Third, after you reduces her HP to 25% she absorb ALL your PP. The good news is: She is susceptible to PSI Block and, during that second phase she only uses attack. The bad news: you can't heal anymore, making the battle a damage race. Even more bad news: [[spoiler:Ness must venture Magicant and fights a Boss shortly after that fight with almost no chance to heal. Granted, the boss is pathetically easy, [[UnwinnableByMistake but if Ness happens to get KO during that fight...]]]]

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: Seamlessly integrating the soundtracks of Mother, Touhou, Metroid, and many more games into one qualifies the entire score.

* MoodWhiplash: All over the place. The game is so full of these that it's very easy to be laughing or enjoying a CrowningMomentOfAwesome at one moment then bawling like a baby the next.

*** In the sequel, it seems to be completely gone [[spoiler: until it's mentioned that the PC-98 Gensokyo and the Windows Gensokyo fused. Meaning [[IGotBetter it got better.]]]]

* GameBreaker: If you abuse the rolling hitpoints, you can defeat a trio of high-levelled monsters before you should be able to. Not only does this gain you 80,000 exp, but also a piece of headgear where you have, for all practical purposes, infinite magic-points (you can never have less than 1 mp, and as long as you have 1 mp you can cast anything). Give this to a person who has the 4th level Heal spell, and you can constantly heal your whole party (Heal 4 hits the whole party, compared to all other heals being single-target) for 1000ish hp each turn. This completely removes any real challenge from the game, as with the rolling hit points, you'll have enough time even without healing to get at least three turns before you die. And each turn everyone regains 1000hp. In other words, the enemies have to do 4000 damage per turn to have any chance of killing anyone. And you have TWO people who can cast Heal 4 (only 1 bandana, though), so make that around 7000-8000 per turn until the second healer runs out of MP.

* CrackPairing: Mima gets a quick LesYay moment with Yuugi Hoshiguma...

* PlayerPunch: The ending of [[spoiler: Sanae's chapter]], as well as pretty much any time the party runs into a victim of UnwillingRoboticisation. Each of these moments will likely increase your resolve to ''kill'' the monsters responsible.

** Similiarly, [[spoiler: Eirin]] is a cold-hearted monster who forcibly turns [[spoiler: poor Reisen]] into another victim of UnwillingRoboticisation.
