• Lucy Gray screaming "YOU CAN KISS MY ASS!"' at her reaping at the end of her song. It is done in typical Big "NO!" style, and a powerful and thoroughly defiant act towards the Capitol and those who wronged her at home.
• Lucy Gray coming back to save her mentor from the falling debris.
• Coriolanus takes advantage of the poor quality of the supply drones and orders 8 bottles of water at the same time. They cause enough chaos for Lucy Gray to escape into the relative safety of an air duct.
• Reaper arranges the fallen tributes of the 10th Hunger Games, respectfully laying their bodies in a line and crossing their arms over their chests. Much to the horror of the Capitol audience, he tears down a Panem flag to serve as a makeshift burial shroud. He then turns to a nearby camera and spreads his arms, completely calm.
  Reaper: Are you going to punish me now?
  • After the snakes are released, Reaper recognizes he has no hope of escape and chooses to die with his head held high has he’s engulfed. Of all the tributes, it’s the most dignified death of the games.
• As the snakes coil around Lucy Gray after everyone else is dead, she at first softly sings and then starts belting out "The Old Therebefore" as she puts her arm out ready to be taken at any moment—without knowing her safety has actually for the most part been guaranteed, but passionately doing what she loves in the process. The act is more than enough to win every single person watching over. It's only when everyone in the room starts chanting to let her out that Gaul is finally willing to allow her to be pulled to safety and declared the winner.
• Once Lucy Gray realizes that Coriolanus has been lying to her, she can no longer trust him and it might well be fatal to stay with him, she instantly plots her escape and leaves behind a trap to distract him. It's pure bad luck if she did fail to avoid his attempts to shoot her and get away, not any mistake or hesitation on her part.
• Coriolanus' murder of Casca Highbottom at the end. Blink once and you miss Coryo slipping the poisoned vial.
• It's revealed that the Heavensbees are a prominent family in the Capitol, meaning that Plutarch despite coming from that wealth; power and security still would eventually choose to throw in with the rebellion and do everything he could to make sure that they won in the end because it was what was right. It also means he'll succeed where Sejanus failed too. That we hear from his ancestor Hilarius here about making sure his tribute Wovey is well fed and has a fighting chance also shows that it's not a cycle that Plutarch necessarily broke away from with his own actions either—and that members of his own family also had a history of fighting vigorously for the underdog as well. Even with Hilarius delegated to only Meaningful Background Event in the film itself, it still at least gives the impression that it's all still canon even if not shown.
• Thanks to his relationship with Lucy Gray here, Snow is retroactively proud and rather impressed with Katniss's defeat of him in his remaining moments as well as her willingness to prevent President Alma Coin from just continuing the cycle too. He got to end things with one rival dying while another who reminded him of the woman he loved being the final Victor in his battle too.
• Due to Snow's reputation of killing rivals years later, that Gaul likely was killed in an You Have Outlived Your Usefulness way by Snow despite her being the one who molded him into what he became. Even then, the last trace of her evil also dies with Snow too—as does the whole corrupt system she put into place.
