* CompleteMonster: [[TheManBehindTheMan Lord Embryo]] is as awful here as he was in his [[Anime/CrossAnge home series]]. Having manipulated the annihilation of the Ancient Humans, Embryo creates a new world with brutal systems against those born without Mana, or "Norma", using them as cannon fodder in a war against the DRAGON people to kill as many of the DRAGON as possible and harvest energy from their bodies. Embryo, desiring to purge his humanity of less desired elements, also [[ShadowDictator manipulates the Innovators, Amalgam Blue Cosmos and more]] to launch terrorist attacks or brutal, genocidal campaigns that leave countless innocents dead. Deciding to destroy the World of Mana and start over, Embryo plans to kill all the humans trapped in the world while kidnapping every heroine to MindRape them into his {{sex slave}}s to breed a new race of humanity, even trying to murder them and Ange, the object of his obsession, when they refuse to be his playthings.

* IntendedAudienceReaction: If you make the right choices, [[spoiler: you can save and recruit Jill, who pilots the Raziya]]. Given that it's a tradition for SRW games to have hidden mechs that weren't restricted to a single unit, who was expecting to at least be able to obtain the Eirene and the Victorica[[note]]the two Ragna-Mails used by Irma and Tanya respectively; said pilots were the 2 Ragna-mail pilots who stayed by Embryo's side until the end[[/note]] as unlockable units for Chris, Ersha, Vivian, or Rosalie? Instead, they just remain hostile units that you never get a chance to recruit[[note]]admittedly, they would likely be identical to the Theodra, Cleopatra, and Raziya, but still[[/note]].

** Most units in ''V'' reuse the attacks they had in the ''Third Z'' duology: although [[OlderThanYouThink animation recycling isn't new in the franchise]], it's usually reserved for when games are part of an on-going series (for instance, ''Alpha''), allowing the animators to focus on the newcomers, except WordOfGod admitted ''V'' is a standalone installment. This is exacerbated when players discovered the [[Anime/Gundam00AWakeningOfTheTrailblazer Gundam Meisters and their units']] (the 00 [=Qan[T]=], Raphael and Harute) attack animations are barely touched upon, if not at all[[note]]In fact, the only new attack the [=Qan[T]=] has in ''V'' exists simply to replace its "ALL Attack" from the ''Third Z'' duology[[/note]]. The Zabanya is the sole exception to this, [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks but that's for a whole different reason]].

* MemeticBadass: [[Anime/CrossAnge Ange]] has been turned into one for some fans because of her opening her cockpit and firing at her enemies with a machine gun [[BatmanCanBreatheInSpace in space.]]

* [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter They Wasted A Perfectly Good Unit]]: [[spoiler: Wow, you can recruit [[Anime/CrossAnge Jill]] as a SecretCharacter, who pilots the [[SuperRobot Raziya]]? Too bad she only has access to the beam and sword attacks, thus making her feel like a watered-down version of Hilda (who pilots the Cleopatra) and Salia (who pilots the Theodora). Admittedly, she does have access to a pretty good skill pool[[note]]most notably, Foresee, a skill that lets one allied unit evade all attacks for one battle, costs 10 SP if used by Jill, as opposed to the usual cost of 20-25 SP[[/note]], making her good as a support unit but one can't help but wonder why she doesn't at least have Ability Unlock when all the other Ragna-mails do. They might as well have made her pilot a Glaive and given Tusk or Rosalie the Raziya instead!]]

** If there's a ''Anime/BraveSeries'' included in a ''Super Robot Wars'' installment, chances are it has to be ''Anime/{{GaoGaiGar}}'', right? NOT THIS TIME: ''Might Gaine'' isn't just the second ''Brave Series'' in [=SRW=] after ''[=GaoGaiGar=]'', it ''displaces'' the latter for the first time as the ''Brave Series'' representative for an installment since its debut in ''Alpha 2''. [[note]]And to forewarn anyone who's not aware of this issue, any ''Anime/BraveSeries'' other than ''GaoGaiGar'' who are to be featured in the future will ''forever'' displace ''GaoGaiGar''; for that ''GaoGaiGar'' was the ''last show'' of their franchise.[[/note]]

** In the second preview commercial, we see Yurika Misamaru back in her Nergal captain outfit. Many [=SRW=] games that use ''The Prince of Darkness'' never put Yurika back in the saddle, preferring to leave Ruri as captain. [[spoiler:It ends up being a little of both, as Yurika is added as Ruri's subpilot in the Nadesico-C]].

** [[spoiler:3 [[Manga/MobileSuitCrossboneGundam Dogatie]] clones show up on the final stage with the Gamillas, giving you a trio of Divinidads to fight alongside Desseler and his fleet]].

* CriticalResearchFailure: In Scenario 32, UC route, Bright claims that he's taking [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn Marida Cruz]] into custody under the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Antarctic Treaty]], even though the Antarctic Treaty became defunct when the One Year War ended. It's not the first game that made this mistake, as several other SRW games set after OYW also reference the Antarctic Treaty.

* CompleteMonster: In a game that has characters [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsV who think they're]] [[Anime/ShinMazinger superior to other races]], characters [[Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato2199 who have no problems annihilating planets]], characters [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn who want to leave the fate of Earth to its own]], and [[Anime/TheBraveExpressMightGaine characters who]] [[spoiler: play on human lives as if it were a video game]], [[Anime/CrossAnge Embryo]] still makes it to the top of the list as he does all of these things ''and'' [[spoiler: kidnap several women, married or minor to make them his wives.]]

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The animations for the [[Anime/Gundam00AWakeningOfTheTrailblazer Zabanya]] are uncharacteristically sluggish compared to its ''Third Z'' counterpart, looking incredibly lacking and static. Needless to say, fans were not amused.

** Ever since they first meet, [[Anime/ShinMazinger Tetsuya Tsurugi]] becomes ''very interested'' in [[Anime/GetterRobo Ryouma Nagare]]. The actual reason for this is [[spoiler:Tetsuya believes Getter Ray radiation is the solution to break [[Anime/ShinMazinger Kouji Kabuto]] out from the control of the [[Manga/ShinMazingerZero Mazinger ZERO]]]], but the way Tetsuya obsesses over Ryouma made players assume that he has a crush on him.

*** As a corollary, while many units do gain a new attack or earn a re-animated one, some players are miffed by the new animations, even finding problems with them. For example, take the [[Anime/GetterRobo Shin Getter]] and its two new animated attacks, the "Getter Razor" and "Stoner Sunshine": both feature the typical robot cut-in where the machine's art style briefly resembles its counterpart from the {{Anime}}, but the style hearkens much closer to its depiction from the [=OVA=] than the similar ''Third Z'' cut-ins, which haven't changed at all, making the visual difference in style extremely obvious.
