* FridgeBrilliance: JK killing a bunch of Revolutionary Minutemen doesn't change history because it was a small group, and they all ''died'' in the upcoming battle anyway.
* MisBlamed: Because of an off-hand joke about an extra that Mike and the bots think looks like Lisa Kudrow, many people are under the mistaken belief that Lisa Kudrow was in the film. It was actually David Giancola's then-girlfriend.

!The MST3K episode contains examples of:

* CrowningMomentOfFunny:
-->'''Nick:''' ''You're grounded!'' [Gets punched in the face.]
-->'''Crow:''' And it's all over!
-->'''Mike:''' "But I chased you on a horse! I'm supposed to ''wi-hi-hin!''"
-->'''Tom:''' Aha, so it's bicycles then, is it? We accept your choice of vehicle! Enguarde!"
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Invoked when Nick's plane is shot down and the camera focuses on the altimeter and speedometer.
-->'''Servo''': "They're running out of ALT!"
-->'''Eddie''': "And their MIFFNOTS are going down!"
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Mike and the Bots mock the "future" world of 2041, as the only things that seem different from the present day (1994) is that the children are fatter and they all have cell phones. IWantMyJetpack, indeed.
* IWantMyJetpack: 2041 underwhelms Mike and the 'Bots.
-->'''Servo:''' So, fifty years from now it'll be... ''three'' years from now.
-->'''Mike:''' (''flatly'') The, uh...future.

game, not a trope.

* BetterThanItSounds: The MST3K crew openly acknowledge that this film really isn't on the same level as most of their work. The script is centered around a fairly clever {{Time Paradox}}, and the only thing really holding it back is the nonexistent budget.

** Wow, they actually did manage to accurately predict the future!
* The cast of ''TimeChasers'' was initially ecstatic that the film would be featured on the show and held their own reunion party to watch the episode's premier. According to Michael J. Nelson, they didn't take the verbal lashing too well. However, according to director David Giancola, only the guy who played Matthew "Pinkboy" Paul got pissy, while everyone else had a blast. Even then, Giancola blamed Pinkboy's umbrage mostly on tipsiness at the time. (Interestingly enough, one of the show's writers said that they had planned to have that same actor make a guest appearance in the episode itself, but [[WhatCouldHaveBeen couldn't due to schedule conflicts]].) Ironically, the sale of the film's television rights for the episode's production allowed the film to ''finally'' break even years after it was released.

-->'''Mike:''' (''flatly'') The, uh...future.
** Actually, it's probably more accurate than most predictions. Most kids ''do'' have cellphones. People ''do'' jog a lot more. Money ''will'' have the same Presidents on coinage. No one expects holographic television for a ''long'' time. This isn't like ''ThePhantomPlanet'' in the far off future of 1980.
