Though Po will have to retire as the Dragon Warrior, Kung Fu Panda 4 has no shortage of awesome scenes as Po looks for a worthy successor.
- What's the first scene of the film? Tai Lung returning from the dead and rampaging. The best part is that this is an introduction to The Chameleon, who is masquerading as him.
- What's the first thing Po does in the movie? He saves the village from a manta villain. His martial arts skills have improved, and he doesn't need the Furious Five helping him as he goes on solo missions.
- The Furious Five are not present at the beginning. The main reason is because each of them are having their own adventures. It shows that, even if they are separate, they are still individually strong enough to bring peace and prosperity to China.
- Shifu reveals to Po that he will no longer be the Dragon Warrior. He will be the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. This sets up the plot of this film. Po must find a student to succeed him as Dragon Warrior.
- The Dragon Warrior auditions show many promising Kung-Fu fighters with incredible skills. Even though Po doesn't choose them as his successors, their skills were still good enough to be recognized by Shifu.
- Po's first meeting with Zhen. She steals from the Jade Palace, using her wits, dirty tricks, and martial arts to hold the upper hand against Po.
- Po wins the fight by trapping Zhen between two blocks with some chains. It shows that Po is not one to be underestimated despite bumbling a lot.
- Po and Zhen's fight scene in the tavern. Zhen uses her agility to steal from the patrons she scammed. For his part, Po shows surprising skill to defeat them, even taking detours to help the bunnies in the tavern and give back the money that Zhen stole.
- Po uses his golden dragon powers to end the fight. It shows that Po is learning to use the staff Oogway gave him.
- Tai Lung shows that he is still a threat when he gives the soldiers of The Chameleon a Curb-Stomp Battle that displays his legendary prowess.
- Props to The Chameleon for how she defeats Tai Lung. She pretends to be one of her defeated soldiers so that she can use her tongue to steal his Kung Fu prowess. She then turns into him and defeats him with his signature nerve strike.
- Po starts training Zhen as the Dragon Warrior. And her training starts with the return of the Furious Five.
- While Zhen gets subjected to the Butt-Monkey treatment with her training, she fares a lot better than Po did in the first film. It's clear that she will be a great Dragon Warrior in the future.
- The Chameleon's ultimate comeuppance: after being defeated and her stolen powers returned to their rightful owners, Tai Lung takes her with him to the Spirit Realm. Seeing a villain so mighty and endlessly evil get punished like this exudes the satisfaction of victory, knowing she most likely won't threaten anyone ever again. It’s all the more satisfying when she begs Zhen for help and Zhen replies with, “Third rule: no one’s interested in your feelings.”
