** After Dunkey's polarizing video of ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles2'' in which he made it abundantly clear that he did not enjoy the game even for a little bit, he also released a video of ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles3''. This video was far less outright negative, though he still made fun of the game's tendency to repeat the same lines over and over again, some of the stranger lines out of context, and [[WhamEpisode most of the end of Chapter 5 and beginning of Chapter 6]]. However, there were moments when he had praise for the game (such as [[AwesomeMusic/XenobladeChronicles3 its music]]) or just delivered some of his usual zaniness, which made it feel less like a giant TakeThat. Not to mention, unlike 2, Dunkey actually played through the entire game in preparation for the video, rather than quitting after only a few hours, which has been well-received by the game's fans even despite the negativity.

** His video on ''VideoGame/MultiVersus'' was controversial enough that the thread about the video on Dunkey's subreddit was locked shortly after it was uploaded. Even those who generally agreed with his critiques of the game questioned Dunkey's decision to spend the first half of the video complaining about the inconsistency of the roster, [[DoubleStandard shortly after praising Smash.. for having a wide and varied roster]]. Dunkey pretending that the roster is full of outdated characters who nobody knows or cares about falls rather flat in the face of the game containing Batman, Superman, [[Franchise/LooneyTunes Bugs & Taz]], [[Franchise/GameOfThrones Arya Stark]], and other well-known characters. He then goes on to complain that a game where Bugs Bunny can throw a custard pie at Shaggy in the Batcave is "taking itself too seriously".

** Some have criticized Dunkey for giving takes on traditional [=RPGs=] and games with Japanese storytelling, since he has publicly stated that he generally dislikes their various traits, but reviews them anyway.
