Little Army 2 Chapter 2: More Than Just A Knockoff

Nagisa, in spite of all the pressure, refuses to cheat, saying that she would rather give up tankery. Kilimanjaro slaps Nagisa across the face, and says that she's "the foolish sister," who may not have the family's blood in her. As Nagisa calls her "Kiri-nee-sama", Emi then reveals herself, and is outraged to hear that they're sisters. Ordering Nagisa to stay behind her for her protection, Emi points out that scouting isn't against the rules, much less any reason to stop someone from doing tankery. Kilimanjaro clarifies that she's going to force Nagisa to stop.

Emi, getting Cross-Popping Veins, tells Kilimanjaro not to make her laugh, but Nagisa says she understands how her sister feels, since she'll have to retire after the tournament and this is her last chance. Kilimanjaro, in an unusually somber and restrained manner, tells Nagisa not to blurt that out, but Nagisa, undeterred, says that Kilimanjaro wanted to fight Darjeeling for real.

Emi concludes that Kilimanjaro's aware she's just a fake. Kilimanjaro admits this, saying that she was impressed by seeing Darjeeling for the first time, and hoped to become like her. She says that regardless of what she wants, she'll have to take over the family business next year. Emi, however, still refuses to accept that she could do such a thing to her sister- this might have been a good point for Emi to bring up her own sister, or her own insights gained into the Nishizumi sisters' relationship, but she doesn't. Kilimanjaro asks whether Emi would say that if it was her own "deathbed", and says that since the ruse has failed, she'll fight fair and square. She leaves, asking Emi to take care of Nagisa, and Emi grouses that matches are supposed to be fair and square.

Nagisa bows deeply in apology, saying she couldn't do anything and offering to withdraw, since she can't compete as a spy. Emi says that she's right, but will have to stop being a spy, and leads her by the hand back to the team. Nagisa confesses what she has done. The rest of the team's relatively understanding, resolving to triumph against Seiguro, even if Neko and her gang want to know Nagisa's sister's weaknesses.

The Kashiwaba sisters arrive with a Type 10 MBT (Ami Chouno's tank), which they got with "the power of money", but which Emi says is illegal for tankery. Emi instead gives them a Panzer II, which she says is right for their body size.

The battle begins, and this time, it's a flag tank match, with Seiguro's mechanics and spares watching.

Emi proceeds with her plan, and tells Nagisa to focus on the match. She attacks the two Matildas ahead, even though it's clearly a diversion. The tanks fire, even though the Panzer II's firepower is too low, and they are set upon by the 8 remaining Seiguro tanks to take advantage of the lack of turrets on the Jagdtiger and Elefant, which Emi expected. Emi then uses the tanks as bait and flanks Seiguro, taking down one of their tanks. Unfortunately for Emi, Kilimanjaro is on to her, knowing that outnumbered forces can't afford to be surrounded, and plans to take out one side first. Emi has to admit that Kilimanjaro may be underhanded, but she's a good commander, ceasing the bait operation and taking down two tanks. Unfortunately, a skilled Kilimanjaro gunner takes out Bellwall's T44 and Panzer II (much to the irritation of the Kashiwaba sisters).

As Bellwall retreats, they're faced with a three against seven match (better odds than most of Oarai's matches). Neko and Chifuyu doubt they can win, but Emi is sure they can, as long as they take out the Black Prince. Unfortunately, the Churchill will act as a shield, and Emi's forces didn't bring down as much of the enemy as they thought. Emi concludes that they can only win with a suicide attack, one that Neko and Chifuyu both agree to (For being bitter rivals, they agree more often than not).

Once again, Nagisa is the only one who isn't confident, not having hit a single shot in the match. She asks someone else to take over, but Emi bluntly refuses, telling her to stand on her own and do her job.

With a surprise attack, Chifuyu takes down two tanks and Neko rams the Churchill, opening the way to the Black Prince. However, Kilimanjaro backs up, forcing the Tiger to do a sharp turn and throw a track.

All in all, it's nice to see Bellwall being challenged in spite of their strong tanks, and struggle even against a St. Gloriana knockoff.

Next Installment: Oarai's outtakes from their movie are shown.
