* EvilIsCool: [[Comics/Deathstroke Slade]]. While this version is more [[LaughablyEvil humorous]] than his [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans previous incarnation]], he also proves to be just as much of a legitimate threat in this movie, and is perhaps the greatest villains the 2013 titans have ever faced.

* SnarkBait: Even before its release, the movie was the target of mockery for being a spinoff of a show that is also widely reviled by some fans for its juvenile humor and [[AdoredByTheNetwork overexposure]] on Creator/CartoonNetwork, among other things. The trailers making it look like an extended episode of the show didn't help matters. However, the movie was met with a largely positive reception on its actual release.

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: A remix that combines the ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' themes plays over the final part of the end credits, and it's ''great''.

** After dangling the possibility of [[ComicBook/{{Deathstroke}} Slade]] making an appearance for years, include [[TrailersAlwaysLie a very reviled]] RatingsStunt BaitAndSwitch, he finally makes a legitimate voiced appearance in this movie as the BigBad.

** The traditionally animated sequences (Robin's ''Disney/TheLionKing''-esque nightmare, "My Superhero Movie") are gorgeous. All of them were produced and animated in-house at Warner Bros. Animation and it shows.

** One of the trailers making fun of Aquaman getting his own movie, going off the old joke of him being a lame hero. Then his movie proceeded to come out at the end of the year to become the best received movie in the [=DCEU=] by both audience reception and gross.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Do Atom mocks Robin about not getting his own movie due being a {{Jerkass}} or because he was angry with the Boy Wonder for stepping on him during the premier?

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Creator/StanLee could have been easily integrated into the story more closely with a cameo with him as Funky Flashman, a villainous publicist who was created by Created/JackKirby has a TakeThat to Lee.

** Slade's annoyance with the Titans brings to mind ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTheMovie2017'', another theatrical feature film adaptation of a popular children's show that had its villain harping on the series' gimmicks and also features the voice of Tara Strong.

* EpilepticTrees: As can be seen on the film's WMG page, guessing the possible offensive jokes in the film (some of which cross the line even further than the show ever would) has become popular with its detractors. Though some of them are clearly just kidding.

* TakeThatScrappy: The first trailer had Superman ''and'' [[VillainHasAPoint Slade]] calling out the Titans on never actually doing anything heroic and mocking some of their more fan-reviled antics.

** "How come one of the most hated modern cartoons gets a theatrical movie but {name of popular cartoon} didn't?" This is especially notable given that it's a SpinOff of [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans a better-received series]] that only got the MadeForTVMovie ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansTroubleInTokyo'', that it is only the second Creator/CartoonNetwork show since 2002's ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirlsMovie'' to get a theatrical movie, ''and'' because ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' was previously announced to get the theatrical treatment only for that movie to be stuck in DevelopmentHell for years before being scrapped.

* HarsherInHindsight: Stan Lee cameo-ing in this film and making fun of no cameo being too small for him, even in a DC property. Sadly he would pass away near the end of 2018.

After release, a good number of negative user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes were complaining about the film earning a higher aggregate score than ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar''.

* CriticalDissonance: Downplayed; the film has received largely positive reviews from critics, with 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, but audience opinions were generally positive overall, with 72% on the same site. However, the audience rating was 25% around the time of the first teaser, rising to 50% after the first trailer, so audience opinion slowly rose as more information was released and after the film launched. After release, a good number of negative user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes were complaining about the film earning a higher aggregate score than ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar''.
