Fan Preferred Couple requires an Official Couple to compete with.

* FanPreferredCouple:
** There's no OfficialCouple on the show of the main characters, but some fans thought that Hyde and [[spoiler:Magis]] would have [[HoYay gone well together]] and were disappointed his appearance on the show was brief.
** [[ChildhoodFriendRomance Alata and Eri]] is also present as a fan couple, with a bit of [[BelligerentSexualTension Hyde and Moune]] in the mix, making these pairings ShipMates.

* BrokenBase: Common opinion seems to be the show falls here; some believe Toei was putting all their energy towards [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger the next season]], while others find it to be a good season in its own right, in spite of being sandwiched in between two very popular seasons, making it one of the most divisive Sentai seasons. Perhaps because of this, the show suffers from a mashup effect -- a set of angelic heroes with two different [[MerchandiseDriven collectable gimmicks]] instead of just one (cards and Headders), versus three disparate villain groups [[spoiler:(though they're all being manipulated by a FallenAngel)]].

* ToughActToFollow: The series had the unfortunate fate of being sandwiched between two very popular Sentai series [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger before]] and [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger after]] it, plus a very [[Series/KamenRiderDouble popular entry]] from its [[Franchise/KamenRider sister series]] airing at the same time, causing ''Goseiger'' to suffer bad critical evaluation in comparison. It did manage to be VindicatedByHistory sometime afterwards, but it unfortunately continues to remain in the shadow of its surrounding series in terms of popularity.

* EvilIsCool: Buredoran (aka [[spoiler:Brajira]]) might be a constant backstabber who gives even [[Series/ChojinSentaiJetman Radiguet]] a run for his money, but he is good as an evil counterpart and foil to everything the Goseigers stand for, has a calm and calculating personality. It goes to the point where some fans ''outright'' admitted that [[JustHereForGodzilla they're just watching the show because of him]].

Was not a theme for VS movies

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOdtWiSq1C0 The henshin theme for the crossover movies]]. The team-ups with ''Shinkenger'' and ''Gokaiger'' just got ten times more badass.

* VindicatedByHistory: ''Goseiger'' is not that well-received by the fans, [[OvershadowedByAwesome especially since it was pitted together with]] ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger'' and ''Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger''. However once ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGoBusters'', ''Series/KamenRiderWizard'' and ''Series/PowerRangersMegaforce'' came into the picture it received less hate compared to when it just started, making this trope a common cycle among Toku series in Japan. Getting an (arguably) better translation (by sub group Millionfold Curiosity) may have helped too.
