Dork Age was renamed

* AudienceAlienatingEra: ''Gyu!'' is seen as this due to the change in the show's formula as well as Junichi Sato leaving the series.

Loads And Loads Of Characters is now a disambig; doesn't fit any of the tropes listed

* BrokenBase: While half of the fanbase enjoy ''Gyu!'' for its new BoardingSchool concept, the other half cite the {{Oddly Named Sequel|2ElectricBoogaloo}} as one of the weaker parts of the show due to [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks breaking its tradition]] of a CuteWitch format into a standard MagicalGirlWarrior show (done probably because of the success of the second half of the original series, which followed a similar format). In addition to its abundance of {{Filler}} and the introduction of LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters when there were [[PutOnABus plenty of characters]] [[DemotedToExtra from the original show]] who haven't received CharacterDevelopment, [[FirstInstallmentWins there will be plenty of arguments about it]]. Some people also believe that the original director of the series, Junichi Sato, leaving during the beginning of ''Gyu!'' might have had something to do with it.

* TearJerker: In episode 20 of the first season. Pearl, the ocean princess, is upset because she misses her parents who are traveling through the seas due to their duties. She misses her parents so much that she ends up on the verge of crying too. [[spoiler: Thankfully, Fine and Rein use the Prominence to help her get in contact with her parents so she could see them for once.]]

* DorkAge: ''Gyu!'' is seen as this due to the change in the show's formula as well as Junichi Sato leaving the series.
* FanonDiscontinuity: Part of the fanbase likes to pretend ''Gyu!'' never happened.
* FanPreferredPairing: Rein/Eclipse was, at least, initially more popular than the {{Official Couple}} Fine/Eclipse. In a popularity poll done by the Japanese fan community, Rein/Eclipse topped the list. Even the artist of the manga adaptation, Mayuki Anan, seems to lean towards this pairing as well since this pairing got the most ShipTease despite that all pairings were left ambiguous in the end.
* [[HoYay Les Yay]]: Sure, Altezza got paired with Auler, but there was plenty of this between her and Sophie.
* MemeticMutation: When Rein got pissed with Altezza in episode 10 of the first series, she yells, "What was that?" ("Nani yo") to which some Japanese users phonetically transcribed it as "Haniho" and ran with it.
* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: The fight scene at the end of episode 26 showcased badass fighting skills from Shade [[spoiler: and would lead to a DownerEnding where TeamRocketWins and TheReveal]].
* SeasonalRot: The second season, ''Gyu!'', is generally regarded by fans as the weaker series due to its abundance of {{Filler}}, poor CharacterDevelopment, and change in direction of the show's formula.
* ShipToShipCombat: Fine/Eclipse and Eclipse/Rein fans were constantly at strife. Meanwhile, interestingly, no one really cared about who Bright would end up with.
* StrangledByTheRedString: After establishing the LoveDodecahedron for the majority of the first season, during the last couple of episodes, Shade and Bright redirect their interest to Fine and Rein respectively. While Bright did get enough development to bridge that interest, especially when [[spoiler:Fine's fear of him makes him realize she never understood him, whereas Rein tried to directly confront him]], Shade's interest in Fine is less implicit. It's hard not to see Shade rebounding towards Fine after realizing Rein will never like him romantically.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Several princes and princesses from each of the kingdoms only show up for one episode or less. Prince Solo from the Seed Kingdom comes to mind: he was only briefly introduced in one episode of the first series. He was then given a ADayInTheLimelight in the second season before being shoved into the background altogether again.
* ToyShip: Milky and Nalro got some ShipTease and both of them don't even know how to talk yet! Nalro hasn't even learned how to walk!
