What better way to start a new friendship than by accidentally kidnapping someone who was being drowned in a bayou? Carter and Sorrel make their way across the country to not only survive their constantly breaking down car, but also threats from a murderous siren.

Transmission Folklore is a Urban Fantasy Audio Drama Podcast and the first Lavender Lemonade Collective production.

Information about the series, as well as transcripts and links to published episodes, can be found on its website.

Transmission Folklore includes examples of:

  • Accidental Kidnapping: The story begins with Carter trying and failing to explain why Sorrel woke up in his car's passenger seat.
  • The Alleged Car: Carter's 2006 PT Cruiser. It is noted to still have the chrome exterior...except on the driver's side door, which had to be replaced after a crash several years ago.
  • Didn't Think This Through: While running from Emery, a siren, Carter realizes (at Sorrel's nudging) that driving into Louisiana near the Mississippi River might not be the best idea.
  • Our Sirens Are Different: Sorrel was almost drowned by a man with an enthralling voice and a fish tail, specifically called out by Carter as a siren.
  • Road Trip Plot: The entire series is Carter and Sorrel on the run from a murderous siren, driving across a chunk of the American south.
  • Trans Tribulations: The creators have explicitly stated that the series is about "the intricacies of LGBTQ+ identities."
  • Urban Fantasy: The series has sirens and other strange things running around modern day Texas.
  • The Villain Knows Where You Live: Emery threatens Sorrel and Carter with his song and Sorrel does not take him seriously...until he mentions Carter's peach-patterned shirt.
Sorrel: [gasps] Oh, shit. Carter. CARTER WAKE UP!
