The premise of Brothers And Sisters. Rumor has it that the spare illegitimate daughter is eventually revealed to have another father altogether.

I think Men In Trees has an example, but I can't remember it.

The novel and miniseries Centennial. How is that show, anyway? I love the book; one of those examples of "my teacher made me read it, now I read it voluntarily" things.

Real Life example: Vito Fossella, a Congressman from New York City, was arrested for drunk driving this year in Alexandria, Virginia. When a member of his Virginian Secret Other Family came to pick him up, guess who didn't get to run for re-election...

The Northern Exposure bit contains a possible alternate title. Chris and his (unknown to both) half-brother have been acting especially weird. They wake up and discover they were having the same dream about daddy driving off, only the day is different. One quick swap of photos later, they discover that daddy was a (in stereo) "traveling man".
