It's raining fish, hallelujah!

Down in the Shuttle Bay, James and Steve are arguing which vehicle is better, the Mako or the Hammerhead. Guys guys guys, they're both pains in the ass!

(To be honest, I kind of had fun in the Mako. When I wasn't getting stuck or flipping end over end, that is.)

Liara talks about how hard it must've been for Falere to see her mother die, and that it reminded her of seeing Benezia die. She says that at least she knew her mother, and that Falere never had that chance. Yeah Liara, I'm sorry, maybe it had someting to do with Samara never taking the fucking time to visit the fucking monastery. When she had centuries.

All right all right all right, I'll go to the bloody Citadel, you shore-leave-wanting, e-mail-sending, able-to-talk-about-nothing-else squad! Geez.

I may have to go to a new area of the Citadel, my personal apartment that used to be Anderson's (which he doesn't need any more because he's stuck on Earth), to begin the Citadel DLC. But for now I'm turning in side missions where I get stuff I overheard somebody saying they needed from different planets and give it to them, and I'm running by a private who is asking her superior to be stationed somewhere she can fight Reapers instead of Cerberus, because she thinks she'll be better at fighting Reapers. Sure, you just keep telling yourself that.

Garrus is hanging out near the docks telling me that we could do something fun, if I'm feeling up to it. That sounds like it could easily be taken out of context. (Particularly if he says that to everybody who passes by, instead of just me.)

Aw man, one of the dead krogan I found back on that rachni mission was the poet from the last game? I just delivered his dying message to the asari I talked into getting back together with him. That sucks.

Well, Miranda wanted to see me about something. Bad news about her sister, so I'll go and talk to her now.

What a difference a game makes, as if that hadn't been demonstrated already! Miranda is now being hunted by Cerberus, and her father is working for them! She must feel like an even bigger idiot than Shepard, given how much she trusted the Illusive Man for such a long time.

Din Korlack, the anti-human volus ambassador from the first game, apparently acted as a mole for Cerberus. I'm listening to his recorded communications now, and in the first entry he had reservations about the way Cerberus was fighting the Alliance. His Cerberus contact told him it was necessary to end the war. Huh? How? You know what, okay, fine, I suppose that crippling the Alliance so that we get overwhelmed by the Reapers and all get killed/turned into husks would, technically, qualify as an end to the war.

In entry two, he is pissed after witnessing the attack on the Citadel. Cerberus basically tells him that he's in too deep to quit now.

Zaeed kidnapped or killed him? Great.

Well, fortunately he's alive, and I got him out of trouble and wound up with some war assets to boot.

So, Javik attracted a bit of a crowd near the embassies since people realized "Hey, that's an actual Prothean!" and began giving a morale-killing doom and gloom speech before I stopped him with a Paragon prompt and got him talking about how there was still a chance to win. The main difference that Javik ought to see is that the Protheans got wiped out partly because the Reapers were able to attack them by using the Citadel as a mass relay. But this time, they haven't been able to do that, so we're starting out from a better position than the Protheans were, I would think.

After a ride to the top of the Presidium, Garrus echoes Jack from earlier in making fun of my horrible dancing.

Oh man, I am so jealous of Joker right now. EDI's telling me about how their relationship progressed, and one of the things she says is that when she presented her new body to Joker, he said she didn't need to conform to some feminine ideal in order to impress him. Then she says, and I will try to use her exact words here: "I then called him on his bullshit, and he proceeded to speak more normally." :D

JOKER: I always thought this place would be cool if it didn't involve so much walking.

EDI: If you are in pain, I could carry you.

Oh, that private who wanted to fight Reapers? Turns out her brother recently joined Cerberus. Ouch.

Anderson's given me a nice apartment! Damn!

After listening to Anderson's biography notes lying all over the place, I go to meet Joker for sushi. There's a long line, but I'm Commander Fucking Shepard so I get in. So long, suckers!

I can never have nice things. My dinner with Joker is interrupted by somebody from Intelligence telling me I'm being targeted for assassination, and then some mercs barge in and fire off their guns looking to find me and kill me. But a well placed SHEPARD BIOTIC PAWNCH and there, I have a gun now.

That ended with another really long fall which I can't see how I could've survived, although at least this time Shepard is acting like he's in pain.

The glass floor I fell through had fish swimming under it, and now there are dead fish all over the place. One NPC: "It's raining fish?"

The fish are not as good at walking away from long falls as Shepard. Or walking at all. Or surviving out of water.

Haha, this probably didn't make the game's CMOF page, but I laughed at it. I'm walking through a storehouse for frozen fish that turn out to be separate from the fish who plummeted from the restaurant with me, and I run into this salarian who works there, just having a smoke and chillin'. (I swear I did not intend to make a pun about being in a meat locker, basically, and only realized the potential for one after I typed that.) So the salarian sees this strange human walking around his place of work who is presumably not authorized to be there, and the human is brandishing a pistol, and what does the salarian do? Just says "hey" and goes back to his cigarette.

Oh great, mercs on this next rooftop. I haven't had a chance to be all stealthy before now, but I guess I'd better learn quick, since this seems to be a "pick 'em off one by one without getting noticed" section of the game...

Or I could just Biotic Charge over and over to replenish my shields before they can be taken down and shoot the guys until they die. That also works.

Datapad by a fruit stand: "I know you're licking the fruit when I'm not around. Stop that. Seriously."

Joined by Liara now, and WREX! That guy sure knows how to make an entrance!

So we've been rescued now, and we head back to my new place to figure out what's going on.

I can't help but wonder if Brooks is part of this plot to kill me somehow. She did just tell me not to contact Bailey because that would presumably make him a target, although being head of C-Sec I have to assume he's very well-guarded.

Shore leave might not have gone as planned, but for now the whole squad can relax at my apartment before heading out to do...whatever!

Hey, didn't Zaeed try to burn down an entire factory full of innocent, gang-pressed people in the name of revenge? Where's the condemnation for that?

I haven't forgotten that, and I was disgusted by it. If Zaeed decides to shoot himself the same way Samara did, I'll be quite happy to sit back and watch.
