Cool Loser TRS cleanup, has been renamed to Unconvincingly Unpopular Character and is a YMMV audience reaction.

* CoolLoser: Absurdly smart, surprisingly funny, Noah Wyle-level cute, earnest, usually polite... and ''still lives with his mother''?
** Global financial crisis, natch.
*** Plus, he was a perpetual student until the first movie. Then when he got a job, he had to travel all over the world all the time so why bother moving?

* HoYay: It takes all of five seconds for Uncle Jerry to convince you that he's jealous not of Flynn's dad for winning Flynn's mom, but the other way around, especially since he hands Flynn a picture of the two of them back in the service. In the Navy.

In the Navy. And the nostalgic flashback starts with Uncle Jerry dancing with Flynn's dad before Flynn's mom cuts in.

* SpecialEffectsFailure: If you're paying attention while Flyn and Nicole are waltzing, you can see a bunch of flaming CGI arrows pass right through them.

* MagnificentBastard: From ''Curse of the Judas Chalice'': UsefulNotes/VladTheImpaler, {{Dracula}} himself is a cunning and vicious vampire who became crippled and near powerless after drinking contaminated blood and now seeks the Judas Chalice to revive himself to full glory. In the present, Dracula masquerades as the meek and seemingly harmless Professor Lazlo who is taken in by Sergei Kubichek who is plotting to use vampires and the Judas Chalice to bring order to Russia again. Dracula instead plays along and uses Kubichek and hero Flynn Carson as his puppets throughout the film, manipulating them into getting the Chalice for him and disposing of Kubichek when he successfully obtains it and fully restores himself, intending to use the Chalice to usher in an Age of Darkness with him as ruler. A charismatic and aristocratic vampire, Dracula even goes out gracefully upon being killed by Flynn who he genuinely respects, even complimenting him as a great historian before dying.
