Awesome / Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts

  • The film starts off simple enough, with Batman out on one of his patrols. Batman fires his grappler as he starts his patrol, then...the cape turns into a glider that would make Terry envious.
  • In their first confrontation, Cheetah acquits herself surprisingly well against Nightwing. Though she still needed some help from Killer Croc.
    • Even then, when Cheetah goes to complete her mission, Nightwing starts to dominate Killer Croc, who only escapes defeat thanks to Cheetah helping him. What makes it better was that at least Cheetah fared well in her single fight against Nightwing compared to Killer Croc, who was getting beaten by the much smaller hero. The reason why she even needed help was because one of Nightwing's sticks released electricity that he used to stun her just when she had him pinned down.
    • The arrival of the Flash to make the fight even between Nightwing and the duo if Cheetah and Killer Croc. From the villain's side, the fight turns out to be a Curb-Stomp Battle in their favor. Killer Croc takes Flash's Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs with no damage at all before defeating him in one blow while Cheetah lands a few blows on Nightwing before finishing him off with a Murderous Thighs maneuver that throws the masked hero into the recovering Flash, allowing the villainous duo to escape.
  • Penguin not only defends himself from some street punks. It's also a complete Curb-Stomp Battle, and all in his favor.
  • The fights at the zoo count as this for the heroes and villains. The villains use environment that suit their namesake and abilities, while the heroes find ways to hold their own against them.
    • Batman fights Cheetah, both of them showing their skills at hand-to-hand combat. In a display of good animation, Batman puts Cheetah's arm in a lock, and she retaliates be bending her body to the side to hit him with her knee. At one point, she feints a kick that results to be a swipe that knocks Batman from the tree on which they were fighting on to put him at the mercy of the cheetahs below. She also uses good acrobatics with a feline touch on the jungle trees to hide and attack from above. Batman has to use an explosive Batarang to knock her down. She lands on her feet and then attacks Batman again. Batman retaliates with a Batarang that she catches in her mouth. As she teases him, Batman smiles and presses a button, revealing that it was an explosive Batarang that defeats her.
    • Green Arrow and Killer Croc in the swamp is quite a good fight. Killer Croc uses his tough hide to tolerate Green Arrows tricked arrows before sending crocodiles after him. Despite the added difficulty, Green Arrow defeats the crocodiles and goes on to fight Croc with a net arrow. Killer Croc retaliates by tying up Green Arrow. You want to know how does Green Arrow respond? He grabs an arrow with his feet and the bow with his feet and then shoots it at Killer Croc. By the time Killer Croc goes after Green Arrow, he falls unconscious due to the arrow having tranquilizers.
    • Flash has his moment as well. After chasing Silverback, he falls for a snare trap and is abandoned to become the plaything of the gorillas. Flash escapes by rubbing the rope at super speed with his foot to burn it with sheer friction. Afterwards, he chases after Silverback. The gorilla is left stunned at Flash's escape as Flash uses his speed clones to trap him and then hits him from above. Even the gorillas in the zoo thought that it was awesome.
    • The fight between Nightwing and Red Robin against Man-Bat is awesome enough as two members of the Bat Family personally trained by Batman himself are working together. They find the sleeping Man-Bat in a cave and start the fight by waking him up. His response is to send his bats to attack Red Robin and then he kidnaps him. This triggers Nightwing's Big Brother Instinct as he chases after him, knocking him down with one electrified stick later. But the fight is not over yet, as Man-Bat is outside of the cave and still inside the zoo, noticing that his companions are handcuffed. Man-bat then proceeds to get the best out of Batman and the heroes before releasing the villains and helping them escape.
      • Perhaps the best part is that Man-Bat is the only one of the villains who won his fight against MORE than one hero. It shows that he is quite a valuable asset to the team.
  • A small one is Green Arrow managing to tie up Cheetah and Silverback. Granted, they escape a little bit later and are ready to fight him again but it's still a triumph no matter how brief. The Flash arriving to even the odds makes the moment more epic.
    • Another one is Cheetah knocking Flash to the ground by sidestepping a high-speed charge and then extending her leg to trip him. She then attempts a Finishing Stomp to Flash's head in the form of an ax kick. Luckily, Flash got away from her foot before the kick connected.
  • After being the Butt-Monkey for the majority of the movie. Flash not only holds his own against the cat-bot, but he also soundly defeats it.
Flash: (as he's racing the cat-bot) I'm impressed. But I'm guessing there's still something I can do that you can't. (stops just before hitting a wall, while the cat-bot fails to do the same and crashes) I can stop.
  • Two words:
    "Ace, come!"
