• The sheer balls of Grigor's escape from Voronezh at the beginning of the Russian campaign - hiding out in the back of a potato truck and driving right past the guys...then returning with a ton of loyal troops from Volgograd (possibly including nuclear bombers).
• And for that matter, Grigor himself. Started out as a political dissident, and when we first see him he's in his twenties. He proceeds to flee Voronezh to Volgograd, where the city rises up in revolt under his command, and possibly gets two other cities and the entire nation of Ukraine to rally behind his banner. Eventually he conquers Russia. No big deal. He has to pass the mantle on to Grigor II so Novaya Russia can pretty much conquer the world, but the point stands.
