Joe later states that the Key either takes you to a door you were thinking of, or if you weren't thinking of any place in particular, just opens to a random door. It only took him to random doors the first time he used it because he didn't know how it worked.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: When Joe is first messing around with the Key, the door opens to some rather weird places. The Key opens the door to a beach and a biker's bar. There's no indication Joe was thinking about either of those, although it's later stated and shown that the Key takes the user where they think of going.

If it's a 'pre' of something then it's not a 'successor'.

* SpiritualSuccessor: Anybody notice this show is basically a pre-{{Creepypasta}} version of ''The Holders''?
** Someone hunting for ordinary items that turn out to be powerful artifacts, and a series on The Sci-Fi Channel. Is that a description of ''The Lost Room'' or ''Series/Warehouse13''?

** Presumably, this was to get clarified in the ongoing series.

The page does not talk to itself.

** It is mentioned by [[spoiler: The Occupant]], who was't even thought to exist. Therefore, no one had thought to consult with him, or it would have become common knowledge. It also makes sense, considering that most people don't know that the objects don't work in the Room, or that they can be destroyed there.

* FridgeLogic: The Room, itself, seems to have a lot of untapped potential. Nobody ever tries to leave through the window (where the 1961 landscape is still very visible), not to mention the dozens of large Objects that still remain inside such as the Bed, TV, etc.
