Part 3a:Gambling made so easy, even a Barrylocke can exploit it! [1837 - Crash Bandicoot Advance - Wakuwaku Tomodachi Daisakusen! (J)]

Crash Bandicoot Purple continues!

Ok, I finally got that Chopper game, meaning that I finally beat the level. Back at the Jewel gate, I cash in my hard earned gems and go meet the level's final challenge. Oh crap, it's Spyro. Guess he's the boss of this level. Yes, this minigame bonanza does have bosses apparently.

But wouldn't you know it; the boss fight might as well be a minigame. Spyro is on one side of the field, and you're on another. The B button lets you throw Molotov Cocktails at each other, which is a very interesting weapon choice I might add. You technically aren't hitting the player, but rather the ground under them. Enough hits knock away that piece of ground, trapping the player. You can repair the missing ground pieces, but this takes time. To win, you have to knock the earth beneath the player’s feet away so they plummet to the ground. This one was kinda tricky, but after a few tries, I managed to pull it off. The trick was to remember that getting hit with a cocktail doesn't kill you, unless it happens to be the hit that makes the ground fall apart.
Spyro was attacking me because he thought I was attacking his people, but after getting a close look, he realizes this isn't the case. After Spyro and Aku Aku clear up the misunderstanding (not Crash because apparently he can't talk) we realize that Crash's enemy Dr. Cortex has teamed up with Spyro's enemy Ripto. We have no choice but to TEAM UP!
Level 2! Slippy-Slidey Ice World time!. Who loves ice with weird friction? I know I do! Anywho, it's time for some COOL minigames?!
Crash and Burn: This game is kinda like those Rocket Barrel levels in Donkey Kong Country Returns, but much less diabolical. You use A to rise up and release to lose altitude. Reach the end, get crates for the Clear Gem, try not to hit the ground. Not too hard.
Crate Step: Race through a course, trying to destroy the crates along the way. A bit tough because it's with a time limit and the crates also double as platforms half the time. There's also a crate that changes Crash's Pants for some reason. Despite the crates that stop the clock, the time limit really doesn't leave you with any room for error. I managed to complete it with 1.73 seconds remaining.

Here we have a shop/betting game thing. You pay 15 wumpa fruit to spin the wheel and possibly win prizes. TBH, this must be one of the most broken gambling games I've ever seen in a videogame. Check it out. The key on the left tells you what you win if you hit the color. As you can see, 2 out of the 4 possibilities leads to more wumpa fruit than you pay to get in, and 1 choice leads to one of the trading cards you collect. This means that unless the game is rigged so that you get Green more often than it seems (from what I've seen this isn't the case), you can earn Wumpa fruit and prizes just by playing this. And that's exactly what I did. To be fair, it CAN be hard to collect the trading cards with this game, but even still, a roulette board that lets me win 75% of the time is waaay too generous.

Crate Smash: Same thing as Crate Step, just a different layout. Not even worth a pic.
Polar Express: This game is a milestone...it's the first repeat game, not counting the Crate Smash/Step, which was technically bonus games that weren't required. This one repeats the game where I have to ride on the animal and hit crates along the way.
This game is also where I shall stop. This game seemed like it'd be a fun platformer, but in the end it was a precursor to the DS party game bonanzas. My favorite games were probably the Crate Smash/Step style ones though, they were pretty challenging and I may show videos of how they work later on. It also helps that they were close to real platforming. Till then, on to the next. Here's a hint! The numbers suggest that this next one is one of the older GBA gaems out there. It apparently came out the same year as the GBA.

(Special thanks goes to Freez airForALimitedTime for the CRASH course on uploading images onto the server. I know she really inSPYROd me to improve my layouts and......oh...the pun police says that I'll get arrested if I keep this up.
