On an episode of MURDER SHE WROTE, Jessica repeated a quote and attributed it to St. Thomas Aquinas; a character who was dressed as a Roman Catholic priest didn't recognize the quote as false--which any real priest would have. There are other examples--someone faking a nationality not knowing something basic about his supposed country's history or popular culture, for example.
