Part Two: The Rise of Riolu-Man

Several things happened when we last left off Snivy and his friends(?). Amazingly, stuff actually happened halfway through the video. On the bright side, this time we get a Genre Savvy protagonist who will hopefully help me survive this claymation crap.

Episode 2 out of ???

We start by jumping straight to an Establishing Shot of some building. It's made out of twigs and leaves or something, so is it a hut? A drug dealer's shack? A shrine to Alex's Nintendo fetish?

Nope, apparently it's Pikachu's house. And it's not even an old, worn-out house like Rosy's is, it's his new house.

Snivy: ...THAT'S a HOUSE?

Pikachu apparently still thinks that just by finding "the right materials", he can make this house into something that's actually presentable. I don't see how that would work. Shouldn't Pikachu just go and I don't know, BUY A REAL HOUSE??? Maybe get something Alex doesn't have, like maybe a job or a freaking life?

Pikachu leads Snivy into his "house", but apparently Alex couldn't finish a animation of him actually enter the house, so the scene just changes abruptly. Pikachu brags about the interior design skills he lacks, only to be interrupted by something. HALLELUJAH! I think we could finally be getting something interesting happening!

Emolga is outside looking for a "rescue team" (whatever that's referring to). He/she (I can't tell it's gender, since the ratio of gender for Emolga is 50/50) hopes that our heroes can help him/her. Apparently, "some guy" stole "something important" of his/hers, and [s]he needs to get it back. Could Emolga at least specify who/what was involved, so nobody would have to guess what [s]he was referring to? Emolga just met these guys ten seconds ago, so could [s]he not jump to these points so quickly. God, I'm only less than a minute into the second episode, and I'm already seeing major Plot Holes. Even though Snivy and Pikachu are NOT part of a "rescue team", they go and help him/her anyway, even though they just meant. Emolga says it's far too dangerous, then-

Did someone say danger?

Enter Riolu, or as he occasionally calls himself, Riolu-Man. He's by far my favorite character in this series so far, simply due to him being Keet! He likes to make up stories about his explorations with his (possibly made-up) team called the Rioluettes (though I personally think that Riolettes is shorter and catchier, but that's a cute name either way). In conclusion, we should all surrender to Riolu-Man for being this crappy claymation's one redeeming factor.

Wait, you want me to watch the last thirty seconds of this video too? Fine, I'll do it.

Emolga explains to Riolu-Man that the thief was last seen at the Crystal Caverns. Doesn't [s]he mean the Crystal Cave from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers? (searches the Crystal Cave on Bulbapedia)

So, now I know that Riolu-Man exists because Riolu can be encountered in the Crystal Cave. Riolu-Man dashes straight into the caverns, because he's a cool guy. Like all good writers and viewers, he wants to get to the action as soon as the story allows it. Emolga is suspicious of Riolu-Man. Emolga, you should just relax and let Riolu-Man take over the show.

What's that, the video's over? Awww, just as I was getting to the good stuff.

What will happen to Riolu-Man? Find out next time!
