Awesome Music / No Straight Roads

Go To

If it wasn't obvious enough, the music of No Straight Roads is pure awesomeness!

  • The Main Theme of NSR and "Four Plus", both by Andy Tunstall, have an early 2000s rock sound and are definitely fun, especially accompanied by Bunk Bed Junction's Showstopper at the end of each boss fight. Red Light! Green Light!
  • DJ Subatomic Supernova's theme vs. DJ Subatomic Supernova is a disco theme that starts off chill, then slowly rises as the fight goes on longer until it hits the climax and can get you grooving to the beat.
  • Sayu's Image Song, "vs. SAYU", written by James Landino and performed by Nikki Simmons. The electroclash vibes given off in Megaraph Fortress make a grand comeback, and the lyrics reflect the character's pep while adding to the uplifting spirit of the tune. The vaporwave version is a groovy, soothing take on the song in addition to being a Stealth Pun.
  • Yinu's theme, and all its variations filled with aggressive and tense piano as Yinu herself tries her best to play to keep her mother happy, segueing into heavy dubstep as the mother's anger takes over and she begins to overtake Yinu's performance, or rock for when the Bunk Bed Junction duo is winning. Possibly the most emotionally heavy and stunning musical duel. This all culminates in the final phase when Yinu's emotions explode out of frustration and she plays a short but frantic and emotional piece where her high-speed piano playing dominates the score.
  • vs. 1010, a catchy tune perfect for beating up navy-themed K-pop robots to. As a bonus, there's the version with the attack lines included.
  • vs. Eve, a melancholic, psychedelic vaporwave track that encapsulates the difficult feelings within this woman, and the sad circumstances of this fight.
  • The entirety of the DK West Rap Battles are amazing, but the first one is an excellent introduction to just how fire they can be.
  • Tatiana's boss themes "vs. Tatiana" and the EDM version are headbangers fitting for a final boss. Unlike the other boss themes, both her themes have some emphasis on the rock elements (like the guitar and drums), which is fitting for her past as the rockstar Kul Fyra.
  • "The Long Con-Sequence", a darker, rock version of the Megastars' theme music in a race against time to give control of the districts back to the Megastars before a satellite crashes into Vinyl City and kills everyone.
  • The game's credits theme "Low" by One Eye Closed is an awesomely cathartic rock tune that caps off the ending's optimistic tone.
  • In the "Welcome to Vinyl City" trailer, Mayday sings a short song set to the tune of the overture to The Barber of Seville, which sums up the premise of the game beautifully and is sure to stick in your head.
  • "The City Streets" is a marvelously upbeat and catchy acid jazz tune that would fit right at home in Persona 5.
  • If you liked all of the boss themes, then the Encore Edition improves upon them by making sound cues more obvious by turning them into adlibs that blend in with the track. Not only does it make timing dodges and attacks easier, but it adds more depth to the music.
