AotS Chapter 4: Nome Sweet Nome

Written By: Thomas
POV: Third person, brief switch to first person
Deaths: Horus (1)

Carter and William find the Nome in the Catacombs of Koi El Sheaf. The fact that there are bodies of "deaf Christian markers" clearly shows that it's enemy territory, and that the author can't spell it any better. William feels somewhat scared, but Carter isn't, since he has been there before.

Carter asks William to baptize him and induct him to the Prayer Warriors, although one would think that considering he might die in the battle, he'd ask Carter to do it first to save his soul. William agrees, but asks Carter to show him to the god so he can make him suffer.

Some Satanic magicians with dark and rotted teeth arrive. William draws his sword, ironically named Forgiveness, and demands that they beg him for forgiveness if they want to live. They refuse, so William kills them by cutting off two of their heads and stabbing one in the stomach when he laughs at his comrade's death. With this little empathy between villainous characters, it's a wonder how they can even cooperate.

Horus soon arrives, determined to kill his two enemies to demonstrate his power as a god, and to make Cater suffer for betraying them. Carter stabs his eyes out, apparently causing Horus to kill "his whore of a wife, Baste," who had never been mentioned until now, by mistake, much to his horror. The Prayer Warriors have No Sympathy for him given the number of Christians he killed, and William finishes him off by stabbing him In the Back before cutting his head off and putting it on display, further proof that this is "The Evil Gods Part 1" in Egypt.

Next Chapter: Draco and the others fight their first Titan.
