Awesome / Bull Durham

  • "Who are you? Who's he?" "I'm the player to be named later." Best entrance line ever.
    • And then it turns out that a few years ago, when the assistant manager was a minor-league pitcher, Crash beat him with a walk-off home run, which he has photographic memory of.
      • Not really. Hitters remember all of their home runs - the count, the outs, the men on base. All of them.
  • Bull Durham itself is considered one of the best sports movie, arguably the best baseball movie, of all time.
  • One of the best apologies for drunken behavior ever on film: "I have been known on occasion to howl at the moon."
  • Crash is hitting his way for career home runs in the minors. This is a subverted trope of Awesome, however, because it's a record he's not really proud of mentioning, and few other people even know he's reaching it. He gets cut from the Bulls before he can break the record, but he signs on to another minor league team to finish out the season and break that record. No one other than Annie takes note of it.
