A Treasure Hunter, not A Thief

After defeating Ymir, the Imperials continue on until they reach the frozen Esper, which has an avian appearance. And it begins GLOWING.

We enter a faux-battle sequence, where Biggs and Wedge are unnerved, whilst our mysterious girl approaches the Esper, who seems to have a connection to her... The Esper glows again, and Biggs and Wedge are disposed of. The Esper begins reacting with the girl, creating sparks, and we Fade to Black...

We resume with our turquoise-haired girl in a bed, where she is approached by an old man. It seems that he had removed the Slave Crown, thus making our heroine perplexed. The old man explains the Slave Crown to her, and ...

A mysterious young woman, born with the gift of magic, and enslaved by the Gestahlian Empire...

I name her Terra, the default.

Terra is an interesting character with regards to game play. Her unique ability, for now, is being able to use magic, as I said earlier. She also has a secret ability, but we'll get to that when we get there.

Her equipment, however, isn't Squishy Wizard territory; in fact she's a full-on Magic Knight, with good daggers and swords. Not a character I'd skip on, of course.

Dogs begin baying just outside the old man's house, and with them the Narshe guards. They demand that Terra be turned over to them. However, said old man tells Terra to escape through the back door, and he delays the Narshe guards. However, Terra is spotted by the guards crossing a bridge, and thus a chase is on, so to speak.

Terra makes her way through the caves, different from the ones we went through earlier. The path once more is straight-forward, and right before a bridge there is a Save Point. The chests in this place offer some stuff, but will spit out better stuff if we get them later.

And alas, our heroine is cornered, but she then falls down a hole that mysteriously collapses just as they get close to her. The fall, however, shakes her mind, and we see a flashback...

A chap in funny clothes named Kefka seems to be the guy in charge of Terra's enslavement, and proceeds to sic her on some hapless Imperial troops. Yeah, the guy is batshit crazy, why do you ask?

We then see steampunk Magitek Hitler Emperor Gestahl make a speech to the soldiers about how magic is restored to the world, and how he'll use it to take over the world. And the soldiers are totally not doing Nazi salutes.

We then shift to a bandana-clad guy in blue, who gets asked about his looting and plundering by the old man...

'''A treasure hunter and trail-worn traveler, searching the world over for relics of the past...'''

This time, I'm gonna leave his naming (and of subsequent characters) to you folks. So, what's his name gonna be?
