For the Game Show:

  • During one 1974 episode, a couple drew three consecutive Aces followed by a 2 on their first four turns at the Gambit Board. They were in no danger of busting, since all the Aces could count as 1 to leave them on a total of 5 if necessary, so they chose to keep playing. The next card was a 6, bringing them to 21 and awarding a $500 Gambit Jackpot, a car, and all the prizes they'd found (two trips, camping gear, vacation gear, and $1,500 cash).
  • A 1976 episode had "half-checks" hidden on the Gambit Board, which could award cash values of $500, $1,000, $2,500, or $10,000. If a couple found a left and right half, they were credited with that amount of money. One winning couple collected $500 this way, and also won a $1,000 Gambit Jackpot and a new Chevy Vega by getting blackjack. The winners of the next match completed a $10,000 check on their fourth pick, but were in danger of busting since their hand totaled 13 going into that turn. They got a 5 and chose to stop on 18, allowing them to keep the cash and a cruise they'd found. (The episode is also notable for Wink's loud red/white plaid sportcoat, which he chose out of his own wardrobe.)
  • On the May 14, 1981 edition of Las Vegas Gambit, a Gambit Galaxy of $51,565 was won! Even more awesome, the couple won without getting any doubles or bad rolls.
  • Any big winner on Catch 21, given that it doesn't happen often.
