** Mick Taylor is one of the most monstrous horror villains ever created. An Australian [[SerialKiller killer]], [[SerialRapist rapist]], and [[ColdBloodedTorture torturer]], he preys upon tourists visiting the Wolf Creek area and falsely befriends them before taking them back to his home and slowly torturing them to death; all of this solely [[ForTheEvulz for fun]]. He has killed several dozen people including an entire family, ([[WouldHurtAChild even a little girl]]). One of his favorite torture methods is "head on a stick" where he [[AndIMustScream severs their spine to turn them into a human vegetable]]. The prequel novels ''Origin'' and ''Desolation Game'' make him even more of a monster. He [[{{matricide}} killed his mother]] who loved him dearly, beat a bully so bad he [[EyeScream knocked his eyeball from its socket leaving it dangling by the eyestalk]], and [[KickTheDog killed a dog]] to force feed it to its owner before killing him too. While being pursued by four other serial killers, Mick tied up his girlfriend Rose and used her as rape bait to lure the killers into a trap, and killed one named [[AssholeVictim Jerry]] by [[CruelAndUnusualDeath gutting him and forcefeeding him his own intestines]]. During his time in the UsefulNotes/VietnamWar, he raped several women and later slaughtered their village, and stabbed an already paralyzed man in the back before cutting his head off and mounting it on a pike. After returning from the war, he took a tour guide with ten people back to his home. When the tour host escaped and returned with a cop, they found everyone dead except a single woman. Mick killed both men, and raped, tortured, and killed the woman after performing "head on a stick" with her. Mick later went to a bar and killed all six occupants.

Jerry lives in an abandoned mine that he has booby-trapped to kill intruders (we see the skeleton of one of his adult victims). When Mick enters Jerry's home, he sees Jerry raping a little girl, and finds trophies and corpses of three of his past victims, and also sees Jerry [[KickTheDog kill a dog]]. After Mick murders a touring couple, Jerry and the other killers decide to kill Mick out of revenge for allowing the bodies to be discovered, which brought police into the area and made it more likely for the killings of the other killers to be discovered. When the killers attack Mick’s home, Jerry tries to rape Mick's girlfriend Rose (who Mick had tied up to use as rape bait to lure the killers into a trap). Just before Mick kills Jerry, he tells Mick that he should have killed the two truckers who discovered the couples bodies, stating "You never let anyone go."

One night, two men stumble upon them during their rape session. Mick and Atkin shot the two men dead thinking they were enemy soldiers, showing no remorse when they learned they weren't. Atkin taught Mick the "head on a stick" technique, severing the spine of a terrified soldier cowering in his pajamas. ** Which she did try, but the gun jammed or she just didn't manage to reload it due to her lack of knowledge of firearms. And while Mick's knife was still laying around, after what they've just been through, it's not much of a stretch to imagine that she wouldn't be thinking straight and would have been more focused on fleeing with Kristy than finishing him off.
