• Once she discovers Naoki’s horrible secret, Kotoko uses this to her advantage and blackmail him into helping her study and make it to the top 50. This is first time Kotoko has Naoki under her thumb, especially more gratifying after dealing with a heap of his insults. All the more worthwhile since Kotoko did manage to make the exact 50th spot, the first F class student in the history of their school.
• Kotoko giving Naoki a Bitch Slap because he spitefully recited her love letter in front of their families just so he can win an argument. It comes to show that no matter how much Kotoko is dim witted while continuing to pursues Naoki, there are still limits even for her.
• All of class F (minus Kinnosuke) passing the finals and graduating because of Naoki’s tutelage. He initially refused because it wasn’t his problem but Kotoko pleaded otherwise since an entire class had their futures on the lines. Naoki relents.
• When Yuuki has a horrible leg cramp and is in danger of drowning, Kotoko doesn’t hesitate to dive in and save him. But when she nearly drowns from her own leg cramp, Naoki saves her as well.
• Naoki abandoning his entrance exam to Tokyo University to get an ill-stricken Kotoko to a hospital. Kotoko almost moves out because of her extreme guilt at ruining his future at one of the best universities in all of Japan, but Naoki convinces her otherwise because he could have still made it to the exam on time anyway, but decided he’d rather go to the same university as Kotoko. Why? “It be more interesting to keep her around”. Not that he’s attracted towards her.
• At their graduation dinner, both class A and F coincidentally join venues and heads start rolling. Naoki again talks down to Kotoko, and she doesn’t take this well? Her response? Breaks his stoic and shows EVERYONE his childhood photos! Naoki’s reaction says it all.
  • Naoki drags her outside and reprimands her. Kotoko points out he’s never care one bit about her anyway and declares she’ll find someone better than him who’ll deserve her love. Naoki doesn’t take this well and gives her a "Take That!" Kiss, leaving her stunned.
• Fed up with his extremely shipper of a mother and his father planning out his future at the family business, Naoki spells it out that he’s done with them and moves out. Sure he moves back in, but kudos for Naoki for sticking up for himself.
