  • The apes having assembled an effective formation to hunt for food and defeat the surviving humans.
  • Caesar demonstrating his leadership overall. The apes become silent at the wave of his hand and the humans can barely believe he can speak.
    • Caesar's march to the human city to make a show of strength. It's impressive even before he shows that he can speak.
  • Credit to Dreyfuss, he shows to be a competent and sensible leader before the situation degenerates. He is able to adapt pretty quickly to the news of intelligent apes, and gets his people to hold it together not through intimidation, but by reassuring them and reminding them of how far they have gone. He even agrees to try a peaceful solution first. Overall, it's very easy to see why the people in the city chose to follow and trust him. Even after Koba's attack causes him to jump off the slippery slope, it must be given credit for how he managed to stay hidden and organize a sound conteroffensive.
  • Caesar defending his son from a bear and holding his ground during the confrontation, before Koba arrives.
  • Koba trying to instigate a war to Caesar. The first time, Caesar only has to stand up before Koba begins asking for forgiveness. The second time, Koba says that Caesar loves the humans more than his sons, and Caesar ends up slamming him against the floor and strangling Koba until he gives up!
  • This exchange, also overlapping with Tear Jerker.
Caesar: Let them do their human work. Then they'll go.
Koba: (chuckles, then speaks kinda goofily) Human work?
Koba: (while still smiling, points to a scar on his body) Human work.
Koba: (points to another scar, his smile fades) Human work.
Koba: (finally loses his temper as he points to another scar) HUMAN WORK?!?
    • The last scar in question? Koba's eye.
      • And then Caesar stands up and looms over Koba, cowing the other ape however temporarily with sheer force of personality.
  • Caesar jumping at Koba to protect the other apes, and the final fight that ensues. Then, as Koba hangs over the edge, Caesar pulls him up, but then we hear this:
    Koba: Ape not kill ape.
(Caesar lets Koba go, dropping him to his death)
    • Really, most of their dialogue during this scene qualifies:
    Caesar: Trusted Koba like brother.
Koba: Caesar brother to human! Koba fight for ape! Free ape!
Caesar: Kill ape. Koba fight for Koba.
    • And the best line in the scene?
    Caesar: Koba belong in cage.
    • Also, this exchange:
Koba: Caesar has no place here! Apes follow Koba now.
    Caesar: Follow Koba to war.
Koba: Apes win war! Apes together strong! Caesar... weak.
Caesar: (gestures to the gun Koba is carrying) Koba... weaker.
  • Koba's pose as he strides around Caesar before their fight just looks so badass the way he's holding his assault rifle over his shoulder. It really helps establish how ruthless and confident he is.
  • As Blue-Eyes attempts to free Caesar's ape allies from the bus they're chained in, there's a moment where Maurice smashes his arms through the window of the bus to grab hold of one of Koba's mooks.
    • Just before that, when Maurice gets Blue Eyes' signal that it's time, he effortlessly breaks free of the chains that had been holding him. In case you forgot that, gorillas aside, Maurice is physically the most capable of Apes.
  • Koba has several...
    • Killing a bear with a spear.
    • He fools two humans who catch him red handed at their arms supply and walks away simply by behaving like a silly chimp. Then he comes back like before acting entertaining, then kills them both promptly with one of their own guns.
    • During the attack against the humans, he leads at the front, dual wielding machine guns on horseback, and is overall able to boost morale for the apes to obtain victory, taking over a tank in the process.
  • At the dam, when Koba runs around angrily he pushes over Alexander and is about to attack him, but Maurice stands in his way and stands all upright, showing off how big he is, and drives him away. Koba has killed an actual bear (albeit with a spear) but he's still not going to mess with Maurice.
    • When Maurice gets serious he can flip a bus!
    • And breaks his chains effortlessly, meaning he had simply been biding his time until then.
  • Caesar and Blue Eyes going ape when Carver attacks Caesar's baby. Caesar puts him to the ground in one slam.
  • The gorilla desperately dragging apes to safety and out of the line of fire during Koba's assault on the human compound, even after getting shot himself.
  • The one time Maurice speaks is a moment in itself, given that up until that point, he's managed to convey his intelligence with sign language only. It's also a bit of cunning on his part as he does so to save Malcolm and his group from certain death, as he has immediately correctly deduced that Koba was framing them for Caesar's death.
    Maurice: Run.
  • During the assault on the human compound, one gorilla effortlessly throws a flaming oil canister at a group of human gunners and takes out their defense.
  • Koba versus tank. Koba wins.
