• Billie and Gladys stand head to head against Jack Kramer and Bob Sanders in the beginning when the men argue their case for paying the women players less because they are "less exciting" despite the fact that the women players are pulling the same number of asses in seats and even threaten to boycott and set up their own tournament. All after marching in the mens-only (except for waitresses) cigar room.
• At the beginning of the movie Billie Jean wins the 1972 tennis championship, the first woman and Californian to do so. She even gets a call from President Nixon congratulating her especially for the latter.
