Eclair notes that Oarai has recovered, but believes that since Maginot is chasing them, they still have the advantage. Miho notices that Maginot has changed their core strategy, but realizes that's not all there is to it.
Eclair thanks her loader for doing double duty as a loader and radio operator, and her loader says that it's so that Eclair can focus on her duties as commander. Meanwhile, another tank's commander orders a serpentine movement.
Saori notes that the others are almost in position, and Miho begins Operation Baton-Touch. Eclair realizes that Oarai's strategy was a ruse, and prepares to deal with Oarai once they've gathered together. At that point, though, the M3 Lee passes by them and fires with the turret facing behind, and Hana fires on a SOMUA, causing Eclair to realize that she made a mistake. Soon after, Duck and Turtle Teams fire.
Eclair orders Club Bleu to break away, and they do... into the path of the StuG, with its stationary gun. Hippo Team fires, getting a hit that will almost certainly disable the Club Bleu tank.
This part of the chapter was fairly short, and while it's clear that the battle will go on for another installment or two, as of this writing I'm not sure whether the next installment will be about Chapter 7, Part 3 or Chapter 8. It's nice to see Oarai take the advantage, and see of the sides take casualties, but it does make me wonder how long this battle will go on.
- Next Installment: Having suffered losses against Oarai, Eclair is forced to realize that her new strategy is no more effective than her old one.
