• Victor calling out his grandfather on his homophobic comments.
• Any time Victor stands up for himself, especially in Season 2 as he grows more comfortable with who he is.
  Victor: Mom, Benji’s my boyfriend, and I’d like you to call him that. Have a good night.
• Then there's him standing up for his siblings. It was partly for himself as well, but Victor gives their parents a harsh reality check about how their fighting is affecting the kids.
• The amount of effort Armando puts into bettering himself for Victor’s sake in Season 2 is its own giant moment of awesome, but special mention should be made for when he gently reprimands Isabel for dodging his invitations to PFLAG meetings. He then gives the love of his life an ultimatum; either learn to accept Victor, or she can forget about them ever reconciling.
• Isabel, after a season of being uncomfortable around Victor’s sexuality and making some serious missteps in how to handle it, immediately stands up to the priest at her new church job for telling Adrian that Victor will go to hell if he’s gay. She says that Victor is perfect as he is, and quits the congregation for her family’s sake.
  Father Lawrence: Isabel, I urge you not to give up on God.
  Isabel: I’m not giving up on God. I’m giving up on you.
