* CompleteMonster (includes ''Prelude to Perdition'' tie-in comic): [[Characters/MarvelComicsApocalypse Apocalypse]] is a monstrous mutant who believes in [[SocialDarwinist survival of the fittest]]. Apocalypse is hired by the Genoshan government to be the overseer of the [[SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil enslaved mutants]] of Genosha, to keep them in line, and to ensure they continue to labor for the benefit of the Genoshan government. Apocalypse has his own agenda and is kidnapping mutants in Genosha and [[PlayingWithSyringes experimenting on them]], to see if any of them are worthy to be his new Horsemen, not caring about the pain and suffering he is inflicting on them.

*** Cyclops's boss is a giant core surrounded by four rotating shields, you can only step on rotating platforms, because benath you there's a BottomlessPit. It's only attack is a PlasmaCannon it fires from the core, sometimes the plasma balls collide with its own shields, others make it to you. So, you have to aim carefully at the core with Optic Blasts and avoid destroying the shields, otherwise the attacks of the boss will be more frequent and annoying.

** [[spoiler:Last, but not least, the final match against Magneto: with twice as much stamina as Exodus , it'll sure be a long, long fight. 90% of the time he'll be into his force field and there will be no way to get close to him. He might choose between summon four metal plates and throw them at you, and they certainly are very hard to dodge, or he can also throw an energy ball that drains your energy but is easier to deal with; after using any of these attacks his force field will disappear and he'll be wide open. You'll want to psych him into using his energy ball attack, dodge it, and give him your best shot, then get away. Rinse and Repeat till he's down for the count.]]

** First we have Tusk of all people. Amazingly fast and with huge stamina: he likes to charge at you, if you try to attack him from above, he'll uppercut you; he can also summon his Tuskettes, which are fast and annoying, they don't deal damage per se, but they can immobilize you to let Tusk do their dirty work. There are two floating platforms that constantly rise and fall, making your movement even harder. Plus, the platform you're standing in is surrounded by lava, if you fall in it, fortunately it doesn't mean instant death, but it deals a lot of damage. As he can't be put into hitstun, he can very easily counter your regular combo. One of the easier ways to beat him is knock him into the lava pits, which is easier said than done.

** Exodus, the miniboss of all the Avalon stages, can be this if you don't know how to deal with him. He's [[TeleportSpam constantly teleporting]], forcing you to predict where he's going to appear, attacks you with EyeBeams and a DivingKick, but his worst attack is when he swoops down and catches you, [[VerticalKidnapping then he takes you high above, and drops you to the ground]]. Sometimes he appears with his annoying [[GoddamnedBats teleporting mooks]] to assist him. You only have to take down half of his lifebar, but that's not worth the difficulty of the boss.

*** Juggernaut, The second Danger Room boss, is still worse. [[ForMassiveDamage All of his attacks deal a lot of damage]], he can very easily defeat you with only four hits. He'll charge at you with his shoulder, and if you let him get too close he'll either uppercut you, of grab you and slam you hard into the ground. Only combo finishers and special attacks put him into hitstun, but he's invincible while in this position.

And if you try to attack him from above, he'll cover himself with spikes, when he retracts them, he's wide open for a split second, but it's not so easy to find these spots.

*** Psylocke's boss is a huge rocket that is about to launch. The rocket doesn't attack, but when it starts moving, the screen starts scrolling up, which means you can still fall to your death. You only have a few platforms that are too far away from each other to jump, so, if at this point you still don't know to do air backflip kicks to keep Psylocke from falling, then you're screwed against this big guy.

* NoProblemWithLicensedGames: ''X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse'' for the SNES was a great game. Combining elements of platformer and beat 'em up along with fighting game style commands to use the various abilities your characters have. Plus, the levels are tailor made to each character to use every one of their abilities. Eventually you get to levels that are the same for every character... except that these levels are more cleverly designed with alternate paths and strategies depending on the characters you use. It did a good job of reaching into X-Men lore for the different characters, fights and locals and results in an enjoyable X-Men experience.

As Wolverine, it'll try to jump on you, if you let it get too close, it'll Combo you with a Drill Claw, or Tornado Claw, and that really hurts. As Beast, it'll constantly jump on you, or charge at you; practically you have to predict what it's going to do next.
*** Psylocke's boss is a huge rocket that is about to launch. The rocket doesn't attack, but when it starts moving, the screen starts scrolling up, which means you can still fall to your death. You only have a few platforms that are too far away from each other to jump, so, if at this point you still don't know to do air backflip kicks to keep Psylocke from falling, the you're screwed against this big guy.

* GoodBadBugs: In the battle against Omega Red, if you manage to place your character in front of the boss, his coils won't hurt you, and all you have to do is stand still and hit him slowly till he falls dead.
** [[spoiler:Also, if you manage to deliver the final blow to Magneto, and remain on one of the floating platforms at the same time, the game will never end, because your character has to be on the ground to trigger the explosion of Avalon]].
