• Steve Leech and the rest of the hands joining Terrill in the canyon, showing that they respect him personally enough to fight, even if they no longer share in his causes for the feud.
• Hannassey proving that he really does abide by his code of honor by shooting his own son is tragic, but awe-inspiring.
  • Jim's way of handling the duel with Buck, after Buck proves himself a coward. Hannaseey orders the duel continue, but Jim just fires off his shot into the dirt instead.
