Elisabeth is a sung-through musical, so naturally it contains plenty of awesome songs.
- The opening number, "Prolog/Alle tanzten mit dem Tod", is a rare example of a Massive Multiplayer Ensemble Number as the first song in a show.
- "Nichts ist schwer" and its reprise "Boote in der Nacht" are impressive for having the exact same tune... but one is Franz Joseph and Elisabeth singing a cute love song and the other is them sadly acknowledging their marriage is irreparably broken.
- "Der letzte Tanz". A song about being a Stalker with a Crush should not be so awesome.
- "Die Schatten werden länger (Reprise)" is one of the darkest songs in a dark show and is about Death trying to convince Rudolf to kill himself, but it's awesome.
- There's a reason "Ich gehör nur mir" is one of the most famous and most often covered songs in the show. "Doch verlang nicht mein Leben! Das kann ich dir nicht geben! Denn ich gehör nur miiiiiiir!"
