* TooCoolToLive: The big contribution to TorchTheFranchiseAndRun is just how many characters get killed off, often in the most petty and pointless way imaginable, as if Sapkowski was trying to get out of his way to make sure that nobody would ever be able to pick up the saga and keep it going. We all know how it ended up working out, yet:
** [[spoiler: Most infamously, the saga ends up with Geralt and Yennefer dying in the very last pages of it. Probably. Maybe]].
** [[spoiler: After three books worth of bonding, interacting and being cool as hell, every single member of Geralt's hansa that isn't Dandelion gets killed when storming the Stygga Castle in the very finale]].
**   who isn't Shani gets killed after the events of Lady of the Lake, in a very blunt listing of how they've died.
** [[spoiler: Codringher and Fenn]] are brutally murdered in the very book that introduced them. As if you didn't hate the CoDragons enough by this point.

* OnceOriginalNowOverdone: Back when they came out, the short stories were considered highly original and one of first modern works of fiction in Poland that dabbled in deconstructing classic fairy tales, plot cliches and general tropes. Today deconstructing Grimm fairy tales is probably the most overused and creatively bankrupt thing one could write and thus works as a detriment toward the short stories, despite them being forerunner for this trend (at least in Poland) and early adopter in general.

New trope name, even more fitting

* DiagnosedByTheAudience: Yennefer, at least in games continuity, shows signs of Borderline Personality Disorder. This is especially strong in the third game but her unstable emotions. Her suicide attempt when younger and childhood also point to this.
