* ToughActToFollow: Series/UltramanOrb was received extremely well by fans on both sides of the Pacific, especially Hideo Ishiguro's performance as Gai Kurenai. The jury is still out on Geed's reception, with some not finding Riku to be as good a protagonist and the early episodes lacking.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Zero in episode 10 turns his Sluggers into a makeshift megaphone.

* CompleteMonster: [[TheManBehindTheMan Ultraman Belial]] has somehow gotten worse. The first thing he does in this series, during his fourth attack on the Land of Light, is defeat all the Ultramen before setting off a bomb that would [[OmnicidalManiac wipe out all life in their universe]]. However this was a XanatosGambit: either Belial kills them all and gets his revenge, or he gets Ultraman King out of the picture. The latter happens, and Belial then hides out in space, plotting his next move. Belial plans on making himself invincible by eating Geed alive and leeching power from him like a battery. When that fails due to Geed's strong willpower, he chooses to [[ArchnemesisDad mind control his son]] into becoming a loyal slave. Geed escapes and Belial loses their fight, only to come back by possessing an innocent woman and using her as a puppet while manipulating his own loyal servant [[TheHeavy Fukuide Kei]] into fighting for him. Upon finding that [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness Kei is of no further use to him]], Belial rips out Kei's Sturm Organ—his power source and vital organ—and eats it in front of him, cackling about how Kei will be dead in days without it. During the final battle, Geed attempts to reason with his father, all but begging him to let go of his evil. Belial [[RedemptionRejection responds]] by trying to kill him one last time, demonstrating he is [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery beyond all help]].

** [[spoiler:Belial was revealed to be somewhat more complex. His entire motivation to attack the Land of Light was made purely out of revenge for his banishment. Makes you wondering if all the CompleteMonster traits that he went through in his past appearances were simply a form of JerkassFacade.]]
