->'''Voiced by''': Creator/YuyaHirose

The titular "Chained Soldier". A housework-adept 3rd-year high-school student on the cusp of graduating who accidentally ends up in Mato. After he was saved by Kyouka Uzen, he becomes her combat slave and the caretaker of the Seventh Division, hoping to fulfill his dream of being a hero instead of living the average life he thought he was going to be forced to.
----
* AccidentalPervert: In general, if he can find himself in a compromising position with one of the demon hunters, without intending to do so, it will happen at least once. One early example was not being warned that Himari and Nei were bathing while he was doing the housecleaning, with the bath being an ''outdoor bath'', he winds up walking in on them. Shushu uses this to blackmail him, though that ceases to matter once she falls for him. He tends to end up walking in on or otherwise in a compromising situation with every chief he meets, though in a rarity for this trope he never gets more than yelled at over it, if even that.
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: One of the few rewards he gets from his masters that is ''not'' erotic in nature is being pet on the head. This and wholesome hugs are the only rewards Nei gives him.
* AnimalMotifs: Dogs. His Slave Forms all have dog-like, reptilian faces, with a spiked collar with connected to a chain which his master uses. His job as a caretaker and Kyouka's mount also contributes to it, as he is not paid for his labor, but given "rewards". Ren Yamashiro outright states that he reminds her of dogs.
* AsleepForDays: The battle with Kuusetsu, wherein Yuuki uses his most powerful techniques and forms to the utmost he can and suffers substantial injuries, leads to him collapsing unconscious and not waking for two straight days. Notably it is only when he awakes that the "reward" condition for Kyouka's powers activates, showing how big a delay there can be if he is in a condition where he can't receive the reward.
* BattleHarem: Being the only man in an all-woman military organization where many of them have an interest in him naturally results in this.
* BathtubBonding: Chapter 20 ends with him exhausted after a major battle with the Shuuki, and all he wants is to take a nice, long bath and relax. Since Himari and Kyouka were "riding" him, their part of the deal forces them to go and join him! At this point, going purely by facial expression, he's not sure if he should be excited, terrified, or both! Chapter 21 picks up where Chapter 20 left off and then plays it completely straight. All he really wanted was a bit of pampering because he's way too worn out to enjoy anything else. Kyouka and Himari both greatly appreciate it, and are openly relieved.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor:
** Wishes to have a little more excitement in life, not pleased with his prospects of being a HouseHusband or going into the corporate rat race. Gets sucked into Mato, surrounded by monsters, and wounds up becoming enslaved in exchange for his rescue.
** This trope seems to apply to the rewards system of his slave contract with Kyouka. Yuuki doesn't seem to go out of his way to wish for particularly lewd rewards, and indeed his desires are quite often innocent and unrelated to women whatsoever. However, he is also a teenage boy, with all the physical desires that accompany said state. The rewards system seems to draw on his current mental desires ''and'' his natural biological drive when it activates. He just wants to take a bath to relax? Kyouka and Himari have to accompany him to the bath and clean him. He just wants to get some rest? Kyouka has to sleep with him. Hungry and kinda feels like something sweet? Himari [[spoiler:and Fubuki]] end up feeding him honey in a very erotic fashion. He looks as embarrassed as the females in many of these circumstances, showing that while he may enjoy it, he's not thrilled if they're forced into it.
** Early on he briefly ponders having a harem of women, but while he still enjoys it he subsequently finds himself overwhelmed whenever the "rewards" involve multiple women, to the point that he freezes up and often has to be told/helped by them to do various things to finish up the conditions for the reward.
* BedmateReveal: He wakes up many times to see a women either lying next to him or, in Tenka's case, ''on'' him, with some of these being part of blatant seduction attempts.
* TheBerserker: His slave form while being ridden by Ren Yamashiro, Killer Fang, counts as this. Difficult to control, Killer Fang is just as likely to attack allies, even attacking Ren who had to beat him into submission.
* BlankWhiteEyes: He often gets these during rewards or other events that involve the woman being very forward with him, as a visual shorthand for how overwhelming/arousing he finds them.
* BodyguardingABadass: Although considerably powerful while transformed, it is clear from the first chapter that Kyouka, his master, is more than capable of protecting herself.
* BreathWeapon: His War Cloud form, usable only when Kyouka and Himari act as his masters together, gives him access to a devastatingly powerful energy beam inspired by a similar move he saw Aoba use. He has a less powerful but also less taxing flamethrower ability when ridden by Mira.
* BridalCarry: One of his rewards manifested as him carrying Kyouka in his arms and kissing her like that.
* ChickMagnet: By virtue of his personality. Once word gets out how good a "slave" he is, other women want in on the act, even the Captain of the Sixth Division openly asks for him, by name, to his shock. The captain of the fifth unit who prefers women also decides to make an exception for him and include Yuuki in her planned harem.
* ChivalrousPervert: He genuinely enjoys ''all'' the erotic "rewards" he gets from Kyouka and her AmazonBrigade. He sees no point in trying to deny it. Still, he has shown on many occasions that ''their'' well-being is his primary concern, not his gratification.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Yuuki specializes almost exclusively in hand-to-hand combat and possesses only a few ranged attacks under very specific circumstances.
* CoolBike: In Chapter 83, when Yuuki slave lends with Mira, he changes into a ''motorcycle''.
* CursedWithAwesome: Being Kyouka's slave is the only way he can make a proper contribution in direct combat within Shuuki, and he's rewarded for his efforts with a very attractive BattleHarem that not only treasures him, and vice versa, but does all sorts of erotic stuff to him.
* DevotedToYou: While he fights proudly shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of his allies, Yuuki's loyalties lay first and foremost with Kyouka. Even going so far as to declare that he only wants to get stronger with her, and no one else.
* DreamLand: Yuuki has a secondary world inside his mind, looking like a copy of the Seventh Division building. After [[spoiler:Kuusetsu]]'s death, her soul moved into this place, and she's now a permanent tenant.
* EndearinglyDorky: In universe, which gets lampshaded frequently. He's strangely appealing because he's goofy, odd, and socially clumsy but also reliable, noble and sincere.
* {{Expy}}:
** Yuuki's Slave Form under Ren Yamashiro flat out looks like a mix between [[Manga/{{Berserk}} Guts' Berserker Armor]] and [[Film/GodzillaVsSpaceGodzilla [=SpaceGodzilla=]]]. The latter especially, he even has the shoulder crystals!
** Yuuki's Slave form under Konomi resembles the Cloths used by the Saints from ''Manga/SaintSeiya''.
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: His Killer Fang slave form has incredible regenerative abilities, which is good because Yuuki is reduced to a near mindless berserker while in that form, making him fight far more recklessly and thus suffer worse injuries than usual. Ren also sees this as a benefit due to her not having to worry as much about doing him permanent damage if she has to beat him into submission after battle.
* GotVolunteered: In exchange for being rescued from a "Mato Disaster", he gets enslaved by Kyouka and dragged into being the caretaker for Seventh Division. Downplayed in that after the initial fight she did give him the option of leaving.
* ForcefulKiss: Is often on the receiving end, from friend and foe alike.
* HappinessInSlavery: In ''all four flavors.'' Since men are second-class citizens already, being Kyouka's slave is an improvement in many ways. He's the beloved servant of her entire AmazonBrigade. If not for being enslaved by Kyouka, he'd be ''dead'', hence the lesser evil. Lastly, he's literally a cringing boot-licker, literally licking Kyouka's boots on one occasion.
* HaremSeeker: Deconstructed and reconstructed. He dreamed of having a harem and being popular with women, until he wound up enslaved by Kyouka, and forced to tend to the household chores for her entire AmazonBrigade. Then he earns said brigade's favor and not only treasures them, but is treasured ''by them''. It then gets deconstructed again as he '''knows''' many of the girls interested in him are ''unhinged'' in some way, and include everyone from [[StalkerWithACrush Tenka]] to even [[VillainTakesAnInterest Shikoku]].
* HealingFactor: Starting in chapter 126 his healing speed even in his human form increases substantially thanks to [[spoiler:having the essences of three dead gods of thunder within him.]]
* TheHeart: He is this to the Mato Defense Corps as a whole, since he's shown to give support to every captain in order to overcome personal issues and bond with them to help them get stronger.
* HeroicBuild: After months of cleaning the 7th Unit's quarters and fighting alongside them on the battlefield, as well as sparring with Kyouka, Yuuki gains toned muscle as well as visible abs.
* HeroicWannabe: He is ''overjoyed'' to serve under Kyouka in battle, both figuratively and literally, not just because she rewards him, erotically, but because he wants to be a hero who contributes to the world in ways men normally can't.
* HeroesFightBarehanded: Yuuki technically wields no weapons when fighting even in his transformed state, instead relying on good old-fashioned fisticuffs, claws and bites to get the job done.
* HiddenBadass: Even without Mato powers, he's no pushover. As a child, a couple of bullies came at him. While his sister took the one that was twice her size, the other one was taken down instantly by him and held in place so he wouldn't interfere.
* HiddenDepths: He has a fairly deep appreciation for comedy, keeping up with something called the Comedy Grand Prix.
* HouseHusband: Invoked. His elder sister strong-armed him into mastering household chores, tailoring, cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: In a world where men are expected to live mundane, unremarkable lives, Yuuki longed to be needed, to be able to do something of "importance." His opportunity came when Kyouka saved him in Mato and took him in as the Seventh Division's caretaker, giving him an ability to fight on the front lines like no man before him could, to save people, to be a hero. His motives grow and mature over the course of the series, but this was his driving force in the initial months of his time as Kyouka's slave.
* IKissYourHand: Yuuki transforms by kissing Kyouka's hand.
* InvisibleParents: He has parents, mentioning early in the series he will have to let them know that he is going to live and work in Mato. However, they have not been mentioned since, let alone seen, even surrounding the fallout of Yuuki finding out his sister Aoba is alive.
* ItsPersonal: In addition to being a hero, Yuuki saw fighting in Mato as a way to get revenge for the assumed death of his sister who vanished in Mato five years before. This wasn't as personal as it might have been as he had nothing specific to direct his anger toward because he didn't know exactly what had happened to her. This all changed when Aoba turned out to be alive, albeit now a half-Shuuki. Henceforth, in addition to helping his allies, Yuuki's personal goal becomes to cure his sister of her transformation so she can return to the human world, and his serving Kyouka becomes in part a means to that end as her becoming Supreme Commander would give her the authority needed to uncover the secrets the Onmyou Agency is keeping and the resources that could lead to a cure.
* KissingUnderTheInfluence: Quite a bit more than "kissing" actually. When Koko shows him one of the Mato mushrooms the Former Humans normally eat, he reacts as if he's been exposed to LSD, and does erotic things to Koko and Naon in his fugue. Fortunately, none of the girls present go UnprovokedPervertPayback for it, indeed they were into it as they were fully capable of stopping him.
* ALadyOnEachArm: In many cases where Yuuki's been rewarded by at least two other women (for instance Kyouka and Himari, Himari and Fubuki, and Kyouka and Tenka), he ends up like this.
* LeonineContract: Surrounded by inhuman monsters in Chapter 1, Yuuki finds himself presented with a "choice". Become Kyouka's slave, or face certain death. Naturally, he chooses the former.
* [[BigBrotherInstinct Little Brother Instinct]]: When his sister Aoba got hurt in battle he nearly flew into a violent rage.
* MadeASlave: Willingly allows himself to be enslaved by Kyouka in Chapter 1, as it was the only way to save his life.
* MagicallyBindingContract: His slave contract with Kyouka counts as this. Yuuki is bound to her until death.
* MrFanservice: The toned muscles and abs he gains from housework and combat over time make him notably more attractive to the girls, with Tenka and even Kyouka praising them during rewards and feeling him up. Notably he usually ends up just as or even more unclothed than they are.
* MultiformBalance: His abilities and appearance depend greatly on who is his master. Each form has its own name as well.
** Under Kyouka, he's a LightningBruiser that simultaneously moves fast and hits hard. Chapter 68 reveals that this base form is becoming stronger the more people Yuuki is lent to. With Kyouka he also has a powered up mode called "Skyward" that has a short duration, and a finishing attack where he merges with her sword called Slave-Edge Sword that becomes more powerful the longer it is charged up.
** Whirlwind (Himari): He's a FragileSpeedster who moves even faster, at the cost of attack strength and defense, but has a powerful finishing move that can OneHitKill any of the Mato mooks. This mode has its own version of "Skyward" as well, and it was in fact the first form to awaken that mode.
** He can (with the right stimulation such as licking Kyouka's boot) force himself into a PartialTransformation without Kyouka present that is good for only a single attack, capable of taking down a Mato monster the size of a skyscraper in a single hit, but he's otherwise still as fragile as a normal human, making him a GlassCannon.
** War Cloud (Kyouka and Himari simultaneously): He gains a WaveMotionGun BreathWeapon, and is more powerful overall. However, this double-up exerts a tremendous toll on his body and leaves him exhausted for some time after it is used.
** Boulder Melter (Shushu): He becomes a MightyGlacier, very strong and very durable, but slow. Unfortunately, he does not have Shushu's SizeShifter powers, so if she tries to ride him and then turns giant, he gets crushed beneath her weight.
** Sparkling Stars (Nei): He gains SuperSenses, at the cost of speed and strength.
** Phoenix (Yakumo): He gains the ability to fly with four giant wings with extraordinary speed and wind abilities to deal some DeathFromAbove attacks, but his stamina and endurance aren't that great.
** Killer Fang (Ren): He becomes a black werewolf creature with two large shoulder crystals. Yuuki can create glyphs of his jaws in front of enemies that enable him to attack at a distance in a synchronized manner. He can also regenerate nearly instantly until he is worn out. Unfortunately, he also becomes TheBerserker in this state, liable to shake off the control of the chains and attack allies (including his master) as soon as the enemies are beaten. He also has no awareness of himself for the duration of any given battle in this form.
** Manspring (Fubuki): His body gains [[RubberMan rubber-like properties]] and he becomes able to [[ExtendableArms stretch parts of his body]].
** Roar (Mira): He transforms into a motorcycle. Aside from the flamethrower in his mouth, when Mira revs his "engine," he creates sound blasts painful to Shuuki, forcing them out from the ground where they're hiding.
** Champion's Garments Hagoromo (Konomi): He transforms into a suit of armor that covers her body. The armor combines Konomi and Yuuki's powers, amplifying the former's fighting capabilities. Also, Yuuki is still able to attack independently. The downside is that the Slave form has a short operating time.
** Hidden Moon (Bell): He takes a chameleon-like form that, despite its elaborate appearance, grants him and his rider {{Invisibility}}, complimenting Bell's ability, though it takes a lot of energy to maintain and while it hides him visually his presence can still be felt.
** Komainu (Varvara): He becomes a WalkingArmory who's powered by his loyalty to Kyouka.
* NiceGuy: A very pleasant young man eager to work hard, help out and get along with those around him. This endears him to a lot of the women who get to know him, and while it is rarely the ''only'' reason they come to desire him, it does help. When it comes to the "rewards" some of the women consider him to be quite a gentleman given he could easily be more selfish in seeking gratification on his end, but tends to let them set the pace instead. While he does start with a somewhat selfish desire to be a hero and get notoriety for it, he never considers doing so at the cost of any of his allies and soon comes to (usually) value their hopes and dreams as much as his own.
* NowThatsUsingYourTeeth: Halts One-Horn's charge by biting said horn.
* TheOneGuy: In a series populated almost entirely by women, he stands out as the most prominent male character.
* OneHitKill: Yuuki is more than capable of killing the rank-and-file Shuuki with a single blow.
* PersonalityPowers: His slave forms often reflect the personality and abilities of the person who is currently in the role of his master. Further, it is repeatedly speculated that the reason he is so compatible with Kyouka's ability and so capable in his slave forms is because he has a very servile personality, is suited to being a slave, is a slave through and through, etc.
* PowerGivesYouWings: With Yakumo, his "slave" form has wings, and he can fly.
* PropertyOfLove: Is quite literally the property of the object of his (yet to be officially declared) romantic interest, Kyouka.
* QuestionableConsent: By virtue of being a slave and also helpless in his human form, Yuuki is in no position to refuse any sexual advances made on him, by Kyouka at least (in theory no one has to right to him except her, as he is her slave). Even if he were to say no, he could be simply overpowered. That said, his thoughts indicate he is normally quite willing.
* RoarBeforeBeating: Has developed a habit of roaring at the onset of battle.
* SlaveCollar: One of the distinguishing features of his various transformations, as well as the chain that is attached to it. The form he takes is directly influenced by whoever is holding the chain to said collar.
* SleightOfTongue: Is fed by Kyouka a piece of candy via a kiss rather erotically as one of his rewards on one occasion.
* StarringSmurfette: He is pretty much the only human male in the world that can actually fight on the front lines and thus the only male member of the Mato Defense Corps, even if in an unofficial capacity.
* SupportingProtagonist: He's the POV character and the one the story focuses on first but his role is to support the girls of the Mato Defense Corps in their fight.
* SupremeChef: His cooking is so good, even [[DoesNotLikeMen Himari]] shamelessly demands seconds.
* UndyingLoyalty: His unwavering devotion to Kyouka makes it clear that his loyalty lay first and foremost with her.
* UnequalPairing: Yuuki in regards to any of the cast who have an interest in him.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: After Kyouka uses a wrestling hold to render him unconscious so she can comply with his "reward" of sleeping beside him in her underwear, he wakes up in the middle of the night and sees her sleeping completely defenseless. Rather than exploit her vulnerable state, he tucks her in and goes right back to sleep.

Fearless Chief of the Mato Defense Corps Seventh Division, and the first girl to claim Yuuki as her slave.
\
Kyouka's Peach Blessing is ("Infinite Chain": Slave). This ability draw out the strength from living beings, making them stronger. A metal collar and chain manifests around their neck, which anyone can grab onto.
----
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: As the series goes on, it becomes increasingly less and less clear if the kisses and other things she does with Yuuki as "rewards" are because her power demands she do them, or because she wants to
* BridalCarry: One of the rewards she had to give Yuuki manifested as him carrying Kyouka in his arms and kissing him like that.
* CastFromStamina: "Lending" Yuuki in his slave form to others causes significant strain on Kyouka. The more powerful the person she lends Yuuki to, the more exhausting it is for her. Her stamina for this does increase over time, but remains an issue.
* CasualKink: She often "rewards" Yuuki with some BDSM, namely stepping and sitting on him.
* CharacterCatchphrase: She often says "You damned pervert!" to Yuuki whenever she becomes conscious of what a lewd reward is going to be, theorizing that they stem only from his inner desires. Over time it becomes less a complaint and more a teasing remark.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Her feats of strength and skill can only be described as superhuman by any normal human standard. Further, she is the only one of her master's students who was able to master her martial arts in such a way that she can kill Shuuki without using an ability.
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** She doesn't mind sharing with the rest of the squad, but seeing Tenka go full tilt carnivore made her take back her oath to not interfere in private matters. [[LoveConfession Yuuki is her slave, end of story.]]
** During the Training Arc with the other Chiefs, she's displayed both irritation and possessiveness whenever the other Chiefs mention wanting to use her Slave Lending ability on Yuuki.
** On the other hand, she doesn't mind as much if she is part of a group reward.
* CloseRangeCombatant: The natural end result of a warrior whose chosen weapon is a sword, Kyouka fights up close and personal.
* CommissarCap: She wears one as part of her uniform, and was the only member of the corps to wear one until Chief Mira Kamiunten of the second unit was introduced in Chapter 46.
* CovertPervert: Chapter 24.5 reveals that she likes giving Yuuki erotic rewards as much he likes getting them, she's just too proud and embarrassed to admit it.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: While Yuuki may be the protagonist, Kyouka is just as important to the story, if not more so, and in many ways, she's the actual main character. She's the first character shown in the series, the first character with a spoken line of dialogue, her decision to save Yuuki kickstarts the plot, and her ambitions, desires, and actions drive the story throughout the series.
* DoomedHometown: Her home town was wiped out in a Mato Disaster, and all that remains is a massive graveyard, which she shows to Yuuki on her day off.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Her pupils are normally depicted as vertical, almost cat-like. They help add to her imposing appearance, but as yet have never been explained or commented on in-universe. Notably as a child she is not shown to have them, making it possible that her eyes changed as a result of eating a Mato Peach.
* FightsLikeANormal: Her power requires the use of a second person and doesn't directly benefit her. As a result, Kyouka instead uses her sword skills and martial arts to do it.
* FreudianThreat: To ease Himari, and the others of Seventh Division, when she brings in Yuuki to be their [[HappinessInSlavery "caretaker"]], she promises that if he ''ever'' steps out of line, sexually, she'll "twist it off." Himari takes this promise to heart, though this ceases to be an issue quite quickly.
* HeldGaze: Has developed a habit of staring into Yuuki's eyes before kissing him.
* HighPressureEmotion: Chapter 24.5 ends with her blushing a nice shade of tomato and steam coming off the top of her head. Not from getting wiped down with a towel by Yuuki, but by the fact she gave him a gentle peck on the lips.
** This happens again in chapter 127 after she kissed Yuuki on the lips who then points out that he didn't transform that day. Very flustered, she claims it was nothing but a ReflexiveResponse because since they were training in Shangri la previously, she got used to rewarding him so often it became second nature.
* InsecureLoveInterest: Becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of others taking an interest in Yuuki and lending him to them. She is positively elated when Yuuki tells her that he wants to get stronger with her alone and only use lending when necessary.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Downplayed. She's domineering, bossy, expects her orders to be followed to the letter, and constantly snarks at Yuuki for being a pervert. However, she's genuinely one of the kindest, emotionally stable, and loyal characters in the series.
* JoinOrDie: Despite the fact that protecting civilians is her job, she demands Yuuki sign on as her slave, and then become the caretaker of seventh division, or she'd leave him to the monsters of Mato. In her defense, she ''needed'' to make him her slave so she could use her super-power to rescue him from TheHorde, her own thoughts noting that there was no way she could save him otherwise.
* LecherousLicking: On the giving and receiving end. Simply having Yuuki agree to be her slave required him to lick her fingers, and she's frequently seen "rewarding" him by licking as well.
* LuminescentBlush: Suffers a rather sweet one in [[spoiler:Chapter 69 after hearing Yuuki vehemently proclaim that he doesn't wish to be lent to other chiefs unless needed, even if doing so will make him stronger, and that he wishes to only grow stronger with her.]]
* AMotherToHerMen: She clearly has this dynamic with the other women of seventh division.
* MsFanservice: Out of necessity, she often has to reward Yuuki with lewd and erotic acts which usually show off her curvaceous body in various ways.
* NecessaryDrawback: Using her ability and then handing Yuuki's chain to other members of the Mato Defense Corps saps her strength and stamina quickly, though through training her resilience against this has increased. Lending can also happen without her permission, as all it takes is someone else grabbing the chain away from her.
* PowerAtAPrice: Her ability works this way in both directions. Yuuki gains a massive power-up in both skill and ability as a result of being slapped in her ability's SlaveCollar. As for her, she gains his servitude and combat prowess in return for "rewarding his efforts" with all sorts of erotic acts, that she states she's compelled to do against her wishes. Or is she?
* RevengeBeforeReason: Subverted. She came ''very close'' to abandoning her subordinates in pursuit of the beast that wrecked her home-town, leaving her the SoleSurvivor. Then she sees Yuuki tending their wounds. Seeing them in a life-threatening state had her stand down and seek out medical assistance.
* SheCleansUpNicely: She's already smoking hot in uniform, but in civilian garb? She is cuteness personified.
* SignatureHeadgear: The two horn-like decorations she's almost always seen wearing. Their purpose and/or emotional significance, if any, has yet to be revealed.
* SleightOfTongue: Feeds Yuuki a piece of candy in an erotic fashion with a kiss as one of his rewards on one occasion.
* SoleSurvivor: Her entire home town was wiped out by a horde of Shuuki when she was a child.
* SweetTooth: Yuuki manages to talk her into visiting a newly opened confectionery after she visits her former town's graveyard, to try and lighten her mood. One bite of the recommended parfait has her turn into putty in his hands. In addition, she carries little jaw-breaker candies around that she's routinely snacking on.
* SwordBeam: By combining with Kyouka's sword, Yuuki is shot at fast speeds at an enemy. It's a hidden technique that mixes Yuki's Slave form and Kyouka's combat mastery and can be used in their Skyward form. [[spoiler:In Chapter 80, they release this on Kuusetsu and successfully yank Mira, Koko, and Naon out from inside her]].
* UnequalPairing: Given that he is quite literally her slave and her physical superiority, the power gap between Kyouka and Yuuki is considerable.
* UnstoppableRage: Encountering the monster that wiped out her hometown throws Kyouka in such a fit of rage that she doesn't notice that her incapacitated teammates are about to be overwhelmed. Had Yuuki not disengaged from the battle to rescue them, there's no telling what would have happened.
* VirtuousCharacterCopy: She's in many ways a heroic version of Esdeath, the villain of the author's previous manga ''Manga/AkameGaKill''. They both look, dress, and act similarly, but Kyouka is fighting to protect humanity and her sexually dominant relationship with the protagonist is reciprocal.
* WhatIsThisFeeling: She absolutely hates it when the other chiefs monopolize Yuuki for themselves, but she's not sure ''why'' she feels this way.
* WhenSheSmiles: Yuuki is absolutely fascinated by her smile, and we don't blame him.
* {{Workaholic}}: Her idea of a day off, ''no more than once every three weeks'', is spending all day working out and other training, aside from the one time she took Yuuki to pay respects at the gravesite that is her DoomedHomeTown. She does not like to waste time and mentions she outright starts feeling sick if she doesn't keep herself busy.

[[caption-width-right:250:''"How indecent!"'']]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/YumeMiyamoto

A powerful and versatile fighter of the Seventh Division, also the most hostile to Yuuki initially.
\
Himari's Peach Blessing is ("Will of the Azure Cloud": Learning). This power allows her to learn the abilities of other Mato Peach Eaters, then sets up the information on her smartphone for later use in battle.
----
* AccidentalPervert: In chapter 9, she ignores the sign Yuuki places at the door of the changing room and strips while getting ready to enter the bath, only to see Yuuki coming out, wearing nothing but a ModestyTowel.
* BigLittleSister: She's actually a bit taller than her older sister Yachiho.
* BlessedWithSuck: Her ability is actually PowerCopying, which sounds awesome on paper, but her affinity with the power she copies is an issue. Not only does a power that she has a poor affinity with become totally useless, but the ability she has the highest affinity with is Kyouka's, which has its own downsides. Thankfully, she has a decent affinity with Saki Tokoyama from Fifth Division, which allows her to turn her various body parts into upgraded versions of real-life weapons. It should be noted, however, that having the power to copy and use even a fraction of various chiefs' ability is still overwhelming. This is because each chief is equivalent to a one-woman army. This is best shown in chapter 64 where her 1 second version of Yachiho Azuma's Golden Hour 5-seconds Time Rewind gave her enough time to land a blow on Fubuki.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "How indecent!"
* CommonalityConnection: Yuuki is reluctant to help Himari deal with her sister, until he learns that she's as much of a HeroicWannabe as he is, and that her sister is openly sabotaging her. She rewards his efforts with genuine gratitude as she's doing erotic stuff to him and the two proceed to get along well from then on.
* CovertPervert: She eventually starts looking forward to giving Yuuki his lewd and erotic rewards, wondering just what she will do with him next, but is too embarrassed to admit it even to herself.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Starts the story very aloof, and cold to Yuuki. Becomes much sweeter once he helps her win against her domineering elder sister.
* DoesNotLikeMen: She's not fond of having Yuuki living at the base purely because he's male. This changes once he agrees to help her win against her elder sister and begins treating him better.
* TheDogBitesBack: In chapter 62, Himari knocks Homare out using nothing but her fists, standing up to her as payback for years of bullying. Bonus points for doing so without her ability.
* EntertaininglyWrong: She is warned that she has to put her body on the line to reward Yuuki. She assumes this meant doing his chores and is shocked to learn that it actually meant doing erotic acts for him.
* HeroWorshipper: Can't stop singing Kyouka's praises, both for being a great role model and for accepting her.
* IJustWantToBeFree: She's in seventh division precisely to get away from her family, among whom is a elder sister who tries to put down or control her at every opportunity in the misguided belief she needs it. It's eventually revealed that the rest of her family is arguably worse.
* InUniverseCatharsis: By chapter 62, she eventually manages to settle the score with Homare for her years of bullying.
* JerkassRealization: She eventually realizes that she was unfairly mean to Yuuki and apologises to him for her behaviour.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While she doesn't suffer fools gladly, Himari is a selfless, compassionate and caring person.
* NecessaryDrawback: Her PowerCopying has several drawbacks, with the main drawback being that she needs to have a high compatibility with the copied power or it'd be useless. She cannot simply copy every powerful ability she sees and expect to be able to actually use it. Even ones she has decent compatibility with may be weaker when she uses them compared to the original.
* OhCrap: In chapter 66, Himari does one of these when her mother accidentally does Slave Lending with her, and realizes that she'll have to reward Yuuki by the end of it. ''The both of them.''
* PowerCopying: Her ability, Learning ( "Blue Cloud Will" ), is to copy powers. She can't do this without limit though. She needs to have a high compatibility with the power she copies for it to be useful. If she does have a high compatibility, if there are any downsides, she gets those too.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: Out of necessity, she often has to reward Yuuki with lewd and erotic acts and is often embarrassed about it.
* SleightOfTongue: Feeds Yuuki honey with an erotic kiss as one of his rewards in Chapter 67.
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: The power she uses most is converting her limbs into various weapons. She can also make them sprout from her ''head.''
* TookALevelInKindness: After Yuuki comes to her aid in finally breaking free of her domineering sister's influence, she becomes ''much'' nicer to him, even giving him erotic "rewards". She notes her words are genuine gratitude, not part of the reward.
* ThroughHerStomach: Even before she warmed up to Yuuki, she really liked his cooking and praised him for it.
* TrademarkFavouriteFood: Ramen. She'll usually order Yuuki to make her different kinds of ramen after she's done training.
* UndyingLoyalty: Towards Kyouka, who believed in her and still made her the 7th Unit's Vice Chief even when she was still seen as the failure of the Azuma Family. The sentiment was enough to even bring Himari to [[TearsOfJoy tears]].
* TheUnfavorite: Her whole family considers her the BlackSheep in various ways. Her older sister Yachiho is a provocative bully who picks on her a lot, and ''she's actually the nicest'' since she's a LovingBully. The rest just view her as a weakling and will not hesitate to get rid of her if she brings shame on them for ''perceived'' weakness. This ends once Himari proves her strength and her mother takes over as head of the family.
* UnprovokedPervertPayback: She responds to Yuuki seeing her strip as he comes out of the bath, because she ignored the sign he posted (thinking one of the girls was using the bath), by transforming her arm into a chainsaw and chasing him around the house, threatening him with it. This behavior stops once they befriend each other.

[[caption-width-right:250:''"I'm not letting you go, Yuukey..."'']]
->'''Voiced by''': Mari Hino

The resident powerhouse of the Seventh Division.
\
Shushu's Peach Blessing is ("Imperial Liberation": Paradigm Shift). With this ability, Shushu can alter her size at will; she can grow from the size of a building to as small as a mouse.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Routinely refers to Yuuki as "Yuukey," despite it being almost the same as his real name.
* AlliterativeName: '''S'''hushu '''S'''uruga.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: While she isn't the youngest of the Seventh Division (that honor goes to Nei), Shushu is the youngest of her family with two big sisters.
* BathtubBonding: She's fond of barging in on Yuuki as he's bathing.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: Played with as Shushu is fairly buxom to begin with, but having heard that men prefer larger breasts she at one point tries to seduce Yuuki by enlarging her whole body and then embracing him, as in a literall sense her breasts are bigger along with everything else about her in that state. Yuuki confirms he does indeed like bigger breasts, but then tells her that Shushu is cuter when her body is at its normal size. At this point, she gets so excited and flustered that a smash cut has her splashing cold water on her head in the bath, remarking on how it's pointless if her seduction attempts excite her more than Yuuki.
* CannotSpitItOut: Compared to Himari and Kyouka, she's the one who from early on is the most aware of her feelings for him, but her feelings of inadequacy, and her insistence on using various schemes to get Yuuki to fall for her, keeps her from letting Yuuki know about her love in any serious way.
* CassandraTruth: When she barges in as Yuuki is bathing, and insists on washing his back, she [[NoPeekingRequest tells him not to turn around because she's also naked]]. After trying to restrain himself for a while, she then decides to also wash his front, which she had seen before. At that point, he angrily turns around to see that she was telling the truth about being naked.
* CuteLittleFangs: She shows them whenever she gets into her teasing mode.
* DisappearedDad: When talking to Yuuki about being the first man she's ever met, Shushu mentions she didn't have a father growing up.
* GamerChick: Her off time is spent playing video-games, and she trounces Yuuki when she challenges him to her favorite fighting game.
* GoodBadGirl: Having grown up without any male relatives whatsoever, and sent off to an entirely all-female school, she's intensely curious about boys, and exploits Yuuki to satisfy her curiosity, in its entirety, even stripping him naked at one point.
* GreenEyedMonster: Literally. She has green eyes, and envies Himari, Kyouka and Tenka for getting erotic with Yuuki. She also envies the figures of the latter two.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Golden-haired blond, and a good woman, once you get used to her quirks.
* HourOfPower: She can only maintain her giant form for a short time. She later figures out how to weaponize this, finding that if she turns giant with a low preset limit (like three minutes), she becomes even stronger than she would normally be.
* InsecureLoveInterest: For all her flirting, teasing, and SexualExtortion, this is the core of her character. She's constantly afraid that Yuuki will reject her, [[spoiler:so when she loses to Sahara, she runs off crying, thinking that she showed Yuuki "an uncool" side of her.]] Fortunately for her, Yuuki is a HaremSeeker that deeply treasures her.
* MarshmallowHell: Up to eleven. Yuuki winds up falling into her cleavage when she's in her giant form, and the result has his entire body caught between her breasts.
* MundaneUtility: Milk baths are good for your skin but expensive, Shushu gets them for cheap since she can shrink and bathe in a cup.
* NonUniformUniform: Besides her uniform lacking sleeves or shoulder pads, her gloves are black instead of white.
* PowerPerversionPotential: In chapter 24.9, she turns herself giant to woo Yuuki with her bigger breasts. When Yuuki said that while he does like them she's cuter in her normal size, she's the one flustered and runs off to take a cold shower. In a later chapter she reveals she has learned to enlarge only her breasts for a sneak attack from behind him.
* RunningGag: Her coming up with various plans to get closer to or seduce Yuuki, only for them to fail in one way or another. Sometimes she is the one who ends up feeling seduced by Yuuki's words and actions, at other times she doesn't even get to try because Yuuki ends up elsewhere being rewarded by another woman.
* SexualExtortion: Via blackmail. Early in the series she photographs Yuuki in compromising positions, and then threatens to reveal said photos to Kyouka if he doesn't do as she says. This goes away pretty quickly and switches to a RunningGag where she repeatedly fails to get Yuuki to act as she expects.
* SheCleansUpNicely: She's cute even in her uniform, so when she dresses up for a small date with Yuuki, she's downright gorgeous.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: She finds Yuuki getting an eyeful of her ''thrilling''.
* SizeShifter: She can voluntarily change sizes in a range from too small to easily see to rivaling a building.
* SpiritedCompetitor: She fights purely for the thrill of the challenge.
* SpottingTheThread: She breaks free of Shikoku's LotusEaterMachine by realizing the "Tenka" she was seeing was acting wildly out of character. Tenka would never agree to ThreeWaySex with an enemy.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: Her propensity to attack Mato monsters for fun jumps up to bite her in the back, and almost proves her undoing in chapter 4. Fortunately, Yuuki was able to use Kyouka's laundry [[ChivalrousPervert to invoke her ability and power himself up.]]
* UselessUsefulSpell: Shushu's riding ability turns Yuuki into a sluggish-but-strong StoneWall... but ''doesn't'' inherit Paradigm Shift. Everyone points out that, since Paradigm Shift is the only thing that makes Shushu's brute strength work, Yuuki's transformation with her is pretty much worthless. Considering she was hoping to get some mileage out of "rewarding" Yuuki through this, she's naturally disappointed. She puts a lot of effort into figuring out ways to make the transformation more useful, eventually figuring out that using the "branding" concept Yuuki uses in other transformations gives his punch in this form a range attack effect.

->'''Voiced by''': Hina Tachibana

An 11 year old girl, a fully certified member of the Seventh Division who possesses the power of clairvoyance.
\
Nei's Peach Blessing is ("Sure to Find Promise": Promise). It's a clairvoyant ability, allowing Nei to locate, detect, and see anything at locations around 5km or more.
----
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: At only 11, she's the youngest member not only of her division, but also the youngest member seen so far in the entire Mato Defense Corps.
* CheerfulChild: Sweet and upbeat.
* AChildShallLeadThem: She's 11 and she's in charge of the seventh division shelter.
* ChildSoldiers: Played with. Eleven and at the front lines, albeit she just uses clairvoyance to locate enemies, never actually fighting herself. It's justified in that in addition to being a non-combatant, she sought out the position after losing her parents. Sensory powers like her are also rare and valuable to the corps.
* ClingySleepers: She grabs Yuuki when sharing the same sleeping bag.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Pink hair and eyes.
* TheCutie: She's adorable.
* MeaningfulName: Nei's Peach Blessing, Promise, symbolizes her vow to reunite with her missing parents, hence the first part of her power's name: "Sure to Find Promise."
* MundaneUtility: In Chapter 24.5, she checks the communal bath with her clairvoyance, making sure it's vacant, before telling Yuuki to go clean it.
* NiceGirl: Unfailingly sweet and polite.
* PersonalityPowers: Nei's ability to locate and detect people was born out of her wish to find her parents, who went missing during a Mato disaster.
* PokeInTheThirdEye: On the wrong end. As she's scanning the area around Seventh Division's shelter, a couple of "humanoid shuuki" sense it, turn in the direction of her POV and boast that they'll be launching an attack upon her and her allies in Chapter 17.
* RoseHairedSweetie: Pink hair and a sweet, sensitive girl.
* SeeingThroughAnothersEyes: When she is using her powers to see at a distance, if someone touches her they will be able to see what she sees.
* SensorCharacter: She can detect packs of Mato monsters, even pinpointing a nest in chapter 5.
* {{Sleepwalking}}: In Chapter 51, as all the demon hunters of sixth division are in the same room, thanks to Shikoku's earlier "prank," she tussles out of her sleeping bag and into Yuuki's then wraps around him like a vice. Naturally, she's quite embarrassed the next morning.
* TokenMiniMoe: She's ''11''.
* TokenWholesome: {{Justified|Trope}}. Nei being a pre-teen puts her squarely outside of Yuuki's strike zone, so she's exempt from his latent lust that incites lewder rewards from the rest of the AmazonBrigade. Her repayments to Yuuki for controlling his slave form mostly consist of head-pats and sisterly hugs, with the furthest she's gone being an innocent kiss on the cheek.

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MaayaUchida
The Chief of the Mato Defense Corps Sixth Division. A rather calm woman with a lot of power up her sleeve.
\
Tenka's Peach Blessing is ("Heavenly Bird Life": Ame-no-Mitori); a powerful ability, allowing Tenka to create vortexes from the fabric of space itself, opening portals that can tear targets apart, suck them in, or be used by her for very rapid transport.
----
* TheAce: While most of the chiefs are this in the present, Tenka is one who was this her whole life. As she tells Kyouka, she got to where she is in life while being an honor student ever since she was a child. She's never had any real difficulties, to the point that boredom (or rather, sexual frustration) when she's by herself is her main complaint in her life.
* AllWomenAreLustful: She is immensely brazen, forward, and sexually aggressive. After falling for Yuuki (the first boy she ever felt strongly about), she remarks that her "private time" will no longer be boring, with all the implications one might imagine. After this she not only sneaks into Yuuki's room and watches him sleep, after she gains confirmation from Kyouka that she won't be interrupted in a private setting, she again goes into his room, uses a ForcefulKiss until he's left panting, then pushes him down on the bed and straddles him, clearly stating that while she intended to do things in order, now she wants straight up sex. Keep in mind ''all this'' was simply part of her letting him know she wanted to be his girlfriend. She accepts his request to get to know her better first, but since it wasn't an outright "no" she explains she's going to continue trying to seduce him while befriending him. She also likes "rewarding" Yuuki despite never having experienced the "lending", and does so at every opportunity, without hesitation always matching or exceeding whatever lewd reward the other woman/women are giving.
* BadassBoast: After almost one-shotting Rairen and his army via a massive UnrealisticBlackHole.
-->'''Tenka:''' Defenses are meaningless when I can just tear space itself apart.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: The anime shows her spacial warping powers vary in color depending on their function. When she is using them for transport, to teleport, etc. they are purple in color, whereas when she is ripping space apart to attack they are violet in color.
* FeatherMotif: Her portals and other uses of her powers are sometimes proceeded by falling white feathers, perhaps in allusion to how her powers and the name for them are noted to be god-like (and the name itself referencing birds).
* HiddenDepths: Her favourite music is jazz and she likes to relax while listening to it.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: She's envious of the relationship Yuuki and Kyouka have, seeing how Yuuki will ''happily'' let her treat him like a "pet" and openly support her in her hopes, dreams, and endeavors, without complaint. This is one reason she asks for Yuuki from Kyouka, and later asks Yuuki if he would date her. She has since focused heavily on deepening her relationship with Yuuki emotionally, and getting close to his sister, in many cases acting as if she and Yuuki are already married.
* ImagineSpot: She frequently fantasizes about Yuuki. When fighting Aoba, she even has a fantasy of dating, marrying and being impregnated by Yuuki and bearing his child, with Aoba being a happy in-law...
* {{Irony}}: She is the only division Commander who has yet to experience Lending, yet is also the most interested in rewarding Yuuki.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Downplayed. She shows an ''intense'' and consistent interest in Yuuki from the first moment she sees him, but appears to not be sure she is in love with him until she kisses him, expressing how it made her feel makes her sure now that she wants to be with him. She remarks simply looking at him makes her feel happy.
* TheNicknamer: She's initially fond of calling Yuuki "slave-kun" and giving others amusing little nicknames. After admitting she'd like to be his girlfriend, she starts calling him by name. She always refers to Aoba as "sister," but this turns out to not be a nickname as much as an expression of what she genuinely wants/expects Aoba to eventually be, i.e. her sister in-law.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She greets Yuuki the first time by backing him into a wall, and getting her face right up against his.
* ThePeepingTom: Admits to Yuuki that she enjoys watching him sleep, with the implication being that she does this often (the first time shown being at the end of chapter 21, not long after she became interested in him).
* PowerPerversionPotential: Happily uses her SpaceMaster powers to teleport into Yuuki's room when he's sleeping, either to simply watch, or if she catches him awake, be very, very sexually forward... She can also use it to instantly strip Yuuki by destroying his clothes.
* SecretKeeper: Out of her love for Yuuki and her sympathy for their situation, she agrees to keep secret the identity of the Former Humans, as well as their goals from the rest of the Mato Defense Corps. She's later shown to also be keeping secret the location of the relocated Hidden Village. She later admits to Aoba she has also come to care about her beyond her being Yuuki's sister and genuinely wants to help her.
* SpaceMaster: Her Mato ability is the manipulation of space itself. With but a touch, she can send you hundreds of meters into the air, or rip right past your defenses. She can also use it to teleport herself up to 666 times in a row before she runs out of stamina.
* TeleportSpam: Her favored fighting method is to use her portals to teleport herself repeatedly, dodging attacks and confusing her opponent until she can maneuver them into an optimal position to target them with a UnrealisticBlackHole. If the opponent tries to keep up the pressure on her to not give her a chance to attack back, tiring her out is a tall order, as she can use instant movement via her portals 666 times in a row.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: With her ability, she can create one, first shown in chapter 20, sucking up a bunch of Shuuki and their commander, Rairen. Having the black hole open directly on someone will tear a corresponding hole on their body, and simply being near a strong one can cut the target to pieces. She can vary the size and strength of these tears in space from large enough to take out an army to small enough to harmlessly target a small part of a single person (like Yuuki's shirt).
* WomenPreferStrongMen: Seeing Yuuki fight gets her heart racing, and is part of why she falls for him. She is also very in favor of how his muscles develop and his body tones over the course of the series.

Himari's older sister and a member of the Sixth Division. She has a habit of belittling her sister for misguided reasons.
\
Yachiho's Peach Blessing is ("Eastern Engraving": Golden Hour). It's an ability that grants her control over time, allowing her to stop or rewind through time via making various poses, though only for a matter of seconds.
----
* AssKickingPose: How she activates Golden Hour.
* AnArmAndALeg: Gets her arm blown off by Rairen in chapter 19, but fortunately was able to rewind time to allow her to dodge the blow.
* BreakTheHaughty: She is gratifyingly humiliated by the Himari+Yuuki combo during the Mato TournamentArc.
* CastFromStamina: Her TimeMaster powers are tied to her stamina. Every use drains her, meaning she cannot use it without limit. Sharp-eyed opponents can notice her fatigue which would mean she just used her powers in the absence of other explanations and immediately switch tactics.
* DivingSave: Rescues Himari in this manner in chapter 18.
* EntitledToHaveYou: She acts entitled to Himari, repeatedly trying to get her to return to the Azuma household in the belief that Himari's best life would be one where she follows her big sister. After being defeated by her it turns more into her ''pleading'' for Himari to agree to this arrangement.
* GirlishPigtails: The main difference between her and her younger sister is that she keeps her hair on pigtails.
* GradeSkipper: An extra chapter reveals she skipped through her high school and university years through a mato-affiliated university.
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: If she bullies Himari, that's fine. Anyone else messes with her? It's game on! As demonstrated when a "humanoid shuuki" interrupted the exhibition match and straight up tried to murder Himari.
* LovingBully: Deconstructed. She ''thinks'' she's doing Himari a favor by trying to control her life and constantly putting her down. In reality, she's completely alienating Himari, despite Himari actually respecting her work ethic and desire to improve herself.
* MageMarksman: In addition to her TimeMaster powers, she fights with a special Mato-power enhanced gun as she is lacking in other skills to actually kill Shuuki with.
* SmugSnake: She seriously overestimated her chances in the match with Himari, believing her victory was assured, repeatedly gloating her self-perceived superiority.
* StalkerShrine: When Yuuki, Himari, and Kyouka are invited to sixth division's shelter, he stumbles upon Yachiho's bedroom and spots pictures of Himari, of all ages, ''everywhere''. [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere He wisely gets the heck out of Dodge]] and advises against having Himari see it when Sahara suggests it would be a easy way to get Yachiho to admit she actually does care for her sister.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks quite similar to Himari, sharing the same hair and eye color.
* SuperpowerLottery: Yachiho hit the jackpot with her Golden Hour, which allows her to control time to a limited degree.
* TheyJustDontGetIt: Even after being defeated in an official match by Himari, she ''still'' tries to insist that Himari would be happier going back home to be under her "gentle training" and the family's harsh scrutiny. She is petrified with shock when Himari politely refuses.
* TimeMaster: Her main power allows her to rewind time 5 seconds, so if she's not rendered unconscious with an attack, she can undo it, at the cost of her stamina. She can also freeze time for 5 seconds, allowing her to attack an opponent with them being unable to dodge or block. Her penultimate form allows her to rewind time 10 seconds.
* ToughLove: She is genuinely fond of her younger sister, but she thinks the best way to show that affection is to put her down, drag her back to the Azuma estate and then build her back up. She's shocked when Himari beats her and then tells her she will never agree to this arrangement.

Sahara's Peach Blessing is ("Angry Sheep": Crazy Sheep). With this power, she can strengthen herself within a predetermined amount of time, and the shorter the time, the stronger she is.
----
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: She has orange hair and orange eyes.
* HourOfPower: Which she exploits. She chooses the duration of her SuperMode, from one to sixty minutes. The shorter in time, the stronger she is. Once the time is up, she cannot use the power again for three minutes.
* LeotardOfPower: Her uniform is modified to look like a leotard.
* PowerGlows: In her SuperMode, she glows with light.
* RingRingCrunch: An EyeCatch in the anime features her destroying an alarm clock in her sleep, while ''five'' other alarm clocks go off in the background.
* SleepyHead: She falls asleep at the drop of a hat, and is always sleepy. Tenka notes that her ability to fall asleep anywhere is itself a great skill since it lets her use the unconscious form of her powers more easily.
* UnconsciousObjector: Combined with TheBerserker. If she's rendered unconscious in her SuperMode, she attacks with wild abandon, not caring between friend and foe, and she's ''even stronger'' than when she's conscious.

* AnimalisticAbilities[=/=]AnimalThemedFightingStyle: Konomi's Peach Blessing, Beast Power, grants her the power and attributes of a tiger as she can rip apart her enemies with slashing attacks while also boosting her strength and speed. By combining that with Xing Yi Quan, an internal chinese martial art, she's created a rather deadly style of combat unique to her.
* TheApprentice: She was trained, personally, by the former first-section division chief, Riu Myouga.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: As a first-year high-schooler, she's the youngest of the section chiefs.
* BigSisterWorship: Konomi deeply respects Kyouka and her senior chiefs; she calls the former "Anedeshi", meaning "senior female pupil of the same master", likely referring to how Kyouka trained alongside her under Riu.
* BoringButPractical: She essentially just has a super-charged CharlesAtlasSuperpower with some aura additions, which isn't the flashiest when compared to summoning weapons, cloning, or time manipulation. It is also ''extremely'' straightforward and has little to no drawbacks or conditions -- no one is going dispute her being a chief when she can effortlessly punch out a building-sized Shuuki whenever she wants. During her fight with Yumeji, the latter even mentally commends it as being "simple, but powerful".
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: She has red hair and reddish eyes.
* FirstKiss: [[spoiler:Shares her first one with Yuuki during his reward after the battle against Yumeji.]]
* GenkiGirl: Very energetic and upbeat.
* LonelyAtTheTop: Because of Konomi's job as a chief of the Mato Defense Corps, she's on a different level compared to everyone else back at her high school. People are hesitant to approach her, let alone ask Konomi to go on a date with them. That said, [[DownplayedTrope Konomi does have one friend outside of work]], so it's not too bad.
* LettingHerHairDown: While off duty she keeps her hair loose, and ties it in a ponytail when she's about to fight.
* NiceGirl: Unlike the rest of the section chiefs and their quirks, Konomi is the kindest and most respectful, even to Yuuki, who's a man.
* PowerMisidentification: [[spoiler:Her Beast Power at first appears to only incorporate tigers. It doesn't, that's just her favourite animal. She can also use martial arts incorporating other creatures like scorpions, pterosaurs, and even ''Slave'']].
* TheReveal: When she was younger, a massive Shuuki appeared in front of Konomi and a few classmates. While they were cowering in fear, Konomi held her ground. Armed with a wooden board, she was ready to defend herself and her classmates. Just then, Riu arrived and saved the group from the Shuuki. Impressed with her bravery, Riu took her in as a new Mato Defense Corps member. She was recruited so young precisely because she showed such a willingness to put herself in danger, and so need training to protect herself.
* TokenWholesome: Played With. The reward she gives Yuuki is her and Yuuki going on a date where they chat happily, and in the serialised version, it all ends with going no further than gentle and passionate kisses. However, a bonus scene in the tankoubon version has her stripping to her underwear and kissing Yuuki like that as part of the date.
* WhatIsThisFeeling: She finds herself oddly interested and bothered after witnessing Kyouka rewarding Yuuki. [[spoiler:After defeating Yumeji, and sharing her first kiss with Yuuki, Konomi ends up falling in love with him.]]

\
Riu's Peach Blessing is (White Mausoleum). With it, Riu can summon one empowered ghost to fight at her side, while boosting her own strength while the ability is active.
----
* BattleCouple: Her preferred summoning is her late husband, an experienced swordsman, which lets the two fight together even after death.
* BraidsOfAction: Has her hair tied in a long braided ponytail and despite her age she's still quite capable of action.
* GuardianEntity: White Mausoleum lets her summon a ghost that serves as her partner, with her go-to spirit being that of her late husband. Since his spirit gains form from her power, he is able to kill shuuki despite being a man. His presence also empowers Riu.
* MentorArchetype: She trained both Kyouka and Konomi.
* NeverMessWithGranny: Despite being aged and retired, her wits and her skills haven't dulled. When White Mausoleum is active, she gains enough strength to send Shuuki flying.
* OldSoldier: She's an old soldier in the corps. It's why she's stepping down.
* PassingTheTorch: She hands over command of first division over to Tatara.
* RetiredBadass: She officially retires as a chief in chapter 47, but the Shuuki attack happens while she's still in attendance. However, she continues to work in her new position of vice chief.

----
* BestFriend: She's Konomi's best friend outside of the Corps and she confides in her her ideas about dating and romance.
* GreenThumb: Her Peach Blessing lets her create and control thorns from her body at will. And she's strong enough to pierce through the hand of a Devotee of the Eight Gods of Thunder and later join the Mato Defense Corps.

The section chief of the Second Division. She greets Kyouka and Yuuki at the chief's meeting before heading on ahead of them.
\
Mira's Peach Blessing is ("Scarlet Regiment": All-Killing). Mira can create clones of herself that, depending on her intent, will increase strength or focus on sheer numbers.
----
* AnimalLover: Chapter 129 reveals Ren Yamashiro's dogs love her and she enjoys sharing animal videos with the commander.
* BadassBiker: As expected from a former {{delinquent}}, she's very much skilled at riding Yuuki's bike form.
* BoringButPractical: Mira's Peach Blessing Scarlet Regiment: All-Killing allows her to create multiple physical copies of herself with the same strength as the original. On paper, it sounds considerably less flashy when compared to the abilities of her fellow chiefs. That said, it's actually proven to be a SwissArmySuperpower.
* CollaredByFashion: Wears a choker as part of her ensemble.
* CommissarCap: Just like Kyouka, she wears one as part of her uniform.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Mira was absorbed in Chapter 77 by Kuusetsu, with the latter gaining her abilities. Thankfully, Kyouka and Yuuki got her out in Chapter 80 including Koko and Naon.]]
** BadassInDistress: [[spoiler:Arguably, considering the amazing show of strength Mira gave before being absorbed.]]
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her "reward" to Yuuki involves dragging him into an armored vehicle, sharing a drink, disrobing, kissing him passionately, and then the windows fog up with her hand sliding down the passenger side's window from the inside. This is exactly like the scene from ''Film/Titanic1997'' where the male and female leads sneak into a vehicle in the Titanic's hold and have some steamy-hot sex. The author later has to draw in a bonus chapter to show that they did ''not'' go all the way, with Mira using multiple clones to make the "reward" end quicker and/or help her keep going if it became too much for her original to handle.
* EndearinglyDorky: For all her toughness as a delinquent and division chief, her blushing and awkwardness when it comes to rewarding Yuuki is quite endearing to him.
* FightingFromTheInside: A literal example. [[spoiler:Despite being assimilated by Kuusetsu, Mira wasn't completely absorbed. She was able to briefly control one of Kuusetsu's clones to help in the fight against her.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Kyouka. The two of them are very similar, and yet very different. They both have off-putting rough edges but are actually very good women who treasure their friends, family, and allies. They both dress in uniform with a CommissarCap. They both are blonde. While Kyouka is very rigid and professional most of the time, only mellowing on very special occasions, Mira comes across as a delinquent at first glance, but is actually very observant and rigid when she has cause to be, tending to Yuuki's shoelaces so 1.) He doesn't embarrasses himself in the meeting and 2.) So he doesn't wind up tripping over them on the battlefield, possibly winding up dead. She even spells it out for him, for which he's grateful.
* IndirectKiss: [[spoiler:Briefly shares one with Yuuki as part of her reward in Chapter 84 before it eventually turns into a full blown direct kiss.]]
* IOweYouMyLife: In Chapter 82, Mira wants to reward Yuuki for [[spoiler:saving her from Kuusetsu]] and initially offers to join in the reward that Kyouka is compelled to give and Tenka has volunteered to accompany. However, she can't bring herself to do it because she's too embarrassed.
* JapaneseDelinquent: Flashback panels and mentions of her past reveal she used to lead a gang in Okinawa, and as a Chief she still has the delinquent motif. Even her power is themed on having a "gang" to lead into a fight.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She might be crass and embracing of her JapaneseDelinquent image, but she's very caring to the people of her section and can be quite nice to those she trusts.
* LuminescentBlush: She gets redder than a tomato when it comes to rewarding Yuuki. Even witnessing it it's generally too much for her.
* NotSoStoic: In chapter 73 she turns into a blushing mess after catching Yuuki being rewarded by a naked Kyouka and showcases that she regards male/female intimacy very seriously.
* TheRival: Lampshaded by Yuuki. She and Kyouka both want to become the next commander of the Mato Defense Corps, but doesn't want to do it with underhanded methods.
* {{Sarashi}}: She wears bandages around her chest to go with her delinquent aesthetic.
* ScaryTeeth: Her teeth are sharp and pointy.
* SelfDuplication: Her peach ability allows her duplicate herself, and she subverts the ConservationOfNinjutsu, since usually all her copies are just as strong as she is and even power herself up. However, she can copy herself with a focus on numbers instead of power, creating far more copies at the expense of each copy being much easier to kill.
* ShowerOfAwkward: She's seen by Yuuki half naked while stepping out of the shower in Chapter 71. Before Yuuki has a chance to leave the room, Mira tells him that it's not a big deal, all while [[LuminescentBlush her face is completely flustered and redder than a tomato]].
* SwallowedWhole: [[spoiler:Kuusetsu absorbs her after defeating her, taking her powers for her own.]]
* WorfHadTheFlu: In Chapter 83 she blames her defeat at [[spoiler:Kuusetsu's]] hand due to overusing her powers to protect the people of Yokohama, leaving her too drained to hold on until Kyouka and Yuuki could arrive. [[spoiler:Kuusetsu]] even notes during the battle that Mira might have been able to kill her if she had been able to use more clones against her.

* EarlyBirdCameo: Before her formal introduction, she can be seen in a brief flashback of Mira's time as the leader of a gang of delinquents.
* NumberTwo: As Mira's vice-chief and second-in-command of their gang.
* SatelliteCharacter: Other than providing support for Mira she doesn't have much of a role.
* SuperEmpowering: Specifically, she can empower Mira from afar as long as she's waving their flag from atop their Division building, granting her super-strength and speed.

[[caption-width-right:300:''"The atmosphere feels good. I hope it stays that way."'']]
Leader of the Third Division.
\
Bell's Peach Blessing is ("Laughing Juroujin": Canopus), which allows her to take the "light" of either inanimate objects or living beings, and destroy it, reducing them to dust, making her able to essentially destroy ''anything'' tangible.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She might be incredibly shy and sweet, but her Peach Blessing comes with an incredibly destructive power.
* ButtMonkey: Bell is quite the unlucky girl. Yakumo publicly gropes her, and Ren takes any excuse to give her severe training. Also, her unit gets wiped out, not once, but twice.
* CloseRangeCombatant: The biggest drawback of Bell's Peach Blessing is that to destroy an object, she needs to get up close to the object's life force to do anything. When she fought a trio of Devotees in Chapter 99, she was at a disadvantage because one of her opponents was out of her range, forcing Bell to run up to her. It didn't help that said opponent could fly. In Chapter 105, riding Yuuki helps offset her weaknesses with a highly agile, invisible mount, but it takes a lot of energy and doesn't fully mask her presence, making it situational.
* CoveredInScars: [[spoiler:She recovers from Fukuma's attempt to kill her after being freed from her card prison, but the wounds she received left her with many scars. As Canopus' power works its magic though, the scars vanish fully before long.]]
* HealingFactor: Canopus has both an "Attack" and "Protect" mode. "Attack" mode can destroy anything tangible, whereas in "Protect" Mode [[spoiler:all her power is put into preserving her own life. In this mode even fatal injuries will heal with nothing worse than scarring to show for it, and even those scars will fade to nothing in a relatively short time. Indeed, Ren claims it is impossible to kill Bell for good unless the killer has a power that negates Canopus.]]
* IJustWantToBeLoved: Because she was always bullied or ignored, her biggest desire when getting her Peach Blessing was for everyone to like her.
* KinkySpanking: In Chapter 103 she's on the receiving end of one of these by Ren, who punishes her for not acting like a chief.
* MyGreatestFailure:
** Led her troops to defeat at the hands of Shikoku.
** It happens again in Chapter 99 when her entire team gets taken out by the Devotees. Ren manages to save her before they can take her out, but like before, she's very broken up about it.
* NormalFishInATinyPond: When she discovered the power of her Peach Blessing wasn't that impressive when compared to the other chiefs, she realized she was this and went back to her insecure self.
* OrangeBlueContrast: She has bubblegum blue hair. It contrasts quite nicely with her orange-red eyes.
* ShyBlueHairedGirl: Quite shy and nervous and her hair is blue.
* ShrinkingViolet: She is painfully shy. Her "Chief Intel" section reveals Bell was always like this, even before Ren got to her, and got bullied in elementary school for her weak-willed personality.
* SkinshipGrope: On the wrong end from Yakumo Ezo who not only gropes her breast, but puts the other hand up her skirt and pulls down her panties, ''in full view of everyone in attendance at the chief's meeting.''
* SuperpowerLottery: Invoked, she wished for a powerful peach blessing so people could stop bullying her and later respect.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: [[spoiler:Right after Bell gains more confidence following her training with 7th Division, she's suddenly ambushed by Fukuma, who wastes no time cutting her down, disposing of her body, and taking her appearance.]]
** NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:She ended up surviving and was healed thanks to Canopus' "Protect" Mode, arriving just in time to help the 7th Division defeat Rairen.]]
* ThirdPersonPerson: Bell refers to Bell this way.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: While using her close-ranged power is difficult, Chapter 105 shows that Bell is still a useful ace in the hole when facing any enemy too large or well-protected to be killed by anything except a direct attack on their lifeforce.
* TheUnfavorite: Ren Yamashiro singles her out for [[TrainingFromHell "special training"]] after her defeat at the hands of Shikoku, but the sixth and seventh divisions '''combined''' were hospitalized by Joryuu. Played with in that as unhealthy as it may be, she does this because she is genuinely interested in Bell's potential. We also find out that she was actually less hard on her in training than Kyouko ended up being.

\
Yakumo's Peach Blessing is ("Everlasting Darkness Dancing Group": Night Storm). With this power, Yakumo has complete mastery over the wind.
----
* BlitheSpirit: While she does follow orders and fulfills her duties as a section chief without complaint, she's really a free spirit that likes to just flit around where her whims take her.
* BlowYouAway:
** Chapter 52 reveals Yakumo's capable of creating powerful, tornado level winds; she's able to ride these tornadoes to get around, and Kaiko admits that she could level a city if she wanted to.
** After Yakumo tries out Kyouka's slave lending in the next chapter, her winds can reach extraordinary speeds when riding Yuuki; she cheerfully admits that they're faster than her own without him.
* CustomUniform: Yakumo wears a modified Mato Defense Corps uniform. Her jacket being shorter and opened up and, a white short undershirt that reveals her stomach.
* FlexibilityEqualsSexAbility: She is very flexible and demonstrates it by freeing herself from being tied up by Kyouka and Tenka without her powers.
* HaremSeeker: Yakumo's dream is to make a harem out of the Mato Defense Corps girls, and unfortunately for Yuuki, she just added him to that harem.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She is very grabby. In chapter 47, she "tries to cheer Bell up" by groping one of her breasts and sticking the other hand up her skirt and pulling down her panties ''right in front of everyone else'' '''including Yuuki'''. She also tries kissing Kyouka to her consternation.
* PersonalityPowers: She's a free-spirited person that does whatever whims takes her fancy, so of course she can manipulate air.
-->'''Yuuki''': What a free person... She really is like the wind.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Yuuki is flabbergasted that she can use her winds to instantly undress him of his clothes. Yakumo explains she specifically practiced for it.
* RefugeInAudacity: The fact that she stuck her hand up Bell's skirt and pulled down her panties in the middle of a Shuuki attack was so quick and shocking that nobody had time to react before they had to deal with the Shuuki.
* SchoolIsForLosers: Is a high school dropout.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: When it comes time for her to give Yuuki his "reward," she isn't in the least bothered by the fact that her body is making her strip right in his face. In fact, ''she's looking forward to it!''
* SkinshipGrope: Yakumo ''really'' likes to touch people, if Chapter 47 was any indication. It's so bad that they had to tie her up in Chapter 52 when the rest of the girls use the baths.
* WingdingEyes: She has heart eyes when really turned on from the rewards she gives Yuuki.

\
Kaiko's Peach Blessing is ("Vega's Cocoon": Miracle Care). Miracle Care allows its user to cover people inside large cocoons that heal them and restore their energy.
----
* AllWebbedUp: Her pods look like giant spider eggs complete with webbing on the walls.
* HealingVat: An organic example. Kaiko's pods cover a person and heal their injuries. How the cocoons do it isn't clear, but the person comes out good as new and refreshed.
* NakedOnRevival: Downplayed. They're not dead, just wounded from battle. Anyone who comes out of Kaiko's cocoons is butt-naked. Either because that person comes in naked after taking off their clothes or the pod somehow gets rid of them.

The section chief of the Eighth Division.
\
Her Peach Blessing is ("Noble Cathedral": Pantheon), which allows her to create a alternate space around herself that (in short) gives her and allies various advantages according to specific rules that govern the pocket dimension.
----
* AmbiguouslyBi: In her own words, she loves and respects Kyouka, often getting flustered by her, but she also considers it an affront to think anything "vulgar" about Kyouka and states she has no need or interest in getting closer to her. She is also willing to use Yuuki's slave form while knowing what she would have to do as a reward, bur even that is framed as her being willing to do anything for Kyouka. In fact, while she builds a good enough relationship with Yuuki that she is confortable kissing him, it is mostly based on how they both adore Kyouka, indirectly comparing their feelings for her, and what Yuuki feels is far less ambiguous.
* AmbiguousSituation: It's unclear if Ren Yamashiro would've arrested Varvara if she refused her offer to join the Mato Defense Corps. The implication might've been there as Ren went ''in person'' to recruit her and break the bad news to Varvara about the ruin of her family's criminal organization for stealing a Mato peach, subtly threatening to take her out too.
* BerserkButton: Anyone who insults or mocks Kyouka is easily her biggest button as Fukuma found out the hard way.
* CustomUniform: She wears a beret instead of a cap and her uniform is a SexyBacklessOutfit.
* DeathGlare: The very first expression she makes towards Yuuki is one of this.
* ExplainingYourPowersToTheEnemy: Justified. She provides an explanation on how her ability works to Fukuma because one aspect of it is that within her pocket dimension, being honest and forthcoming provides a power boost.
* GoodCostumeSwitch: In her backstory, as a conflicted girl being groomed to join her family's criminal empire, her power appeared as a terrifying black ooze, which her victims considered fitting for a "devil's child". When she joins the Mato Defense Corps, she comes to admire Kyouka. Her power then changed its appearance into the interior of a shining cathedral to represent her new devotion to the 7th Division Captain.
* HiddenDepths: She apparently likes card games.
* HorrifyingTheHorror: [[spoiler:Fukuma, a PaletteSwap shapeshifter, calls her a freak due to Varvara's resilience and the strength of the Kyouka statue she uses to assist her in their fight, right before Penko slices Fukuma in half.]]
* AnIcePerson: As part of being a DomainHolder, within the space she has power in she can create and manipulate ice to serve as a weapon.
* InTheHood: She wears one as a part of her uniform.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: After hearing about how much she adores Kyouka, Yuuki guesses that Varvara dislikes him because he is Kyouka's slave and thus closer to her. Varvara denies it, claiming that as long as Kyouka is happy, she is satisfied. The actual reason she dislikes Yuuki is because she finds the rewards he receives to be immoral, and even then she softens her stance on him after realizing he holds no vulgar feelings towards Kyouka.
* TheLeader: She leads the Eighth Division.
* MafiaPrincess: Varvara was the daughter of two [[TheMafiya Russian mafiya]] leaders; her parents showered her with love and gifts and had powerful connections to get her a Mato peach illegally. There was also the implication Varvara would've followed her parents' footsteps had Ren not recruited her and their criminal organization not been wiped out for stealing the peach that gave Varvara her powers.
* NotSoStoic: Varvara's face barely changed during the first chief meeting. Even the emergency involving the Shuuki hardly fazed her. The first time she showed feelings was when she met Yuuki alone and gave him a DeathGlare, at which point it's revealed matters related to Kyouka, who she admires, can and will destroy her poker face.
* NudityEqualsHonesty: For her reward with Yuuki, she strips until she's almost completely naked and then truthfully shares with him some personal information about herself and her mother.
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Maybe. It's likely that if Varvara didn't accept Ren's offer to join the Mato Defense Corps, she would've been arrested for eating the stolen Mato peach that her mafia parents gave her.
* TheQuietOne: She barely spoke a word during the entirety of the chief's meeting.
* ReligiousBruiser: Though not of any conventional faith. Rather, she worships Kyouka, and her power allows her to build a literal church centered around her adoration of Kyouka.
* SuddenlySpeaking: Varvara finally opens her mouth when Yuuki meets her again at Shangri-la. When he bows and wishes to get along with her in typical Japanese fashion, ''this'' is what she says to him:
-->'''Varvara:''' I... loathe you.
* TokenWhite: Among the all-Japanese Demon Corps Chiefs, her name, blond hair and blue eyes suggest that she's a westerner, potentially Russian. That said, she is a Japanese citizen.

\
Prachi's Peach Blessing is ("Swift Whip Asura": Urumi); a summonable whip that allows her to make precise, quick, and powerful strikes at an opponent.
----
* HiddenDepths: She has a deep love for comedy shows despite her mature and responsible attitude. Her parents thought she was too serious as a child and introduced her to the genre and since then, she's grown rather fond of them.
* NotSoAboveItAll: One wouldn't expect the serious and mature Vice-Chief of Varvara's unit to be a major fan of comedy shows, but she indeed is. She even bonds with Yuuki over their shared love of comedy.
* RetractableWeapon: Her Peach Blessing allows her to summon and extend her whip at will.
* TeamMom: As the Vice-Chief of the Eighth Unit, Prachi exudes a maternal air, being the voice of reason and the guiding hand for her playful (Jenna) and stoic (Varvara) team members.
* TokenMinority: Her name and appearance indicate she's Indian, the only one in the story so far.

----
* ChainmailBikini: What her Peach Blessing gives her, with a DominoMask as well.
* GenkiGirl: Jenna has a boisterous and loud personality and always seems to be in a cheerful and playful mood.
* GentleGiant: She's tall and quite physically strong, but she's also very friendly and open.
* NonUniformUniform: She wears shorts instead of a skirt or a dress, and she also wears a scarf around her neck.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She is prone to expressing her comfort and affection through physical contact, specifically hugging.
* TheTease: Shows an immediate interest in Yuuki upon meeting him and even fantizied herself and Prachi being ravished by him out of curiosity.
* WonderWomanWannabe: Her power gives her a sword and shield, and simple outfit much like the Amazon.

\
Fubuki's Peach Blessing is ("Sun-Piercing Spear": Sunset). Taking the form of a yari spear, she can extend and retract the length at will and adjust the spear's maximum power. While using the spear her own body will be empowered in turn to superhuman levels of stength and durability.
----
* ActionMom: Yep. Fubuki is Himari and Yachiho's mom, a skilled and powerful spearwoman and the leader of the Ninth Division.
* AbusiveMom: Fubuki threatened to put down Himari if she continued to drag their family name through the mud in Chapter 59; Himari stated that she wasn't kidding. That said, Himari also believed Fubuki's insults toward Kyouka were sincere, but this turned out to be merely her provoking Himari to fight her seriously. She has since then been nothing but supportive of Himari. The implication is that until she became head of the family Fubuki was not able to do much about how Himari was treated, but her own wishes were to be more loving.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: She becomes the new [[spoiler:leader of the Azuma Family by being the last Azuma standing during their traditional banquet that forces both main and branch family members to fight against each other for control over the family.]]
* CleavageWindow: Her custom uniform comes with a prominent opening for her wide cleavage.
* CurbstompBattle:
** Fubuki easily took out a group of invading Shuuki in Chapter 48.
** In Chapter 62, she fought Sorako and Takemi at once during the Azuma Banquet; both had abilities like her but were taken out in the next chapter.
** In the following chapter, she [[spoiler:defeats Yuuki in his newly acquired Skyward form without breaking a sweat and then proceeds to seemingly do the same to Himari, even going so far as to claim she's only used '''10% of her full power'''. Even when Himari goes all-out against her she isn't able to do much more than make Fubuki take the fight seriously before Himari passes out from exhaustion.]]
* DoWrongRight: At Chapter 61's end, Fubuki catches Himari giving Yuuki his reward after defeating Homare. You think she'd be angry that her daughter is doing something like that, but it turns out she's cross at Himari ''for not rewarding him properly''. Fubuki actually ''joins in'' while giving her some pointers; [[NotSoAboveItAll the best part is it's implied she got into it along with her.]]
* FullFrontalAssault: When a couple of Devotees try to assassinate her while she's bathing, she easily defeats them while completely naked.
* HealingHands: Sorta. In Chapter 59, she healed Yuuki's sore body from the events of the last chapters. Fubuki states it's not technically an ability as it is a really good massage; fittingly titled: "The Great Azuma's Massage", it's a technique made to heal the fatigue that builds up from having little time to rest.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: While at first she appeared both stern and unforgiving as the rest of the family, [[spoiler:after becoming head of the Azuma family]], she shows that she resented her mother for her way of doing things and now she wants to treat her family with love.
* HopelessWithTech: Is stated to dislike operating machines, so she gets Maia to do it for her.
* TheLeader: Fubuki's the chief of the Ninth Unit [[spoiler:and later becomes the new Azuma Family head]].
* MumLooksLikeASister: Sort of. She's clearly more mature in appearance than her daughters, but when she's introduced to Yuuki as the mother of Himari and Yachiho, his internal response is "so young!"
* MsFanservice:
** The cover of Chapter 51 greets the reader with a ''very'' welcoming picture of Fubuki in a bikini wishing them a Happy New Year.
** Most chapters that feature her show off her impressive bust and her large, exposed thighs. It's mostly the former.
** When it comes to "rewarding" Yuuki, she is every bit as forward and confident as Tenka, to the point that he finds her overwhelmingly sensual.
* ParentalFavoritism: Implied at first, when it seems as if as far as she's concerned, Himari can never do anything right. During the fight with the Former Humans and then The Eight Gods of Thunder, Himari ''carried'' Yachiho, yet Fubuki lectures Himari "for holding Yachiho back" (though Himari acknowledges that Yachiko did indeed get hurt due to needing to help her). It later seems she never really thought that badly of Himari, only wanting her to perform at her true potential.
* ParentsWalkInAtTheWorstTime:
** At the end of Chapter 58, Fubuki catches Himari in the middle of giving Yuuki a massage. Her reaction is to move Himari aside and show her how to do it right.
** Fubuki again sees Himari in the middle of something with Yuuki. This time, Himari is giving Yuuki a lewd kiss as part of his reward for Slave. Fubuki's reaction is to tell them to continue, criticize Himari's approach, and ''join in''.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers a shocking one to [[spoiler:her own mother in Chapter 65 after she becomes the new head of the Azuma Family. She points out that while it is true under Tobera's leadership the Azuma Family became strong, her obsession with strength and ruthless traditions made the family arrogant and created animosity between main and branch family members. As such, she declares that while she will follow the same ideology as her mother in making the family strong, she'll do so in her own way that's focused on treating the family with love.]]
* RetractableWeapon: Sunset can be extended and retracted at will by Fubuki, making it difficult to dodge strikes from it.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Far more confident in her womanly charms than Himari, and makes good use of them when rewarding Yuuki.
* SimpleYetAwesome: Fubuki's Peach Blessing ("Sun-Piercing Spear": Sunset) allows her to summon a large yari spear in her hand at will, and she likewise can manipulate the weapon's length and power output precisely. Far from complex, her ability and skill is nothing to scoff at and the sheer power she can exert with it and through it is superhuman.
* StacysMom: She's a very attractive and mature woman and Yuuki can't help but find her incredibly sensual whenever he receives her "rewards".
* SultryBangs: She almost always has her long bangs covering the left side of her face, which aligns with her coy and sultry personality.
* ToughLove: How she raises her children and (presumably) how she was raised by her own mother. Once she becomes head of the family she pledges to be more loving while also just as tough.
* WeaknessTurnsHerOn: Not of the physical variety, but she only starts taking a sexual interest in Yuuki when she notices how he's utter putty in her hands, declaring him "cute" after their first bit of skinship and getting a [[WingDingEyes heart]] in her visible pupil after the first reward she gives him. In their subsequent interactions, including rewards, she enjoys directing him in how to touch her or be touched by her.
* WeaponSpecialization: Fubuki's Peach Blessing, Sunset ("Sun-Piercing Spear"), takes the form of a yari (a straight-headed spear); she can change the spear's length at will and how much power it uses. Chapter 63 shows that Fubuki is also insanely fast with her weapon; [[spoiler:she took out Yuuki in his Skyward form with only 10% of her energy and wiped out the missile salvo Himari sent her.]]

Vice chief of the Ninth Unit and a member of the Azuma Family, Maia is another one of Himari's sisters.
\
Maia's Peach Blessing is ("ÅŒinaru Mono": The Great One). The Great One takes the form of giant, floating hands that Maia has complete control over. She can turn them invisible, use them to float around, or summon more if need be.
----
* TheCreon: Despite having the power and talent to aspire to be a section chief, she's perfectly happy remaining as her mother's vice chief.
* GiantHandsOfDoom: Maia's peach blessing, "The Great One", takes the form of a pair of giant floating hands. Maia can use these hands to lift people and objects or hold them down.
** BarrierWarrior: Her hands can also be used as shields, but creating too many in succession can exhaust her.
* HiddenDepths: Chapter 132 reveals she's a GamerChick and a streamer, something she wasn't enthusiastic about in sharing.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In chapter 66, Maia isn't above using her peach blessing to force Yachiho to wash her back.
* NotSoStoic: She was unfazed by Homare's threat to lob her head off, though she was a caught off guard when her sister switched out her clothes. Later chapters reveal that she's not completely stoic, she's just more prudent compared to Homare who's a bit off her nut. She also flinches when her grandmother Tobera spanked her.
* PersonalityPowers: Fubuki theorizes Maia's peach blessing manifests as giant hands because she secretly likes being embraced and protected by someone greater than herself, like her mother and grandmother.
* StoicSpectacles: Yep. She even wears them while bathing.

\
Homare's Peach Blessing is ("Line Current Water": Python). Python allows Homare to reprogram her own body via inputting a series of commands into her body through the interface on her legs.
----
* AnimeHair: Homare's hair is the shape of an 'X' with each point held up by small bands.
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: In an extra chapter, Homare makes another attempt to seduce Yuuki, but he turns the tables on her and has ''her'' pinned. Homare prepares for Yuuki to take advantage of the situation but all he does is run away leaving her blushing and confused.
* AxeCrazy: Himari states that she's got screws loose to Yuuki during their fight against her.
* BigSisterBully: She's Himari's sister-in-law, but the spirit of the trope is there. Like Yachiho she also bullied Himari growing up, but her quote implies that Homare is even worse. Chapter 62 reveals that this is due to her hating the members of the main family and Himari turned out to be the easiest target at the time.
* {{Expy}}: Her eyepatch, hairstyle, outfit, and vicious personality all make her a rather blatant one of Juri Han from ''Franchise/StreetFighter''
* EyepatchOfPower: On her right eye. She apparently only wears it to look cool since her eye looks completely normal without it.
* HairTriggerTemper: It seems that anyone who one ups her is enough to flip her lid.
* InstantCostumeChange: Homare's ability, Python, allows her to move fast enough to swap out Maia's clothes with a girly dress with bows.
* MasterComputer: Homare's Peach Blessing, Python, is able to ''program her own body'' via a 4 by 4 grid on her thighs. She programs her movements inside her brain, and her body follows that program exactly. On the downside she can't change the program once she has input, only delete it and input a new one, but her body gets much stronger during any program's execution, to superhuman levels.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In Chapter 66, Homare tries to sneak into Yuuki's room and try to seduce him in order to steal him from Himari. Thankfully, he wasn't there, and apparently Tobera got the same idea...
* PsychopathicWomanchild: Homare likes tormenting others but doesn't like it when they fight back. The first time was when Maia froze her body after switching out her clothes as a prank. The second time was in Chapter 60 when she mocked Himari with memories of bullying her and looked ready to rip Himari apart when she stood up for herself.
* RunningGag: Following her loss to Himari she becomes obsessed with the idea that if she can seduce Yuuki she will have defeated Himari by "taking" him from her (ignoring that Himari has made no claim to him, Kyouka is his master, and he has had erotic relations with quite a few other members of the corps). Thus she repeatedly tries to seduce, coerce or force herself on him, failing spectacularly every time through Yuuki fleeing, not being present to begin with, or her being stopped by someone else.
* ScaryTeeth: Her teeth are sharp and pointy.
* SeductionAsOneUpmanship: In an attempt to prove she's still superior to Himari, she tries something akin to this in Chapter 66 towards Yuuki in his room, who unfortunately for her was out at the time.
* {{Stripperific}}: Homare fights Himari and Yuuki wearing just her bra and shorts. Yuuki actually questions this and Himari answers she's got a few loose screws in her head. Though Homare claims it is to allow her sensitive skin to take in more information about her surroundings.
* SuperSpeed: In addition to increasing her strength, actions programmed into her "Python" ability can enable her to move faster than a normal human eye can follow.
* ThisCannotBe: Has this exact reaction in Chapter 62 when [[spoiler:Himari defeats her using nothing but her fists as she never expected Himari to be able to stand up to her without her ability.]]

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/KanaHanazawa
The section chief of the Tenth Division and the supreme commander.
\
Ren's Peach Blessing is ("The Infinite Universe That Puts Everything Together": Vairocana). This ability consists of her deploying mandalas to make use of the eight different powers of eights Buddhas, said powers being shown in her eyes. As of yet, the complete nature of her ability is unknown to everyone but her, but includes flight, superhuman strength, and the power to negate other Peach Blessings.
----
* TheAce: Ren was on top of everything growing up; she got first place in mock exams, won sports competitions, and was a hard-working student council president. Ren understandably got a big head from all her achievements, and it got bigger when she got Vairocana.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: She can no doubt be harsh, brutal and petty in combat and in her personal relationships, and has enough pride for ten people, but she has yet to do anything overtly villainous. While Kyouka believes that she would support inhumane experiments if they got results, even this is ultimately speculation.
* AnimalLover: Ren likes dogs and has two of them, called Kaname and Miyabi; she even tells Yuuki that he's like a dog. This, however, turn ironic when her reward to Yuuki turns out to be acting like a dog in Chapter 57.
* BigDamnHeroes: Chapter 99 has Ren arrive just in time to bring the pain to three Devotees who almost killed Bell.
* CasualKink: Implied, Ren's rewards to Yuuki hint that she's secretly into pet play as a dog.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Ren's peach blessing, Vairocana ("The Infinite Universe that puts Everything Together") gives her multiple powers which she can use with AbilityMixing.
** Flight, allowing her to zip between places.
** PowerNullifier, to nullify other peach blessings.
** Shockwaves, so she can send massive amounts of energy as attacks
** CombatClairvoyance. She doesn't have it to the same degree as Nei, but she can see things from far away.
** {{Teleportation}}: Not to the same degree as Tenka, as she cannot teleport herself, but she can send others to different locations.
* CurbstompBattle: So far, anyone who goes up against her gets their asses handed to them.
** In Chapter 48, she effortlessly takes out a group of terrorists by the time Kyouka and Yuuki arrive to help. It should be noted that these terrorists had some powers of their own, and did that help them? Nope. She negated, blocked or avoided each ability and killed or incapacitated all of them before Kyouka and Yuuki could even arrive.
** Ren gives one of these to an out-of-control Yuuki in chapter 56 while showing a bit more of her power.
** In the Chapter 57 flashback, she takes out a group of ability users and it's stated that she was holding back.
** Chapter 99 has her defeat offscreen several devotees specifically chosen to stall her, before defeating three Devotees who had severely injured the Third Unit and who were about to kill Bell.
** In Chapter 102 she drives away Joryuu and Shikoku without suffering so much as a scratch herself, though it is implied that this was all part of the god's plans.
** Varvara's mother was the feared leader of a Russian mafia organization and a powerful Peach ability user called "The Boreal Witch". Unfortunately for her, Ren beat her effortlessly, with Varvara calling the fight completely one-sided.
* DeathGlare: Her response to noticing Yuuki accidentally making eye contact with her.
* EarlyBirdCameo: In the anime she briefly is seen from the back in episode 1 in a flashback showing her meeting with other powerful leaders.
* EntertaininglyWrong: When Ren sees Kyouka rewarding Yuuki by merely showing affection, she assumes that that's all there is to the reward portion, not realizing that it is proportionate to the effort Yuuki puts in. She ends up being surprised at being forced to act like a dog and strip for Yuuki when she has to reward him.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Her "angelic" beauty masks a very harsh and cruel personality.
* {{Flight}}: The ability she is most known for due to how often she uses it, she can levitate and zip through the sky at will.
* ItsPersonal: After her embarrassing reward session with Yuuki, Ren has made it her personal mission to show Yuuki that his place is beneath her. She even ordered a dog collar to do so. When this fails spectacularly, she remains determined and adds a headband with dog ears, though she pledges to wait until after she pays Yuuki back for sparing her from being humiliated in front of the other chiefs.
* TheLeader: Ren's the chief of the Tenth Division and the Supreme Commander of the Mato Defense Corps. Ren has a lot of pull with the higher-ups in the world, like the Japanese prime minister, who sometimes asks Ren to be her escort. Her position as commander also gives her some perks, like having a Japanese garden inside of Mato.
* LegFocus: Most scenes she's in - including her introduction - go through great lengths to present how good her legs look in stockings.
* TheNeedsOfTheMany: According to Kyouka, if she's not already backing the Onmyouji Agency's horrific human experimentation, then she would probably happily do so if she believes the unwilling "sacrifices" lead to the defeat of the Shuuki, to hell with the poor women who become "former humans."
* NotSoStoic: Ren keeps her cool most of the time and looks affable to almost everyone. One of the few times where this broke was when she gave Yuuki his reward in chapter 57; afterward, she flew off and wrecked a ''mountain'' with her face red as a tomato.
* PerpetualSmiler: She's almost always smiling, but the smiles are either fake "zero yen" smiles, or slasher smiles. In her early appearances the only times on-screen where she's had any other expression is a brief time where she pondered the sheer coincidence of a massive Shuuki attack as the chiefs were all meeting, and the time where Yuuki accidentally locked eyes with her, at which point, she gave him a withering DeathGlare for a brief moment.
* PetTheDog: She adopted her dogs after they strayed onto Mato.
* PrimalFear: Implied, Chapter 102 suggests that she has a fear of humiliation as she is much more bothered by the idea of the chiefs seeing her giving Yuuki a reward than she even is by the humiliating reward itself.
* RedBaron: The president herself has given Ren titles such as "Life's Apex" and "Earth's Answer."
* RealityWarper: While the full nature of her power has yet to be revealed, in chapter 48, she flies to the source of the Shuuki horde, which was a human group, supposedly from another country, and bends the rules of physics like they're her bitch, even making a suicide bomber implode by a single touch subjecting her to pressures found at the bottom of the ocean.
* ShamefulStrip: Forced to strip against her will down to her stockings and underwear as a result of the "reward" that she owes Yuuki following his Killer Fang transformation.
* SmugSuper: Ren is supremely confident in her abilities as most likely the most powerful woman on Earth. She is dismissive toward Kyouka's concerns about the Shuuki for some time due to believing that if worse comes to worse she can always wipe out any attacking force herself. Even the Eight Gods of Thunder don't change this, as while they are far beyond any regular soldiers she knows that a chief can beat them, and since she is far more powerful than the chiefs then they aren't a threat to her either. This belief is bolstered after she agrees to try taking the fight to the Shuuki, and seems to force two Gods of Thunder to retreat while she suffers no injuries, convincing her that even multiple gods are no threat to her.
* StrippingSnag: Yuuki's fingers accidentally get hooked on the back of her bra as she is standing up during her "reward" for him in Chapter 57, which leads to her becoming half-naked from the waist up.
* SuperpowerLottery: Ren's Peach Blessing, Vairocana ("The Infinite Universe that puts Everything Together") is special because in effect it grants her multiple abilities instead of one. Her power ranges from Flight and Levitation, letting her chair float with her and covering vast distances in seconds, negating ''other'' Peach Blessings, ''deflecting'' Peach Blessings, and a vague power that seems to replicate environments in various parts of the world around the body of her target (namely copying the pressure of the deep sea to kill an enemy and keep her from exploding), or possibly just transports them to that environment with a touch. Vairocana manifests a light ring with several cards around her and a unique symbol in her eyes. In chapter 56, we get another glimpse of Ren's power. Via the use of mandalas, Ren can use the abilities of any of the eight buddhas that she places on her pupils. This means she can have access to two powers at any one time, and equally frightening is that no one knows what all eight can do, save for Ren herself. She can also at least double the strength of any one power by placing the same mandala in both eyes (doing so turned one of her attacks into a blast capable of one-shotting a building-sized Shuuki from at least a ''continent'' away). Despite how she seems unbeatable, there is an unforeseen flaw showed in chapter 57. That is her ability negation power, while it can negate the activation of the Slave form itself, can't negate the need to reward Yuuki after his work is done. Even when she enhanced this in Chapter 102 by using both of her eyes, she still had to reward Yuuki by acting like a dog. She also can't negate the inherent powers the Eight Gods of Thunder can use.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: "Excessive" would be the best way to describe how much force she utilizes in fights. She pretty obviously could have caught most of the terrorists who attacked Unit 10 alive for later questioning, but was insulted enough that they dared to attack her base that she brutally killed most of them then and there.
* WardrobeMalfunction: In her haste to escape her humiliating "reward" given to Yuuki by standing up too quickly, his fingers get caught on the back of her bra which ultimately results in it being ripped off and leaving Ren bare-chested.
* {{Womanchild}}: Downplayed. Ren is the Supreme Commander of the Mato Defense Corps, but she's still young and does things girls around her age would do. For instance, she's excited when she learns about Slave lending and whines unhappily when Kyouka initially tells her no.

Those who give her their signature in a scroll can enter and leave the dome; as an added bonus, those who've signed their names will have their injuries healed inside after battle, no matter how severe.
----
* BarrierWarrior: Builds powerful barriers to referee the matches. They're noted to be superior to normal barriers.
* DoesNotLikeMen: Greeted everybody at the exhibition match with a smile, except for Yuuki, to whom she sported a a look of suspicion/disgust. Her opinion of him changed after seeing him fight in the match and later the shuuki that interrupted the exhibition matches.
* {{Fangirl}}: She is a huge fan of Kyouka Uzen, and loves to watch the latter fight. Seeing Kyouka ride Yuuki has her become his fan also and seek out an autograph once the fight with the "Humanoid Shuuki" is over.
* HarbingerOfImpendingDoom: In chapter 47, she rushes into the chief's meeting to sound the alarm that an unprecedented wave of Shuuki are attacking.
* HealingHands: She can heal anyone who gives their signature for her "arena" of any injuries once a given battle in the arena is done.

* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: Despite the family getting a lot of focus, namely her mother and various sisters, not a word has yet been said referencing Himari's father, or indeed any men in the Azuma family. Fubuki notably does not wear a wedding ring, and no one (including her daughters) has any issue with her "rewarding" Yuuki as far as cheating is concerned (Yakumo also mentions that as far as she knows ''no one'' living in Mato currently has a lover). A small "family tree" showing how various Azuma members are connected to each other likewise leaves out fathers entirely. However, that both generations feature sister-in-laws suggests that there were at least at some point men who held relationships that allowed for these titles. A remark by Tobera on how the family could "take" Yuuki (and basically have an orgy with him), and the implications they are known for doing this to men who interest them, may suggests the family isn't in the habit of taking conventional husbands so much as consorts who may have less legal standing but still benefit from becoming "part" of the family. This is further supported in chapter 89 by Riu noting that the Azumas will eventually "take Yuuki Wakura in" because of his potential worth to them.
* BadassFamily: All family members are strong in their own right. And those that aren't a part of the Mato Defense Corps are active in other fields, such as special forces specializing in ability-related crimes.
* BigScrewedUpFamily:
** Save for Yachiho, they all treat Himari as the BlackSheep and claim to have no qualms ''ending her'' if she continues to drag their name through the mud.
** There is also a lot of bad blood between the main and branch families, with members of the branch families resenting the main family for their arrogance, perceived or actual.
* NonIndicativeName: The Azuma Banquet event doesn't involve any food being eaten.
* PassingTheTorch: The "Azuma Banquet" is basically a battle royale between Azuma family members to see who becomes the next family head.
* TheSocialDarwinist: This seems to be the ideology of the family as a whole, as they won't tolerate ''anyone'' who might bring shame to them. "Shame" being putting in anything below a good result in a given task. While this has pushed them to excel, it also has created a great deal of division and resentment within the family, something Fubuki aims to bring a balance to after she becomes the new head of the family, to push for strength while still allowing love and compassion to flourish.
* SuperpowerLottery: The Azuma family is a mix of mid- and high-rollers. Yachiho states having a wild ability like her [[TimeMaster Golden Hour]] is regular for an Azuma family member.

The current head of the Azuma family.
\
Tobera's Peach Blessing is ("East Star Frost": Transience). With this power, Tobera absorbs the life force from living things ranging from plants to other living beings and make use of it for herself or transfer it to others to heal or strengthen them.
----
* TheCavalry: [[spoiler:As Kuusetsu's rampage gets worse in Chapter 77, Tobera, wearing her old commander outfit, is called in to help deal with her]].
* ComedicSpanking: She apparently likes to slap her granddaughters in the butt, either to punish or congratulate them, to their dismay.
* CustomUniform: Her Mato Defense Corps' uniform comes with larger shoulder pads with fur and a kama that only covers the right side of her legs.
* DirtyOldWoman:
** Besides trying to seduce Yuuki with a SchoolSwimsuit, she slaps her granddaughter Maia's butt when they're fighting together.
** In Chapter 79, Tobera thinks to herself how the Azuma family could offer their "support" to Himari should she take too long to "take" Yuuki; said support is a ''sixsome'' consisting of herself, Himari, Yachiho, Maia, Fubuki, and, of course, Yuuki.
* DoWrongRight: In an extra chapter, Tobera is upset with Homare for her failed attempt at seducing Yuuki, specifically, the fact she ''failed'' rather than making the attempt itself.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:She takes being defeated by her daughter pretty well and allows Fubuki to lead the family however she sees fit, seeing it as Fubuki's right for having proven her strength]].
* IWantGrandkids: After the Azuma banquet concludes, Tobera tells Himari that she wants her to give birth to lots of babies for the Azumas, especially since she already has a man in Yuuki. If Fubuki didn't stop her and she had her way, she might have made Himari and Yuuki have sex then and there.
* KarmaHoudini: Despite ostensibly being the cause of some of the Azuma family's major mental screwups and Himari's insecurities, she gets no real punishment other than a speech from her daughter and getting hit in the head by her. She arguably even accomplished what she wanted to do which was create a new generation of strong Azuma women. That said, she was not a wholly terrible matriarch (at least as far as we've seen) and did encourage Himari once she proved that she did indeed have strength within her.
* LifeDrain: Tobera's Peach Blessing, Transcience, allows her to take the life force of other living beings, such as plants, to keep herself young and healthy, which explains why she still looks like a teenager despite being a grandma; she can also give any spare life energy she has to other people, allowing them to rapidly heal from injuries. With some preparation time she can target and drain whole crowds of enemies at a fair distance, but with direct contact she can drain an opponent to death in ''moments.'' Other characters sometimes wonder if she is more monster than human.
* NeverMessWithGranny: She might not look like it, but she used to lead the Mato Defense Corps and has all the power of her youth.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She can easily pass for being a school-girl, probably early-teenager at oldest, and yet she's old enough to be a grandmother. Those who know this often find the age she chooses to be unsettling.
* PassingTheTorch:
** After Riu from the First Division decided to pass leadership onto Konomi, Tobera chose to do the same by starting the "Azuma Banquet" to select the next head of the family.
** She was the previous commander of the Mato Defense Corps behind Ren Yamashiro before she gave her position to her.
* RapidAging: With Transcience, she can suck the life out of a nearby living thing to the point that they age to death. For ethical and practical reasons, she tends to target plants when not in battle with an enemy.
* RetiredBadass: Tobera was a commander just like Ren Yamashiro before she stepped down; she's still dangerous, make no mistake.
* SailorFuku: Tobera wears a schoolgirl sailor uniform even though she's a grandmother. Fubuki is actually embarrassed by it and prefers that her mom acts her age.
* TheSocialDarwinist: As per her quote above, she claims she will get rid of any Azumas who are too weak. That said, she is interested in whether Himari will flourish or die out, and is pleased to see that she proved she grew stronger when Himari manages to beat Homare.
* SupernaturallyYoungParent: She's the mother of Fubuki and the ''grandmother'' of Himari and Yachiho, yet she looks younger than all of them thanks to her Peach Blessing enabling her to reverse her aging as much as she wants.
* {{Womanchild}}: Zigzagged. Tobera is the mother of Fubuki and the grandmother of Himari and Yachiho, but she still looks like a teenager due to her Peach Blessing rejuvenating her health and still acts like she is one. That said, she will act her age when the situation calls for it, like when selecting a new family head.

A member of the Azuma branch family. Yumina is Himari's sister-in-law alongside Homare.
----
* BadassNormal: Maybe. At first glance, Yumina seems to be a regular person. She doesn't seem to be affiliated with the Mato Defense Corps or the special unit that Takemi and Sorako are with. It also appears that she doesn't have any powers, as it's a bit ambigous as her skill with a bow ''is'' her power, or that she's just a really good archer.
* EyesAlwaysClosed: Yumina's eyes are always shut, regardless, she's shown to be a proficient archer.
* PunnyName: "Yumi" can be interpreted in Japanese as "bow", and in the short time she's seen, she uses a bow and arrow to fight.
* TimeForPlanB: Yumina acted as a support sniper just in case Sorako and Takemi's fight with Fubuki went south. When the fight does turn to Fubuki's favor Sorako hopes Yumina can take her out. Unfortunately, Maia found her and stopped her before she could.

[[caption-width-right:300:''"Stay behind me, Yuuki."'']]
The primary antagonists of the story.
----
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: They are mindless beasts, cannot be reasoned with, and attack humans on sight.
* DumbMuscle: They are super-humanly strong and resilient, but mostly completely mindless, charging at any non-shuuki they see, regardless of barrier, obstacle, or difficulty in reaching their target, and they won't stop until they're dead.
* EvilEvolves: They started as mindless beasts, but over the decades more intelligent and powerful shuukis that can think, plan, and have more diverse powers than the mindless beasts versions have begun appearing.
* FacelessMooks: While they technically do have faces, their expressions are almost always frozen into a rictus grin, and most shuuki can't be readily differentiated based on facial features alone. "Strong" Shuuki on the other hand always have quite unique designs.
* FusionDance: One of the few "strategies" the mindless ones can use is to fuse with each other to turn into giants should a battle turn against them. This predictable behavior actually makes them easier to deal with provided you have fighters who can kill them in the enlarged state as it enables the entire horde to be killed at once.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Almost nothing is known about them, not their life cycle, their usual habits and habitats, how they reproduce. It's all a mystery. The only motive they seem to have for attacking is simple hunger, as they eat any kind of meat regardless of the animal. Kyouka states at various times that the shuuki she used as her slaves mount would be satisfied to be rewarded with some raw pork, suggesting hunger is the only desire they have.
* IFightForTheStrongestSide: Of an instinctive variety. Despite their inability to communicate themselves, they can be commanded verbally and show greater strategy when this is the case. Aoba, Naon and Koko all were able to subjugate a fair number of Shuuki by proving themselves stronger than them, albeit this only worked because the Shuuki view them as fellow Shuuki, ignoring their half human nature. But this meant when the still more powerful Gods of Thunder showed up it was a simple matter for Shikoku to turn Aoba's Shuuki against her.
* ImmuneToBullets: Conventional weapons are all but completely useless against them. It takes Mato peach powers to fight back; a Mato power that makes an exact copy of a conventional weapon works, and so do weapons enhanced by Mato powers, but not the basic weapon itself. Kyouka's martial arts are the one known exception, with her somehow being able to harm shuuki even without using a ability or something empowered by an ability, but nobody has figured out how this works and none have managed to replicate it despite multiple others going through the same training.
* TechnicolorFire: When they are killed, the body of a Shuuki rapidly dissolves/burns up in a mass of blue flames.
* ZergRush: The ones that are just mindless beasts mostly attack by swarming in numbers.
[[/folder]]

!!Former Humans
[[folder:As a whole]]
In rare cases, for uncertain reasons, women who consume a Mato peach while in Mato undergo a strange transformation, becoming beings who are half human and half Shuuki. They all have a few obvious monstrous traits, and black skin that looks much like skintight clothing. Numbering only a few dozen, to escape human experimentation, they hide underground in Mato, moving from one Hidden Village to another.
----
* ActionGirl: As is the case with most characters in the manga, all of them are female but are perfectly at home in a battlefield. Aoba has power on par with a chief.
* FacialMarkings: All of them have angular markings on or around their cheeks.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: They and their leader Aoba oppose the demon hunters for at first an unrevealed reason. [[spoiler:After they have Yuuki, they explain to him that it's because the Omyou Agency, who are strongly affiliated with the demon hunters, imprisoned and performed horrific experiments on them and they want them to be stopped]].
* MsFanservice: While they are ''not'' the target of some of the most erotic scenes of the manga, they get quite a few scenes of them. Their outfits also lack the modesty seen in most of the human's uniforms, so a lot of attention is put on just how little they actually cover themselves. Originally, it looked like they were all wearing dark skin-tight bodysuits, with other clothes over it. However, it's later revealed to actually be their ''bare skin'', meaning they're all nearly just barely covered by what they ''do'' wear.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: In chapter 31, they state their intentions to storm the Onmyou Agency and destroy it to get their intentions across and save any other prisoners. While they tamed a lot of Shuuki in preparation for this, they never get the chance to instigate this attack, and later chapters prove that this would've been a ''horrible'' idea for a number of reasons. A) they are hopelessly outnumbered by the Onmyou Agency and the Demon Corps, B) regular Demon Corps soldiers are a match for some their best combatants, with their absolute strongest being the only one at chief-level, and C) with the introduction of [[TheAce Yamashiro Ren]] (who may or may not be in league with the Onmyou Agency), and the six other chiefs (of whom each have incredible power), it's quite clear to see their attack wouldn't have succeeded.

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/TomoriKusunoki
Yuuki's older sister who disappeared in a Mato Mishap five years ago. She recently appeared as a Shuuki-like creature, with far more power than she should have. She is the leader of the Former Humans. Her Peach ability is Big Sister Mode: Invincible, a flexible and multi-faceted power. She also has the unique capacity to eat Mato Peaches to further enhance her strength and senses.
----
* BareHandedBladeBlock: Does this against Kyouka's sword in chapter 6 as one of many displays of how powerful she is.
* TheBeastmaster: For a time she commanded the powerful Shuuki "One-Horn"; which she named Kidoumaru, and it served as her mount during battle.
* BenevolentBoss: Even with all her quirks and flaws, the rest of the Former Humans in her camp adore her and happily obey her orders.
* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' interrupt her when she's gushing about her brother. The last creature who did was reduced to LudicrousGibs in an instant, and it was one of the giant Shuuki at that. The Demon Corps themselves are also a big one for her early on.
* BigSisterInstinct:
** She ''really'' doesn't react well when Tenka claims she's dating Yuuki, believing the chief is a danger to him. She warms up to her once she sees that Tenka does care about Yuuki's feelings, and before long seems to even become receptive to Tenka referring to her as "sister".
** When her brother got hurt by Kuusetsu she reacted with pure fury and a full power blast of her BreathWeapon.
* BreathWeapon: Can fire a massive energy beam from her mouth, the speed going up if she has recently eaten a Mato peach.
* DeathGlare: Had these mastered ''as a child.'' She gave off a potent glare against a couple of bullies that tried to harass her brother.
* DidNotSeeThatComing: She was shocked and horrified when her pet Kidomaru turned on her in chapter 40.
* EntertaininglyWrong: When she sees Koko licking Yuuki's naked body, with him pinned under her, she rightly gets the wrong idea. Fortunately for Koko, the misunderstanding is explained.
* FatherIWantToMarryMyBrother: Discussed. She states that when Yuuki was younger, ie a pre-teen, he would frequently proclaim the desire and promise to marry her when he grew up, only to become "mischievous" when puberty hit.
* FighterMageThief: The mage to Koko's fighter and Naon's thief.
* IncestSubtext: The subtext seems to be out the window judging by her reaction to Yuuki when they first reunite, but once they do it again but properly, it rears back to subtext as she can either be read as being in love with Yuuki or just really overly protective of him. Notably they have not been seen to do anything suggestive with each other, aside from a fantasy another character had about them.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: As a barely pre-teen, when her brother was threatened by bullies, and the bullies went after her to further break him, she could, and did, take down guys twice her size faster than they could blink, to the point they rightfully feared she had already eaten a Mato peach, when she hadn't even seen one yet. No longer applicable as an adult as she is quite tall.
* PrehensileHair: Her hair serves as a powerful weapon, even able to OneHitKill a giant Shuuki by wrapping around and crushing it into a bloody pulp as she can grow the hair a good hundred feet in seconds without issue. She is dexterous enough with it to use it as a extra hand, and can gently cradle as easily as crush or cut. She can also detach it at will, enabling her to shoot clumps of it as a sharp projectile.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Joryuu threw her from one side of the Hidden Village to the other.
* StealthMentor: Though Yuuki's flashbacks show her just wrestling him into submission for fun, she was secretly training him into a CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass, which Kyouka lampshades.
* SuperSenses: By eating a Mato Peach, she can enhance her strength and senses to even greater levels, to the extent that she could keep up with Tenka's instant teleportation by hearing/feeling where she was going to pop out and be quick enough to react to it. She tends to carry a few peaches with her at all times for an emergency power boost.
* UsedToBeASweetChild: A flashback shows that while she was very mischievous, she was indeed a good and kind older sister to Yuuki and protected him from bullies, though she loved to wrestle him into submission herself.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Her transformation gave her power on par with a unit chief, but also caused her to rampage through Mato like a monster. She retreated underground, where it took her ''years'' to regain her human mind and control of her powers. Only then did she meet and join up with the other Former Humans.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: As a child she loved to wrestle Yuuki into submission.
* {{Yandere}}: Invoked only to be downplayed, as in the end she was simply more desperate to reunite with and save Yuuki (from what she thought was forced slavery) than she was crazy or unreasonable.

----
* TheBeastMaster: She initially rides a large, six limbed Shuuki, which she named Akura. Akura acted as Naon's mode of transportation in battle until it was killed.
* BerserkButton: The Mato Defense Corps themselves are one for all of the former humans, including her. Even through her TranquilFury Yuuki can tell just how pissed she is.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "X is beautiful" or "X is not beautiful" when she's upset.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Naon, alongside Koko, was absorbed by Kuusetsu and remained inside her until Kyouka and Yuuki slashed them out]].
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appears in episode 3 during the equivalent of chapter 7 in the manga.
* FighterMageThief: The thief to Koko's fighter and Aoba's mage.
* HornedHumanoid: She has seven horns atop her head in an asymmetrical, crown-like fashion.
* {{Intangibility}}: She can phase through objects and people at will, and uses this ability to escape her imprisonment and human experimentation at Onmyou Agency as well as rescue a number of other prisoners there. Phasing through things that are moving is more difficult/takes longer, however.
* MsFanservice: It helps that she's one of the most well-endowed girls in the entire manga. Despite the former humans' outfits already being far less modest than the Demon Hunter's uniform, Naon's outfit stands out the most; emphasising her breasts, midriff and thighs quite nicely, with only a skin-tight bodysuit, boots, a corset and a cloak to cover herself. That said, it is later revealed her "bodysuit" is actually her bare skin transformed when she became a Shuuki-like creature; meaning her breasts and rear are technically on full display all the time.
* ProudBeauty: Is very proud of her good looks, and while initially horrified at her transformation she has come to see it as being beautiful too. When Yuuki stares at her she quickly assumes he has been charmed by her beauty (when in fact he has been in effect drugged by a Mato mushroom).
* {{Stripperific}}: Naon wears very little in the way of modesty, with her breasts and rear effectively on full display at all times.

A hotblooded former human who assaulted the Seventh Division. Her ability is Koko Juice, which allows her to control and secrete her body fluids for both healing and defense.
----
* ArtEvolution: A very minor example, but the horn on her head looks different in her first appearance compared to her later ones. It is straighter and more cone-shaped as opposed to the original rigid and talon-like design seen then.
* TheBeastMaster: She initially rides an enormous, furry Shuuki, which she affectionately named Kuma.
* BerserkButton: The Mato Defense Corps are one for her. When Yuuki brings them up, she angrily remarks up that ''they are the enemy''.
* BloodKnight: She's definitely enthusiastic about fighting, and gets quite a kick out of her battle with the Demon Corps.
* CleavageWindow: A rather low one too, though her lack of breasts and her black skin make it less obvious.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Koko, alongside Naon, was absorbed by Kuusetsu and remained inside of her until Chapter 80 when Kyouka and Yuuki slashed them out]].
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appears in episode 3 during the equivalent of chapter 7 in the manga.
* FighterMageThief: The fighter to Aoba's mage and Naon's thief.
* GenkiGirl: She definitely qualifies as this. She's very energetic and cheery in and out battle.
* LightningBruiser: Physically powerful enough to take on Shushu in her enlarged state. Though she's the only one who battles while not riding her Shuuki, it's likely because it would only ''slow her down''.
* HealingHands: Her saliva possesses healing properties.
* HornedHumanoid: She has a single, straight horn on the left side of her forehead.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: When she gets caught by Aoba licking a naked Yuuki, Aoba assumes the worst but Naon quickly clarifies that it was to heal Yuuki's wounds with her healing saliva.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedHead: Inverted; she has red eyes and mint green hair.
* SwallowedWhole: [[spoiler:She's fed alive to the larval form of the fourth "eight god of thunder". She gets better.]]
* WoundedGazelleGambit: She fakes being a victim of a Mato Disaster to lure to lure members of the seventh division away so Aoba can grab Yuuki away from Kyouka.
* WoundLicking: She ends up doing this to an injured and unconscious Yuuki. Justified though, since her saliva has healing properties.

Its purpose is unknown, but according to Shikoku, it was supposed to occur after the rest of the Gods launched an all-out attack on humanity. But after Yuuki and Kyouka [[spoiler:killed Kuusetsu]], they changed the plan by starting the Day of Purification ''first'', then beginning their all-out attack.
* SuperMode: Each of the gods has a "fully powered form" substantially stronger than their default appearance. They typically only bring it out if they have to, suggesting it may be too draining to stay in the form for too long.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Inverted, the team is made up of six females and two males.

----
* AffablyEvil: Unfailingly polite but is a vicious woman who loves to brutalize the demon hunters, for no explained reason.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: She can turn her sclera black at will, and sides with the shuuki.
* CardCarryingVillain: In chapter 40, she boasts that making humans suffer is her role as "a god of thunder."
* CastingAShadow: Can leap from one shadow to another. This allows her to rescue Rairen, to his annoyance.
* FacialMarkings: Has a strange marking on her tongue. Its significance is currently unclear.
* AGodAmI: Calls herself and Joryuu "gods of thunder" and says the Demon Hunters are free to worship them at any time.
* TheGadfly: Loves to tease Rairen just to get a reaction.
* IntriguedByHumanity: Finds humans fascinating as well as their technology (such as smart phones and game consoles). This does not stop her from letting the Shuuki run wild on Earth, nor does it do anything to dissuade her from attacking the Demon Hunters.
* LotusEaterMachine: The snakes that make up her hair can exhale a toxic gas that induces hallucinations in others. She exploits this to try and murder both Tenka and Shushu.
* PokeInTheThirdEye: Does this to Nei, bragging that the exhibition match between sixth and seventh division would be interrupted by an attack.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Wears tights that stop just shy of her skirt line.
* SnakePeople: She has snakes for hair.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: She sends off Rairen and Joryuu and then stays behind to watch Yuuki and Kyouka fight "One Horn" out of idle curiousity, but when Yuuki and Kyouka win, she becomes very, very interested in him. 1051* LightningFireJuxtaposition: He is seen being able to summon lightning from the sky and his hands, while also being capable of shooting balls of flame from his mouth. Something to note is that his eyes correspond to which power is being used, as his right and left eye glow when using lightning and fire respectively (though this isn't always the case).
* MadeOfIron: As far as we've seen, nothing short of [[UnrealisticBlackHole Tenka's ultimate attack]] has come close to killing him, and he's been able to shrug off attacks with no permanent injury.
* OneWingedAngel: Has a true form that he takes once his relatively smaller normal one gets destroyed. It is a titanic humanoid mass with large ExtraEyes.
* PlayingWithFire: Thinking he can only attack with lightning is a suicidal miscalculation. If you're distracted, he can, and will, also attack with powerful fire-based attacks.
* ShockAndAwe: Can attack with lightning, either by shooting it from his hands or summoning it from the sky.
* SourSupporter: [[spoiler:Much like Fukuma, he's ''not at all'' amused about his current condition inside Yuuki's mental world, especially with how hard he looks down on humans, but he begrudgingly (with some convincing from Kuusetsu) accepts living in him after seeing him as [[DamnedByFaintPraise at least slightly passable as a vessel to harbor him]].]]

-->'''Yuuki:''' You're crazy.\
'''Kuusetsu:''' You ''will'' sleep with me.

** Kuusetsu takes a lot of pride in her looks, so landing a blow on her is enough to make her mad, and calling her ugly is another one. Mira pushed both of them during her fight with her.
* CannibalismSuperpower: She gains the attributes and powers of the people she absorbs, allowing her to grow more powerful over time. 1087* SuicidalOverconfidence: Which Reiren calls her out on. She hasn't even fought the demon hunters once, yet she's sure she can take them all on by herself.
* SuperMode: Hers features black sclerae, larger horns, and substantially increased strength. Among the gods it is still notably the weakest of all the fully powered forms.
* TimeForPlanB: Chapter 81 shows Kuusetsu didn't just kiss Yuuki to experience sex. [[spoiler:By leaving a bit of her power inside him, Kuusetsu's spirit can survive in his head should her physical body die in the real world.]]
* VillainRespect: She actually grows to respect Mira after seeing her giving her such a hard fight. [[spoiler:Which is why she absorbs her instead of just killing her.]]
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Kuusetsu becomes interested in Yuuki after learning that he's Shikoku's favorite. [[spoiler:After witnessing a couple having intercourse, she tries to have intercourse with him to see what would happen in chapter 73]].
* YouAreWhoYouEat: Shikoku speculates her personality may be the result of the former humans she consumed in her larval state. Chapter 60 confirms that this is the case, as she gets the ability of whomever she eats. Though the downside to this is that she gets their personalities too.

* {{Fangirl}}: Of sorts. The reason why Fukuma morphs her body to look like Ren is that she enjoys looking like her.
* LightIsNotGood: Fukuma wears an all-white version of the Mato Defense Corps uniform. But she's a God of Thunder and suggests murdering all of humanity to help cheer up Shikoku over [[spoiler:Kuusetsu's death.]]
* MesACrowd: She can split off portions of her power to create weaker, smaller versions of herself so she can fight more than one enemy at the same time.
* PaletteSwap: When Fukuma changes her appearance to that of an Mato Defense Corps member, she is still easy to spot, as while the physical ''shape'' matches, her hair and skin tone don't match the person she's copying. When mimicking Ren, her hair is pink, and her skin is tan, and when she's copying Varvara, her skin is also tan, and she has black hair. [[spoiler:[[KillAndReplace Upon dealing with Bell]], she shows she can correct this discrepancy and match their appearance exactly.]]
* PsychoPink: Volume 15 reveals that her hair and halo are pink colored and part of the gods of thunder.
* SecondaryColorNemesis: Volume 15 would reveal her uniform as Ren is colored white and purple with a green cape to contrast with the red, black, and yellow uniforms of the Mato corps.
* ShapeshifterDefaultForm: Of the preferred form variety. Namely she tends to look like a dark-skinned Ren with sharp teeth unless she has reason to take another form, and it is simply because she likes how Ren looks. Her actual true form is implied to be an amorphous human-sized mass of flesh, as this is what she becomes [[spoiler:when she is killed.]]
* ShapeshifterGuiltTrip: [[spoiler:She tried this on Varvara by transforming into Kyouka so Varvara would drop her guard, but instead it pressed her BerserkButton so hard she invoked holy war.]]
* SourSupporter: [[spoiler:Due to her spirit being absorbed into Yuuki's mental world, she's essentially forced to play amicably with him as she's virtually powerless otherwise to really retaliate in her current condition. 1134* SuperMode: Like the others gods, she possesses one. However, [[spoiler:Varvara manages to restrain and kill her before she can transform into it.]]

!!The Devotees
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_devotees.png]]
The Devotees are former humans given powers by the Gods of Thunder, surpassing their former humanity. In exchange for this power, the Devotees act as the Gods' soldiers.
----
* CoolMask: The Devotees' masks are very menacing, simple, and cool looking.
* EvilCounterpart: To the Former Humans.
** Unlike the Aoba and the other former humans at the Hidden Village who unwillingly lost their humanity and want to become regular people again, the Devotees willingly gave up their humanity for power and servitude under the Eight Gods of Thunder.
** Also, while the former humans aren't really that evil and only want revenge on the Onmyou Agency for experimenting on them against their will, the Devotees are immoral and want to destroy ''all'' of society.
* EvilWearsBlack: The Devotees wear black cloaks and are entirely loyal to the Gods of Thunder, who want to destroy human civilization.
* InvoluntarySuicideMechanism: Every Devotee bears on their body a curse mark that activates soon after they are defeated and/or captured, rendering them unable to divulge any secret information they may have on the Gods of Thunder. The outward effect of the curse mark resembles a significant portion of the body exploding, but it goes deeper than that, destroying their consciousness, rendering them comatose and soon killing them even if their body was healed. Even a direct injection of life force from Tobera can't reverse it. Removing the mark or even the part of the body the mark is on is likewise ineffective, as it soon reappears somewhere else on the body. Yumeji Shimomura is the only one to survive (perhaps because she had ascended to being a provisional God of Thunder), and she is still rendered largely comatose.
* MeaningfulName: As their name implies, the Devotees are entirely loyal to the Eight Gods of Thunder and whatever plans they have.
* RankUp: The Devotees don't just serve as the Eight Gods of Thunder's soldiers, but they also act as potential candidates to join their ranks, but only the most accomplished member can become a God of Thunder.
* TranshumanTreachery: They're all former humans who became the Gods of Thunders' soldiers in exchange for power.
* UndyingLoyalty: To the Eight Gods of Thunder.

The previous Chief of the Mato Defense Corps Seventh Unit who lost her position, and later joined the Eight Thunder Gods, becoming one of the Devotees until she was ascended as a Thunder God to fill in Kuusetsu's vacant spot.
\
Yumeji's Peach Blessing is ("Tyrant's Edict": Imperium). It's a telekinetic power that lets Yumeji manipulate objects and people alike.
----
* EvilWearsBlack: Yumeji still wears her old Mato Defense Corps uniform under a black cloak, which already has a dark color palette, and she's a member of the Devotees and the Eight Gods of Thunder, groups dedicated to exterminating humanity.
* FaceHeelTurn: She's the former Chief of the Mato Defense Corps' 7th Division, but agreed to fight for the Eight Gods of Thunder in hopes of getting revenge. When that failed, despite being practically comatose, she started helping the corps again.
* FreudianExcuse: As she puts it, she grew up "in a ditch," and this left her with a deep inferiority complex and desire for power and acknowledgement. Losing her position in the Mato Defense Corps shattered her fragile ego, leaving her to be easily tempted by the Gods of Thunder. When asked why she ''really'' joined the Gods of Thunder, she can only somberly reply with the following:
-->'''Yumeji:''' This is a world where no one would look at me. And I wouldn't look at the world either. That's all...
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: She decides to smoke a cigarette during her fight against Konomi, and she's not a good person.
* HerosEvilPredecessor: She once had the position Kyouka is in now, making her as evil a senior member to the whole 7th Division as she can be.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: When she was chief she challenged Kyouka to a duel with the condition the loser had to leave the corps. She did this believing Kyouka would retract her protests over Yumeji's brutal work pace, but Kyouka accepted the duel; and, in part due to Yumeji not yet being willing to kill her, Kyouka won.
* {{Jerkass}}: Yumeji is a very unpleasant person; she's arrogant, doesn't care for civilian lives, and it's clear she enjoys using her new powers as a God of Thunder to make others suffer. Chapter 94 reveals that was a hardass chief who worked her subordinates down to the bone.
* MindOverMatter: What she can do with Imperium. Aside from lifting and throwing objects, she also can manipulate specific points of a target and control them, like almost twisting Konomi's head off while keeping the rest of her body still. That said, a strong will can resist her powers to an extent, and her telekinesis is also directional enough that it can be dodged if you can sense it coming.
* PowerFloats: Whether it's from her Peach Blessing, from being a God of Thunder, or both, Yumeji can fly.
* {{Revenge}}: Riu concludes Yumeji's reason for attacking the Mato Defense Corps: Kyouka won her place as the Seventh Unit's chief and now wants revenge. Yumeji doesn't bother denying it, though the real reason seems to be more complex than that.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Chapter 98 reveals what happens when a Devotee fails a task assigned by the eight gods. She either fights to the bitter end in battle, dying "honorably," ''or she explodes'' because of "God's Punishment." [[spoiler:She just barely survives it, using her Telekinesis ability to keep her heart pumping. Kyouka takes off with her, trying to keep her alive for questioning. She succeeds, and while Yumeji still remains semi-comatose, she is able to provide coordinates to a secret meeting place in Mato for the Devotees.]]

* TheCakeIsALie: They tell Naon that they'll ''try'' to find a way to cure her peach going out of control and make her human again as part of their research. A few months of suffering, and she goes ScrewThisImOuttaHere, taking as many other test subjects as she could with her.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Going by Naon's memories, when they capture a Mato survivor who has eaten a Mato peach and gone out of control, they spew a bunch of platitudes and bow their head to the ground while begging for her cooperation with human experiments, but then completely ignore her wants and needs, aside from the essentials to keep her alive, keeping her in an energy cage and treating her like a lab rat.
* JustThinkOfThePotential: The Onmyuu Agency has convinced Japan that the profit to be gained from Mato's resources and powers is great, and as such they enjoy great influence over the country.
* PlayingWithSyringes: They violate some serious parts of the Geneva Convention for human experimentation. The list below is hardly exhaustive for their violations.
## Test subjects must provide fully-informed consent to any and all experiments, including knowing the dangers, pitfalls, and side-effects. This consent must be obtained without captivity, coercion, or extortion.
## Test subjects have the right to demand the experiments stop at any time, and experiments '''must''' be stopped if the test-subject is exposed to inhumane levels of pain, suffering, or danger.
## Test-subjects must be properly compensated for their cooperation and the procedures they endure.
## Test-subjects can not be held against their will.
## The tests must address a clear goal and deal with a legitimate issue, and this must be disclosed to the test-subjects, in advance, before consent is given.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Using their influence with the government and media, they have repeatedly quashed the outcry of the Former Humans who have escaped captivity, leading the women in question into MistreatmentInducedBetrayal to the government of Japan, and humanity as a whole.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: By backing the Demon Hunters, they have the reputation of being champions of humanity. In the dark, they treat any Former Human they capture as a lab rat, putting them through experiments that cause massive suffering. 1205Two male students who attend Kaminoge High School, Hattori and Suwa are probably Yuuki's only male friends.
----
* FlatCharacter: Hattori and Suwa are your average high school kids, and that's about it.
* GreenEyedMonster: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. The two guys are immediately taken in by Kyouka's looks when they meet her and are jealous that Yuuki gets to work under someone that beautiful, but nothing comes out of it.
* LazyBum: In Chapter 1, they let Yuuki do all the work for them so they can mess around.
* LoveAtFirstSight: They're instantly smitten with Kyouka when they first meet her.
* NonActionGuy: They're your average joes with no combat capabilities.
* OnlyFriend: Before Yuuki joined the Mato Defense Corps, Hattori and Suwa were his only friends.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's unknown what happened to the duo after Yuuki left for Mato. A later chapter reveals that Hattori graduated and got a job at an office, but it's unknown where Suwa is.

[[folder:Varvara's Mother]]
!!Varvara's Mother
A former leader TheMafiya, she was known as "The Boreal Witch" by those who knew her. She made the mistake of stealing a Mato peach and giving it to her daughter, causing Ren Yamashiro to go after and beat her, dismantle her organization, and imprison her.
\
She's a Peach ability user, but her ability isn't known.
----
* AssholeVictim: Heavily Downplayed. While Varvara admits her mom got what she deserved, she remembers how her mom raised her with love and happiness to the best of her ability, and a part of Varvara regrets not showing her kindness when visiting her. Despite everything, deep down, Varvara still loves her mom.
* BreakTheBadass: She was the feared leader of a Russian criminal organization and a dangerous Peach ability user. However, she was no match for Ren Yamashiro, who easily trounced her. When Varvara visits her mother, she's a shell of her former self. She'd become frail, and her defeat by Ren humbled her so much that she warned her daughter about going against her.
* GoodParents: She tried raising her daughter the best she could. She showered Varvara with love, kindness, and practically everything she could've asked for with her mafia connections, even stealing a Mato peach. Even after losing everything and getting tossed in prison, she still loves her daughter and wishes her the best when she goes to work for the MDF.
* InstitutionalApparel: Subverted, as she's not crazy, just broken. She wears an outfit similar to a straight jacket, with seals painted on the straps likely to stop her from using her Peach Blessing. Again, she's not insane, but her defeat by Ren Yamashiro, losing her criminal organization and getting imprisoned humbled her.
* NoNameGiven: Her name is unknown.
* RedBaron: She was called "The Boreal Witch".
