The second movie in the animated Happy Heroes series from China, Happy Heroes 2: The Battle of Planet Qiyuan (开心超人2:启源星之战) released on July 18th, 2014.

The Supermen participate in a Superman Race, only for Happy S. to be roped into an adventure with Big M. and Zelia that involves them meeting Supermen from the planet Qiyuan. During their unexpected visit with these Supermen, Happy S. unravels the secret behind a villainous conspiracy.

The film was uploaded to YouTube by the official Happy Heroes channel here, with English subtitles.

A third movie, Happy Heroes: The Stones, followed in 2022.

Happy Heroes 2: The Battle of Planet Qiyuan contains the following tropes:

  • The Big Race: The film starts out as one, with the characters running in a Superman race.
  • Cartoon Throbbing: The gang visits a secret museum of various relics such as weapons and clothing left behind by famous superheroes. Big M. sees and attacks an oddly familiar-looking red-and-blue colored, web-shooting glove, resulting in his hand being injured and his fingers throbbing.
  • Cephalothorax: The Supermen of Planet Qiyuan have cube-shaped bodies with arms and legs.
  • Dramatic Drop: When Little M. sees Big M. has been dragged into the same Planet Qiyuan prison cell he's in, he's so surprised that he drops a mug in his hands, and it shatters on the floor.
  • Expy Coexistence: Mr. Lightbulb intends to hire Aprilday, a band which is a reference to the Taiwanese band Mayday, for the competition. When he is told he isn't able to book them, he asks if he can hire the real Mayday instead.
  • Life Meter: The participants in the Superman race are all given HP meters and are out if their gauge is lowered completely.
  • Multilingual Song: The otherwise all-Chinese song "Evil Eyes" contains the English verse "Life is rough, so you gotta be tough/Life is wonderful, so you gotta be cool".
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: The film features a band named "Aprilday", a reference to the Taiwanese band Mayday.
  • Numbered Sequel: Happy Heroes 2: The Battle of Planet Qiyuan.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Big M. dresses as Beauty S., who happens to be nearly lawsuit-inducing levels of similar in appearance to Sailor Moon.
    • Mr. Lightbulb is trying to look for someone to perform during the competition. He finally manages to get a band called "Aprilday" to perform, a shout out to the popular Taiwanese band Mayday. On top of this, he mentions not only the actual Mayday by name, but Will Smith and Adam Lambert as well.
  • Synchronized Swarming: Big M. is chased by a bunch of bugs that are flying at him in the shape of a syringe and are sucking at his HP meter. Happy S. punches the bugs away.
  • That Syncing Feeling: One scene has Happy S., Zelia, and Big M. pretending to be the band Aprilday. Big M. breaks out into a rather impressive singing voice for their concert... but then the battery on his phone goes dead, and the audience gets mad at them as they realize he was lip-syncing the music he had playing on that phone.
  • Villainous Rescue: Big M. puts aside his hatred of the Supermen for once to save them from having their energy drained. He destroys the energy-draining machine by having Little M. (in Lighting S.'s costume) zap him with his lightning, since the lightning always hits Big M. every time he uses it.
  • The X of Y: Happy Heroes 2: The Battle of Planet Qiyuan.
