  • During the initial invasion, Nam-Yi and Ja-In's adoptive father (the local governor and former military man) takes up his sword and manages to kill several of the invading Manchu singlehandedly.
  • Again during the initial attack on the village, Nam-Yi is intercepted on the road by the Manchu prince and his personal elite troops. They send one mounted soldier to attack him, expecting Nam-Yi to be an easy kill. When it's all over, Nam-Yi's killed two of the soldiers (including one from a seemingly impossible angle) and survived falling off a cliff and being left for dead.
  • Nam-Yi's covering Seo-Goon's and Ja-In's escape, holding the Manchu prince hostage all night, then setting the prince on fire and successfully fleeing on horseback.
  • Seo-Goon's You Shall Not Pass! play at the river crossing. He starts walking unarmed, then dodges a sword swing at his head, knocks his assailant off his horse, and seizes his fallen sword. Seo-Goon then kills that soldier, the Dual Wielding soldier that the Manchu commander sends at him next, and (with an assist from Nam-Yi) the Manchu commander himself.
  • The old man who is translating at the river crossing also gets one for being insightful enough to realize that the Manchus' offer of freedom is empty, and brave enough to convey it to the prisoners in full view of the Manchu commander.
  • Ja-In saving Nam-Yi from an arrow fired by Jyuushinta by shooting the horse out from under him.
