WARNING: Spoilers are off on Awesome Moments pages.

  • For all those who were concerned about the fate of B.J. Blazkowicz, the trailer immediately confirms that he's alive! Our man is truly Made of Iron.
    • Not just B.J., but most of the cast as well! Anya makes a triumphant return, and Fergus and Wyatt are both confirmed to have a role in the sequel (or rather, they both show up in the reveal trailer).
  • Ordinarily a man who wakes up from a five month coma and whose body is damaged beyond repair including imminent kidney failure would be required to remain in bed. But not B.J. When the Eva's Hammer is attacked by the Ausmerzer, he forces himself out of bed into a wheelchair, grabs a machine pistol, and picks up where he left off.
BJ: This is our U-boat now, Nazi. You ain't getting it back.
  • Set Roth killing the Nazis that have boarded the Eva's Hammer, not with guns, but with science!
Set: (having just disintegrated a group of Nazis with his microwave trap) Auf wiedersehen, you piece of dreck.
  • B.J.'s exploits in the New Order have rightfully earned him the nickname of "Terror Billy," the Wick-ian boogyman who kills Nazis by the thousands.
  • Sigrun's Heel–Face Turn - just as Engel is about to decapitate Fergus/Wyatt, she tackles her to the ground and throws him her pistol. Then, when Engel and her men retreat, she runs after them with said ax, screaming bloody murder about Engel reading her diary, even though she's stopped by the closed door.
  • The way Fergus reacts to losing his arm definitely deserves mention. Captured by Frau Engel's men and having been forced to watch her decapitate Caroline, Fergus ends up next on the chopping block and has his arm cut off by Frau Engel. Rather than reacting with pain or horror, Fergus, now freed from the grip of the Nazi grunts, uses it as an opportunity to grab his gun and kill all four soldiers in the room, including the ones restraining B.J. And for the entirety of the ensuing level, Fergus never does anything more than tie his belt around the stump, yet somehow he doesn't die of blood loss.
  • The levels where B.J. fights in the post-nuclear ruins of Manhattan are some of the most visually impressive levels in the game. It makes for an awesome backdrop to gunfights, with B.J. battling it out with Nazis on the rubble-choked streets, collapsed buildings and the dilapidated ruins of the Empire State Building. It's as close as we've come so far to having that long-desired Fallout set in New York City.
  • BJ returns home and kills his abusive father, Rip, for turning his mother in to the Nazis and helping his other like-minded neighbors turn in all the other Jews, non-whites and homosexuals. It goes without saying that Brian Bloom's performance was fantastic in this scene.
BJ: Was a time I was scared of you. Was a time I would piss myself having a gun pointed at my head. You know what I feel right now? (Rip cocks the gun) Not a god damned thing.
    • A minor villain moment for Rip is that he shows his cunning by managing to give away his son's location to Engel before dying leading to BJ getting captured and executed. But then it becomes All for Nothing for Rip when BJ is rescued and given a new powerful body.
  • The courthouse fight. After being sentenced to death, you break free from your shackles and tear through dozens of Nazis while Engel is commanding you to stand down and the best music track in the game is playing, making you feel like a hero. Even the facts that this section is really hard and All Just a Dream don't take away from how awesome it is.
    • It has been suggested that MachineGames couldn't decide how to resolve B.J's situation between the epic courtroom breakout or what really happens (him being tried and executed and then his head is placed on a Ubersoldaten body) so they just found a way to do both.
  • The Kreisau Circle has snuck into D.C. during B.J.'s execution, and set up shop right below the execution site to retrieve B.J.'s head before his brain dies! B.J. gets his friggin' head chopped off and comes back stronger than ever to kick Nazi ass.
  • The contraptions are so satisfying to use especially the Ram Shackles which allow you to run at Nazis and bodyslam them so hard that they explode!
  • For all the trouble Fergus has with his mechanical arm, it's still terrifyingly useful: he can detach the hand and control it, which he uses in New Orleans to facehug a patrolling guard to death.
  • You may have heard and yes, it is true, late in the game you get a chance to kill Hitler with a single stomp to the head while he's curled up on the floor taking a nap. It gets you an achievement and a Nonstandard Game Over, but Christ almighty, does it feel good. Many players have admitted to killing Hitler multiple times, and wished it was the Canon ending to the game, with B.J's Heroic Sacrifice in ending the Third Reich.
    • Speaking of that scene, BJ's reaction to seeing Hitler in person is also pretty awesome; he outright refuses to stand up and yell "Heil Hitler!" at the top of his voice like everyone else present.
  • On Venus, you find a document detailing the Cold-Blooded Torture of Dimitri Federov, who literally laughs and insults the Nazis while undergoing it. Unlike most examples like this, you later get a mission to save him, and are able to get him to the sub alive and under treatment.
  • Fighting Laser Space Nazis on VENUS!
  • Horton's introduction: giving a fire-and-brimstone sermon to the Nazis over a megaphone in the middle of a firefight.
"Don't you Nazis know the Good Book? Love your neighbor and all that? Well, I am a man of God, and the Lord is mighty pissed at you for breakin' His commandments!"
    • Horton's crew is pretty awesome too.
The Professor: [watching through a sniper scope] Streets are quiet, Horton. Nobody's - wait... [gunshot] Yes. Streets are quiet.
    • Immediately after this, Horton and BJ have a whiskey-fueled Rousing Speech argument over whether the world can still be saved.
BJ: Listen pal, I ain't got time for your horseshit. You gotta make the call. Give up and die or step the fuck up.
Horton: Ain't wanting to argue with you, Terror-Billy. I'm too tired to fight.
BJ: You tired? Man, fuck you. [kicks a chair out of the way] I got kids on the way! And I'll be damned if I'm gonna raise them in a world run by these Nazi assholes! So what's it gonna be?
    • And then riding through the ruined street of New Orleans on the back of a fire breathing, reprogrammed Panzerhund, burning Nazi death squads to ash!
  • Anya is also given a shining moment of awesome in the trailer, too. She manages to sneak up on a Nazi soldier and shank him while heavily pregnant with twins!
    • In Set's words, Anya is relentless - the head transplant on Blazkowicz was her idea!
    • At the climax of the game, Anya saves BJ by tackling him out of the way of an ambush and dumping grenades at their feet in the process. When the Panzerhund launches fire at the two, Anya pushes B.J. into a nearby hole of sorts while shielding him. After getting up, Anya rips her burning jacket and top off and then she proceeds to kill the Panzerhund with dual assault rifles while topless and screaming like a maniac. All of this while still heavily pregnant. All B.J. can say is a stunned 'wow'.
  • Sigrun Engel, the daughter of main antagonist Irene Engel, get a major moment near the end of the game. After spending years of being verbally, physically, and psychologically abused by her mother, fate finally throws her a bone when she is "rescued" by B.J. and allowed to join the Kreisau Circle as a defector. But despite her considerable knowledge of the Nazi war machine and its inner workings, her attempts to correct Grace Walker that she is no longer a Nazi when Grace keeps referring to her as one seem fruitless...until Sigrun slaps Grace right in the middle of the meeting.. Sigrun proceeds to put Grace in a chokehold tells Grace that she is not a Nazi, and Grace has no right to treat her as a lesser being. She then proceeded to call out Bombate for cheating on her.
[Sigrun has just finished explaining what the ODIN codes are]
Grace: Well, alright! Now fuck off, Nazi. Now, like I was sayin', we are gonna find that bitch and take her out...
    Sigrun: GRACE!
    Grace: What?!
Sigrun: (slaps Grace so hard she falls over and then chokes her out) Don't! Ever! Call me! A Nazi! Again! I am NOT a Nazi! You do not have the right to label me as something I am not! As someone less than yourself, as someone less than human! SAY IT! SAY I'M NOT A NAZI!
Grace: Alright! Okay! I get it! You're not a Nazi!
    • Sigrun goes on to tell Bombate point blank to his face that she intends to "use his body from time to time for my own personal pleasure." Bombate seems fine with it.
    • And to top it all off, Grace is so impressed with Sigrun that she finally recognizes she underestimated her and invites her along on the mission!
      Grace: Sigrun!
      Sigrun: What?! I'm leaving, okay?
Grace: No, wait! Don't be silly. [laughs] You comin' wit' us!
  • The ending: After covertly capturing the Ausmerzer, the resistance infiltrates the Jimmy Carver Show's set, where Frau Engel, believing that BJ is dead and that she has effectively crushed all resistance in America, is giving an interview. BJ proceeds to split open Engel's head on national television giving her the most ironic yet humiliating and satisfying death. The resistance then uses their new platform to urge all of America to rise up against the Nazis.
    • The end credits imply that anarchist/anti-Nazi militias rise up en masse all over the US and drive the Nazi regime from the nation entirely after a single night of glorious Nazi slaying effectively liberating America.
    • Special mention needs to go to BJ's short, but incredibly cathartic "The Reason You Suck" Speech against Engel, after axing her in the head. After all the shit she put BJ through especially what she did to Caroline in the beginning with an axe, this is the icing on the cake.
Engel: You are dead! I severed your head from your shoulders! I killed you! [grabs her pistol, then screams as Blazkowicz severs her arm with a hatchet]
Blazkowicz: [plunging the hatchet into Engel's face, cleaving it in half but leaving her just alive enough to hear what he has to say, and leaning in] Lady...that the best you got?
    Engel: [gurgling]
Blazkowicz: [ignoring her] Then your best won't do. You're among wolves now. [whispering] And these are our woods. [splits Engel's skull open by twisting the hatchet, killing her]
    • And if Wyatt is alive, he's the one that gives a speech to the masses telling them to rise up. For all his nervousness, it's quite obvious that if he'd gone into politics, like his father wanted, he'd have excelled. He sounds downright presidential.
Grace: My brothers and sisters of the United States of America... don't listen to that lying bitch! These Nazi fucks are all gonna get what's comin' to them. Tonight. We are not. Gonna take it. Anymore. [turns to Wyatt] Go on... Do it...
Wyatt: Americans... Americans, wherever you are. I wish I had words of comfort to give you... like the warm winds that this Nazi general sent down from above. But from me, you will not get comfort. Only the cold... agonizing... truth. And the truth is, this great nation... has been raped, and pillaged, by the greatest enemy of our time. They ask you to sell your liberty, to purchase your safety — to kneel to the new order, to submit to the winds of change, but my fellow Americans! "They that sow the wind... shall reap the whirlwind!"
    Grace: [whispering] Preach...
Wyatt: You were born in the land of the free! You fought the kings of old and broke them! You gave your lives... for the simplest, but most essential truth of all: "Give me liberty, or give me death."
    Grace: [whispering] Right on, Wyatt...
Wyatt: In your veins, runs the blood of revolutionaries! So tonight, brandish your guns, your knives and your fists! Seek out your oppressors wherever they are and tell them: "We don't want nothing. Not a thing from you." Tonight, we show those that sow the wind that we... we are the whirlwind.
    • The end speech of the Fergus route is very impressive too. Horton, Grace and BJ encourage the American people to take to the streets and drive out the Nazis. The wording alone is awesome, but the way they deliver it makes it sound like a sermon, which is appropriate for Horton:
Grace: Oh yeah, it ends tonight. My brothers and sisters of the United States of America, tonight, we the free people of the resistance, ask you to become one of us.
Horton: They's a-lyin'. They's a-lyin' and... they's a-threatenin', they's a-torturin', they's a-killin'... they beat you into submission! (Grace: They beat you!) They've... they made yer, yer very thoughts a crime! But iffen tonight... you gather... speak freely from yer heart? (Grace: Yes.) Oh, you's one of us.
Grace:: Right on. And if tonight we see you on the streets with a knife. Or a brick. Or just your clenched fists, fightin' the powers that be... then you are one of us.
Horton: And iffen tonight but ye look down upon your hands and they's soaked in the blood of our oppressors, then you... is one of us.
BJ: If tonight you hold your babies in your arms, and swear they'll grow up to be free people, then you are one of us.
Grace: Did you forget? They brought this war to our shores. (Horton: Yeah, sister.) And then they beat us. They murdered us; they executed us. But guess what? Tonight, they also find out that they fucked with the wrong country. My brothers and sisters of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, when we stand together, ain't nothing and no one can take our country from us. Tonight... they burn. Tonight... you... are one of us.
  • Much like with Doom (2016), the Switch port of the game, courtesy of Panic Button, really shines here as a faithful port. This time there are no omissions from the launch version of the game, and the gameplay is as smooth as ever, even in docked mode.
  • Some of the NPC conversations on the ship are worth noting. One survivor, Ritva, is detailing her favorite kill method to one of the newly rescued American Resistence members. He asks why that method, and she replies that she remembers the pain of having surgery in that area for appendicitis (without anesthetic due to how poor her village was). She then explains that she refused to cry, even as the local surgeon asked why. Her resposne: "Why cry when someone is saving your life?". The American Resistance member is impressed enough to call her a "badass motherfucker", to which Ritva simply cooly agrees.
