune, but it will be remembered till the end of time. Nearly every Mario game has had a remix of it somewhere. For example, the remake of the original in ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgRP-F-TOOo Super Mario Bros. All-Stars]]''
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXmeyxsZkL4 Here's the one]] from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy''. And ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeLEJ_92Zgw Super Mario Galaxy 2]]'', which adds more instruments.
* A medley of the songs from ''Super Mario Bros'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTiyBbE0kOE appears]] in the arcade version of ''pop'n music 14 FEVER!'', a completely different game by a completely different company. For obvious reasons, it was excluded from the UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 version of the game.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsZh-B0k4vQ#t=0m33s special zone]] version from ''Super Mario World''.
* Ever wonder what Mario music would sound like if Creator/MotoiSakuraba composed it? [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1saeXVWBEAc Well...]]
* The ''Mario Superstar Baseball'' commercial has [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02FTz3GMWJw a beautiful rendition]] played on a stadium organ.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvZWxiUfrNo a cappella scat version]] from ''Super Mario Sunshine''. Great enough in its synthesized version from the game, but [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umh6IPVcpZE the concert recording]] makes it even more awesome. It returned [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbTSNCfXiLQ slightly arranged]] as a mini-game music in ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBros''.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGwN5R41RJA Yoko Shimomura's arrangement of it]] from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG'', which was recycled for ''Mario & Luigi''.
* Speaking of ''Mario & Luigi'', which also features music composed by Shimomura, every game in the series uses an arrangement of the World 1-1 theme as a tutorial theme:
** From ''Superstar Saga'': [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8HyUqi6Rng Koopa Tutorials]].
** From ''Partners in Time'': [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TblCFr_Wm0 The Road to Holli Jolly]].
** From ''Bowser's Inside Story'': [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9osHAC5yPY Tutorial Time]].
** From ''Dream Team'': [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysFxxR-W0pY Go with the Bros.]].
** And finally, from ''Paper Jam'': [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X6yChXwAW0 Prepare Yourself]]. This one in particular is a remix of the ''Partners in Time'' version, the ''Superstar Saga'' remake also uses this in lieu of an arrangement of "Koopa Tutorials".
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xx3mhFPi7o S.S.H. rock remix of it]]. Amazing. Those who liked this will also like [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4l1n69jTArI Mario Minor]] by Powerglove.
* How about [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkEHyGq4Hrc Shell Rider]], another awesome rock remix of this classic tune? Created by [[http://www.carbohydrom.net/music.html CarboHydroM, and all his works are free to download]]!
* There's a Billboard chart for Ringtones. This song spent over 200 weeks in it. It sold over ''seven hundred thousand'' [[http://moconews.net/article/top-selling-ringtones-in-us-for-2006/ units in 2006]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGOdyPjOAbA This one]] from ''VideoGame/{{Tetris}} DS''. Just, wow.
* ''Super Mario 64'''s [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2lDju7jJKU title]]. Our very first "It's-a me! Mario!" Hit those cymbals!
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FCcreMO5nM version]] orchestrated by those [[AnimateInanimateObject possessed instruments]] in ''VideoGame/LuigisMansion''!
* And yet another remix appearance in ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZQ44DhBRMw Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games]]!''
* The ''VideoGame/SuperMario3DLand'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf1-SIvPbEQ remix.]]
* ''Mario Party 9'' has the aptly-titled [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzyif3Mbyio Super-Duper Mario Bros]]. Also in ''Mario Party 9'', we have [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSF1-oZmaE4 Museum]], a soothing calm piano mix; and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyNyyfzpovg Freshen Up!]], which is an excellent remix of the tune in the vein of ''Mario Kart''.
* The ''VideoGame/JustDance 3'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39L-M5nhx6Y version]], which mixes the original theme with the ''All-Stars'' version with original rhythms.
* The ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Tag Tournament 2'' version. Yes, you read that right, a ''Tekken'' version. First seen in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCJAOaPiz5M the trailer of the Wii U version]]; [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpWpNmQm84g here's the full version found in the game]].
* ''Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix'' gives us a techno-reggae style remix titled, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rbI4xsR49Q "Here We Go!"]]
* ''VideoGame/PaperMarioStickerStar'' gives us [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFtBiavEOQA Gooper Blooper's boss theme while poisoned.]] [[DanceBattler Gooper Blooper]] actually ''[[EarWorm claps along]] [[FunnyBackgroundEvent to the song]].''
* From ''VideoGame/NESRemix 2'', the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eC8bN4TJYs winter version]].
* ''VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey'' features a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mMkOEpiylI live band rendition]] in New Donk City. Made even better in-game with the amassed crowd clapping along to the rhythm.

* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMUhQEXCYSw underground theme]]. Remixed for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc_miubcCZ4 Super Smash Bros.]]
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBylgxz9XVQ underwater theme]]. The song really gives off the vibe of swimming deep in the ocean. It gives off a light, floaty feeling, but it's fast-paced enough not to feel boring. There's a reason why many future games would use this as a title screen theme.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBISfv-6hfo Super Mario Bros 2 theme]]. The game may be the adopted child of the Mario series, but the music is awesome, and also there must be some love given for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeS5lCrD6tQ this brilliant jazz remix of it]] (kicks in around 0:25). The bass line [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coHyazTMtKw&t=0s keeps going]] when you pause the game; players often would pause and unpause the game to make their own remix.
* Heck, even the ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-TmJsWglE8 character select]]'' music is epic.
* The beautiful and evocative [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnbNNqf9UaQ ending music]] (starts around 0:57).

* Another oft-remixed classic is the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh0OKW5cwVo Airship Theme]] that debuted in SMB 3. It was remixed, among other things, for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNAmyydSGX0 Super Smash Bros. Brawl]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7D0GKJDU3I underwater theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMdNLUN1pXU main overworld theme]].
** Here's a ''VideoGame/{{Tetris}} DS'' remix of [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqRzDEtEwtc the first overworld theme]].
** And one from ''Smash Bros.'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuj4gcUQ1MA here]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT5nfQJP40Y athletic theme]] is as peppy and energetic as you would expect for an athletic level.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-INuS99s5Q The Hammer Bros' theme]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy2Uuj1rIyI The Koopalings' theme]]. Remixed for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbsibpw1uQ Brawl]].
* Hear the {{Earworm}}y awesomeness that is [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI_mwl3QcYA SMB3's World One Theme]].
* The ''Super Mario Advance 4'' remake has a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4Ezh_uqyvw unique theme]] for bonus areas.
* Also from ''Advance 4'' is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND5emcgF_Qw the majestic World-e Castle theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmnZgBpYG_4 remix]] of the first game's underworld music was so catchy, Nintendo used it for the underworld levels in the ''All-Stars'' version of the first game.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-xih93YIwk Bowser's music.]]

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_-HvB3zbC4 Super Mario Land Overworld 1-1]] gets overshadowed by the Super Mario Brothers 1-1 theme, but it has its fans.
** Which is why [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WyyrAN5XV8 this remix]] exists!
** And also why [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsyY2O30tkM this beauty]] of a mix, an arranged mix from the Mario Freaks Orchestra Album, exists!
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVPjPQK5MeE The World 2-1 and 2-2]] theme.
* The underground theme/Easton Kingdom theme is nice. Hear it [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg6barmUXy0 here]]. There's also the awesome remix from Super Smash Bros Brawl, as heard [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0IhWGUFljk here]] and the Mario Freaks Orchestra remix you can hear [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGV-8tXmxzs here.]]
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42uC8xEODsQ Chai Kingdom]] (Worlds 4-1 and 4-2).
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95QdXiS0m-c Marine Pop/Sky Pop]] theme.
* And then the perfect conclusion, the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Ij30btVao credits]].

* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5ODU-luXx8 castle music]] ([[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Uoocj_MXpw and the Roy's Castle vocal version]]).
** This is a great [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3JWZ15RJPs trance remix]] of the castle music.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUKuH27n5Xo This OC Remix]] is the pure epic.
** Played [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK4RQg9kEZU here on a full blown grand organ]]. Bonus, ''Yoshi's Island'' castle theme as well.
** ''VideoGame/SuperMarioMaker'' finally provided an answer to the question of what this theme sounds like with [[VariableMix Yoshi's bongos]] (since Yoshi couldn't be taken into castle or ghost house levels in ''SMW''), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbeZ7_FAYU here]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vubw2q44FQ This acappella]] cover of the map theme, by the same person behind the Not Roy song.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZUFFzrymCI underwater theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm1JV2jBo5E credits theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBp-hKT3l6w main overworld theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywXj_dYI-yw athletic theme]]. [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gheM0BOvPeQ Here's]] the ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'' remix.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fCx1m0tQT0 Ghost House theme]]. With Yoshi's bongos in ''SuperMarioMaker'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HIpTLTc-Iw here]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3XFioN3faw Koopaling/Reznor boss music]] is also pretty awesome. Obligatory ''Smash Bros'' remix [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IVLO124F_c here,]] giving it a Spanish flamenco feel.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlpQk-3SOSQ The music for the Bowser battle]] is sufficiently epic. Then Square-Enix [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWotVC78z94 remixed it]] for, of all things, the NearVictoryFanfare in ''VideoGame/FortuneStreet''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mNZAZgXYJo The music for the credits]], which is so bubbly that it can be used to make any ending satisfying.

* ''Super Mario Land 2'' has the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_TqLp7yldY Star Maze]]. One of the few songs in the game that isn't a remix of another, and an amazing piece of work for the GameBoy of all things. Of course, the level in question is ThatOneLevel, with ThatOneBoss at the end, so you'll be listening to it a lot. Not that that's bad. It also has a great [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x5azjuDYPU remix]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RLHRZ0370Q The overworld theme of the second game]] is so... Mario. This Orchestrated remix of [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n63YYCjLY80 the overworld theme]] almost sounds professional. And it's just beautiful.

[[AC:''Super Mario All-Stars'']]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHbv0pIjF6I SMB 1 & 3 Underworld]]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuZAZrV97x4 SMB Underwater]]

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OxkybzizhY SMB Bowser Battle]]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8zyd3CNzi0 SMB True Bowser Battle]].
* ''All-Stars'''s version of [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yurf_37IgQM Super Mario Bros. 3's World 7 map theme]] only consists of a few notes, but ''boy'' is it [[EarWorm catchy]]. That's not a bad thing, because the confusing nature of World 7's map as well as the difficulty of its levels means a lot of time will be spent on the map screen. And then [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6odpxWIOvO0 remixed]] for ''VideoGame/FortuneStreet'' for every time you invest in stocks, which happens nearly as often.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq_jS6o3OoY The first Bowser theme]], and of course [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKNcEVU6j3U Final Bowser]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqwLjdJd2k0 Jolly Roger Bay and Dire, Dire Docks]], very atmospheric underwater music.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2Do7JoEnJg The "Psyche Out" minigame in the DS version]] uses a slower version of this song. It's even more relaxing.
** [[http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/14988 This remix by MasterFury is pretty sweet too.]]
** And from djpretzel, [[http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00405/ SunkenSuite]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rygsWPCjNQ Bowser's Road]], which comes right before the Bowser fights. Made better and better in the ''Galaxy'' games as well as the ''Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games'' series. Additionally, ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Melee'''s menu music is somewhat reminiscent of this theme.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-otEdq-Ozo The awesome secret slide music]] (also used as the primary music for [[ThatOneLevel Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride]]).
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEca0w5hKhY The theme played during the end credits.]] It really makes you feel like you've accomplished something.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6q6TKSQIgQ This amazing version]] of the "Underground" music. Funktacular.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hxh2h3P70Q Metal Mario]]. It's the Starman theme from the original Super Mario Bros., turned UpToEleven. See also the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYmY99LRfRY Wing Cap]] theme. Take the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK0vebKhwq0 Starman theme]] (an awesomely appropriate theme in its own right), and add a soaring violin melody over the top for pure awesome. Incidentally, that violin melody predates ''VideoGame/SuperMario64''. It was used in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDGH8CuLP1E the invincibility music in Yoshi's Island]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw5HqClvDCc The main theme as used in the first stage, Bob-Omb Battlefield]] (as well as Whomp's Fortress, Tall Tall Mountain, and Tiny-Huge Island) is pure awesomeness.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6e6kuIIuP0 The hub music]], so good Nintendo has remixed it for many subsequent Mario games.
* Go back, and listen to the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HhdZMpSvXg File Select]] theme a few times. Let the memories soak back in.
** [[http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/9409 This remix by HouseMasta]], also heard in ''VideoGame/SuperMario63'', ain't half bad either.
** [[http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/9993 This remix by MasterFury]], also heard in fan game ''A Koopa's Revenge'', certainly qualifies.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI8jT7LmoNA Cool Cool Mountain and Snowman's Land]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs65jP8GI0o Piranha Plant's Lullaby]] is quite lovely, particularly the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IA9qlZ3ruVc piano version]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emeB83Q6P1I Lethal Lava Land/Shifting Sand Land]]. Probably one of the most [[WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs psychedelic]] pieces of BGM music to ever come out of a video game, and nothing short of awesome. You can almost feel the oppressive, energy-sapping heat of the {{Trope Namer}}s for [[LethalLavaLand volcanic levels]] and [[ShiftingSandLand desert levels]] just by listening to this track.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8UrigJ1yzA Delfino Plaza]]. Plain awesome.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ-dHTnH48A Underwater Exploration]]. Simply beautiful.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4rdtF8eoMc The Book in the Bottle]]. This series has some ''great'' underwater themes.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uFpYEOGqV4 Boss Battle]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPy9ozXbWDE Noki Bay]] has a fitting mysterious vibe to it.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTzQVZprDlM Pinna Park]]. The fun rhythm of the song really makes it clear that it's in a fun {{Theme Park|s}}.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlt_D9zwLz4 final boss]] has an amazingly dramatic piano.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sds9Me67e0E Casino Delfino music]] is very fitting for its setting. It even appeared as a minigame theme in ''Mario 64 DS''!
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr2C0jkVQfE Sirena Beach]]. Don't you just want to say "Screw the mission", park Mario on the beach somewhere and just chill out for a while? Bonus points for the theme sounding slightly ''off'', as if foreboding for the horrors lurking in the hotel. Vaguely ominous yet chill and relaxing? Not easy for a beach theme to pull off.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_syXnbZeVY Delfino Airstrip]].
* Even when [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak04_1naOJs sped up]], they still sound amazing.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDASFSXJkqM Corona Mountain]], a fast and ominous drum-heavy track that really captures the heat and tension of piloting a boat through an active volcano.

[[AC:''[[VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBros1 New Super Mario Bros.]]'' (2006)]]
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqL7YOOxFWY overworld theme]], an upbeat Latin/Samba-esque piece and a great way to get you pumped for a brand new adventure.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83FaRj0oG70 beach theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn9B3kAomb0 castle theme]].
** Remixed and improved even more in ''Mario Super Sluggers'' as heard [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAf0KVM50EM here.]]
** And in ''VideoGame/FortuneStreet'' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7OiALdc1fY here.]]
** There's also a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ay6z65bgW8 remix]] which merges the castle and tower music.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81QYlX-ml8Q desert theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rvMRbcqTfk athletic theme]].
** This [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU3nM7m9w_I 8-bit remix]].
** Now in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTqj_hZpz88 Super Smash Bros]]!
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxZiwWh0Vbg final boss theme]].
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2_KOsD2d4A remix of the Koopalings theme]] from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'', an excellent remix of a memorable tune.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu9p5M9CHOg The underwater theme]].
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9hxJwInyck The volcano theme, from the second half of World 8]].

%%% Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 examples go in AwesomeMusic/SuperMarioGalaxy and AwesomeMusic/SuperMarioGalaxy2

* The hub music is simple and pretty catchy, but special mention goes to the [[spoiler:World 9]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhWK8mlD2fU Map theme]], ''especially'' when the riff from [[spoiler:''Mario Kart 64''[='=]s Rainbow Road]] kicks in.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBSdUI_IpRs overworld theme]], a remix of the DS overworld theme, with a more mellow, retro electronic vibe to it.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzTa02TywFE beach theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt-E4OMWTZE volcano theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kCGMUNYFeE castle theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh7GF-JW0to forest overworld theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQnZHXidoR0 title music]].
* Their remix of 3's classic [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwQ3E2D-z64 Hammer Bros. Theme]]!
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVu1hb2xT-g remix]] of [=SMB3=]'s airship theme.
* Another [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST6V1ew-YC4 excellent remix of the Koopaling theme]] from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3''.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E1iCCo_ZRg underwater theme]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzQmc7Cx86Y underground theme]].
* Somehow, ''New Super Mario Bros. Wii'''s [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxuqG82WEtk athletic theme]] makes accordions awesome.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucru45KA45s final boss theme]] is absolutely ''amazing,'' and is quite possibly one of the best boss themes Bowser's ever had. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq0_av-eVIQ The choirless version]] is no slouch, either, and generally sounds more melancholic. Bowser's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq0_av-eVIQ preceding boss theme]] takes the regular overworld theme, and turns it into a Bowserized DarkReprise. ''And it works perfectly.''
* Can you believe they actually [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAMCgOkj7lQ orchestrated a medley of songs from NSMBW?]] They even have the "bah" down.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSZ_eRAeapo The Final Bowser Battle]]! Suitably epic and fitting for said battle which involves climbing to the top of Bowser's crumbling castle while he does everything he can to stop you.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG-yEMA3zhA The castle theme]] is up to par with the songs in the ''Galaxy'' series despite having synthesized instruments.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiDoI3ZvapY The clock tower music]] is a mechanical EarWorm for a mechanical level.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rOrQK1okuk This music]] makes the [[MusicalGameplay beat block levels]] something special.
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZBt0yYrjv8 attack theme]] which plays on the final Bowser castle.
* And then there's [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIm-diI36ew the main theme]], and its rendition in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7RiV-3C3QI the credits]].
* The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjnz97_8wMk Beach music]]. That song is catchy~!

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffKQuB4bQRA World Mushroom Map.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_4syIqTbno World Flower Map.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWq4uHCPEe4 World Star Map.]]
* The remixes of the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCYIVqucesk SMW boss theme]] and the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=429-FXINEgU NSMBW title screen]] are also pretty awesome.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTP5jw2kNhE The final showdown with Bowser]], easily one of the best final boss themes of any Mario game. The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmEjnRj0-u8 first phase]] is no slouch either.

* To give you an overall idea, most of the tracks in the game were recorded live, with real instruments, much as ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy''[='=]s soundtrack was orchestrated. This should already clue you in on how great they are.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_LV3d6qkTk The main theme/trailer theme]] is pretty catchy.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7KJeuu4Whg The Staff Roll theme]], a jazz rendition of the main theme which is nothing short of pure, unfiltered awesome.
* Both [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtmZJwbLjb0 Athletic]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkizz-EzmPA themes]] sound great.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bafv2jZ300 Sprawling Savannah]] is really catchy, especially with the pan flute.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6MfnbeilTY The Ghost House theme]], an eerily beautiful track made even better by the violin.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k-XrIGobsA The Beach theme]], a track heavily reminiscent of "Make Eggs, Throw Eggs" from ''VideoGame/YoshisIsland''. It sounds perfectly tropical, to the point you'd almost imagine yourself chilling on a beach.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2N_IENndIc Hands-on Hall]], which plays on the {{Wutai}} levels, and mixes traditional Japanese and Chinese styles of music.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMHGioWDZDA Mount Must Dash]], a remix of the Mario Circuit theme from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioKart''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j013gslDr88 This]], which plays during some of the lava and castle levels (4-Castle, 5-3, 5-Castle, 7-1, 7-4, and 7-7, among others). You wouldn't usually associate a pan flute and strings with lava levels, but this theme pulls it off splendidly. It also sounds a bit like ''Franchise/CrashBandicoot''.
* There is also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF0GA_u-XQ4 the jungle level theme]], which has a great beat and atmospheric feel...and also sounds a bit like ''Franchise/CrashBandicoot''.
* The first battles with Bowser are accompanied by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1jmBdJwZBs this awesome track]], made from pure [[AutobotsRockOut rock music]] goodness.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR2pkhRW4CQ This track]] which plays on the tank levels is an epic, military-sounding song, and a worthy successor to ''Super Mario Bros. 3'''s Airship theme.
* The World Map [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWRMSn63yb0 theme for World Bowser]] is an amazingly catchy jazzy beat that matches the {{Egopolis}} Big City/AmusementParkOfDoom theme for the world. Here's an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soHWZeVTx_A 8-bit version]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdXgHUvpAuY Hisstrocrat's boss theme]], featuring a fantastic Benny Goodman-esque breakdown on sax, bass, piano and drums.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw856FnTpvk Puffprod Peaks]], a beautiful, relaxing lullaby heard in starry places reminiscent of ''Super Mario Galaxy''.
* Battle on the Great Tower, Phases [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vhZcqbQI-8 One]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM1b3geh2wg Two]]. An epic pair of boss themes to accompany an epic final boss.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e6aKpLTGqM Motley Bossblob's boss theme]] sounds like your typical bouncy and catchy Mario-series boss battle theme at first... but then it breaks out the electric guitar. Then it becomes pure awesome.

* Even ''VideoGame/MarioIsMissing'' (SNES version, at least) gets a piece of awesome audio. Just listen to the catchy ''Super Mario World'' theme mix that is [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcZTfXyRRrY the Moscow/Cairo music]].
** The PC version also has some good tunes to listen to! Primarly, the song that's played in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCRAOXvjs6A Madrid, Spain.]] This is basically an extended mix of the SNES [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irI5zblfpWE Mexico theme]], which is excellent in its own right.
** While we're on the subject of SNES ''Mario Is Missing'' music, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wliUq8qBuY the Beijing/Tokyo]] and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKxIMHKLo0w the Athens/Nairobi]] themes are also pleasant to listen to.
* ''VideoGame/MarioVsDonkeyKong'' has a few outstanding pieces. In particular, there's the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OQqhR3bqac title theme]] that blends the main Mario and Donkey Kong themes together, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXlz41H3a0M the third Spooky House theme]], the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAq3QOHp-8U Mini Mario Level theme]] (and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vqiAe1UNs0 its remix]]) [[BootstrappedTheme that would become the theme of the series]], and the awesome [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPpIj-121-g TRUE final battle with DK]].

** The NES version has (mostly) completely different music than the Super Nintendo port, calmer and almost...solemn, made even stronger when you realize the NES version was the last first-party NES game ever released in America. Most notable:

*** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53taJgBM4z4 Round Clear.]]
*** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byUzd-8D6cI The Credits theme.]]
* ''VideoGame/MarioPinballLand'' has some pretty nice music, like the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOYyg3Kts9g Puffer Cheep]] Boss theme, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIM1v9rr8g0 Bowser's Themes]] and the theme for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04ROQF6Mopg King Tut]] which seems to be a remix of the Culex theme from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG''.
* ''Game & Watch Gallery 4'' had some catchy music. Some highlights:

* ''VideoGame/PuzzleAndDragons: Super Mario Edition'' reuses themes from ''New Super Mario Bros. Wii'' and ''Super Mario 3D World'' to name a few, but the game ''does'' have some catchy, remixed versions of map themes from previous ''Super Mario'' platformer games. Some highlights:

* Being by Grant Kirkhope (the composer behind games like ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong64'' and ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie''), it's no surprise that ''VideoGame/MarioPlusRabbidsKingdomBattle'' has some fantastic songs. These include but are not limited to...
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU7m1gvK1fs Rabbid Kong boss theme]], which mixes in Jungle Japes from ''Donkey Kong 64'' and sounds a lot like one of the boss songs from said game.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjs3RqiHtXM As does the mini boss theme]], which strikes just the right mix of quirky and epic.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH-cpqE-efw Phantom of the Bwahpera's opera song]] is great as well, and surprisingly has more epic verses in game than it did in the combat trailer. It's been compared to the Great Mighty Poo's song from ''VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay'' for its quality.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NacKNb-No4 Peach's Castle]] gets covered in this game, and since it's arranged by Kirkhope, it's amazing.

** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT4QrtxYjHM Without Getting Burned.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/SuperMarioWorld'' features a dramatic background track specific to that cartoon, almost leaning toward SadBattleMusic. It's first heard when the Paragoombas attack in "Fire Sale."

They all sound incredible and, with the synthetic tunes in the middle, very reminiscent of the original's instrumentation.
** [[http://www.jonnyatma.com/gametal/stage98.html And here's an impossibly epic fan remix of "Showdown at the Tower"]] from ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong94''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkCVdrtYXaQ Here's the equally epic updated version.]]
* This ''amazing'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHjMoNQN7s0 remix]] of the final boss theme of ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii''. While it still has the feeling of finalty to it, it's not as intense as the original version, instead having a more dramatic feel to it, which makes it even better, and just as heart-pounding.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkmqSoi4NDs A SUPER Mario Piano Medley]] is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: a medley of 31 themes from 18 games, ranging from the Hammer theme from ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong'' to the main theme from ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', with a few sound effects thrown in. It's glorious from start to finish, although the best parts have to be the transition from the Rainbow Road theme from ''VideoGame/MarioKartDoubleDash'' to the iconic Overworld theme from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros1'' and the fake-out ending using the Game Over theme from the same game.
* [[https://soundcloud.com/thunderclash/04-dark-lord-bowser Dark Lord Bowser]], which is possibly the heaviest metal cover of any of Bowser's themes to date. This one in particular is a cover of Bowser's ''Super Mario 64'' theme, also incorporating ''Ultimate Koopa'' and the castle theme from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld''. Not only does it sound amazing, but it also makes Bowser seem exactly as threatening as he is famous.
* When Music/SiIvaGunner combines "Jump Up, Super Star" with the theme of ''WesternAnimation/TheClevelandShow'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRqFjzParh4 the result is surprisingly divine.]]
* [[https://youtu.be/YS2-v6nqYQg The Super Mario Super Medley]].
