Awesome / The Ship of Fools

Given that it's based off of One Piece, Awesome moments are going to be inevitable.

For the sake of keeping the list at a manageable size, only list things that have actually happened in the stories.

    One Dream
  • The very first chapter opens with a Seaking completely destroying Chris's boat. Chris responds by beating it up and forcing it to serve as a replacement.
    • Shortly afterwards he runs into a group of marines that shot at the seaking. The subsequent fight is so one sided it was more or less an Offscreen Moment of Awesome. Advantage Chris, again.

     Obsidian Voyage
  • The Sherlock Scan Dimitri demonstrates in his very first scene; It takes him a matter of minutes to figure out a significant chunk of Jessica's backstory just by looking at her and picking out a few inconsistencies in her actions. He even works out where she came from and what she's trying to do!
  • Byrn gets a badass one liner in during the bar brawl not long later, threatening to use his weapon
Marley: But this is an enclosed space!
  • Dimitri vs Nelson in the very first chapter. Nelson launches Dimitri completely out of the arena in a single move, only for Dimitri to launch himself back and return the favour, resulting in something of a curbstomp battle.
  • Jessica's fight against Eddie is a pretty solid curbstomp. But it becomes even more hilariously awesome later, when it turns out that Jessica was bluffing. She'd gone into the fight with no weapons except a fake poison, and a relatively weak, but intimidating, Life return ability. It's an impressive level of Guile Hero given the setting, and for bonus points, Word of God has it that she had never fought even once before.
  • When Bergmont was attacking Jessica, Dimitri immediately goes for his gun, even though it would get him into a fight with Weiss. This is immediaely overshadowed by Byrn, who shoots first, stating that it's worth the trouble.

     Wings Of The Wind
Wings of the Wind sadly seems to be a Dead Fic after its first few chapters, but those chapters made for one hell of an opening. Here's a few highlights
  • First off, Kai's introduction in Tatarus. He's been fighting constantly for twelve years, either in the arena, or the training halls. By comparison, most of his fellow gladiators last just three weeks, and don't fight even half as many battles in the same time. And he's still keeping going just in case he gets a chance to escape.
  • The Cipher Pol agent that provides said chance. It takes him less than a second to kill the first of the guards, and then he completely curbstomps the others without much effort, more or less toying with them the whole time.
  • Kai's fight with the Duel Master in chapter three; a sword fight in a very small arena with a finite oxygen supply. Kai wins by moving so fast he leaves afterimages behind him that misdirects his opponent.
