* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: "Night Of The Living Rogues". Fed up with Bebop and Rocksteady's incompetence, Shredder gathers a large group of the Turtle's previous enemies to defeat them once and for all. The Turtles are completely helpless against he assembled baddies. So will this cause the the Turtles to call on all of their allies, like The Mutant Frogs, Usagi, Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa leading to a huge brawl between the groups? Nnnnnope. Instead, the Turtles just call on Casey Jones and Zach the "fifth turtle" for back up, and the villains run away at the end when it's pointed out that they're outnumbered. Keep in mind that one of those people is a kid, and the other two are April and Irma.

* VillainDecay: Bebop and Rocksteady are perfect examples of this. They actually start as human mooks of a criminal gang, then [[TookALevelInBadass they take several levels in Badass]] when they are turned into mutants by Shredder. The mutation apparently gives them super strength and enhances their hand-to-hand combat proficiency, to the point that in their first encounter with the turtles after the mutation, they're able to defeat them easily [[NeverBringAKnifeToAFistFight with their bare hands]]. They're so tough, the turtles are forced to lure them into a trap and shut them inside a zoo cage in order to defeat them. Villain Decay and Flanderization kick in after two or three appearances later: from that moment on, Bebop and Rocksteady are demoted from co-dragons to common mooks; they become [[{{Flanderization}} even more stupid than they were]] before the mutation occurred; they are always equipped with laser guns, [[ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy with which they can never hit the turtles]]; even if their aim were better it wouldn't matter, since [[GunsAreWorthless they get easily and regularly disarmed]]; when this happens, they generally prefer to run away instead of facing the turtles in hand-to-hand combat, and when they decide to give it a try they're beaten without effort.

** Having said that, season eight isn't entirely without its fans; a few consider it to have struck a good balance between the show's original tone and that of the comic book. In addition, Shredder became a serious threat again for the first time since the very beginning of the show. However, far fewer people are willing to defend seasons nine and ten, when Lord Dregg replaced Shredder and Krang, and the ExecutiveMeddling started to get out of control.
